Beware.
I was not pleased with Dr. Kempf’s fear tactics, manipulation or unnecessarily rough cleaning methods.
Dr. Kempf cleaned my teeth using an ultrasonic device. I have had ultrasonic cleanings in the past with no problem, but with Dr Kempf I experienced extreme discomfort. I let him know that it was hurting and he did not ease up at all. When he was done he had actually damaged my teeth. He said that he had simply uncovered decay. I have had two other dentists look at the damage he did and they say there was no decay, just inappropriately harsh cleaning techniques that leave me needing several crowns to correct.
After he was done with the «cleaning» he told me that my teeth were so badly cracked that I was lucky to have any teeth at all. (My second and third opinion dentists completely contradicted this statement.)
Dr. Kempf has a tiny (but very expensive) camera that he uses to show you close-​up pictures of your teeth. He showed me the backside of molars and said «it looks like a bomb went off back there».
He told me I needed $ 1,000 worth of diagnostics before he could even begin working on my teeth.
By the time I walked out of the office I was humiliated and frightened that I was on the verge of loosing my teeth. I am so glad that I found decent dentists to allay those fears and now I am here to tell you — beware of Dr. Kempf.
