Oregon Cabaret Theatre

We saw — and much enjoyed — the Johnny Cash show. Everything ran smoothly. Loved the venue. High quality show. Affordable overall, including dessert. Dick Hay pie was like a gourmet Carvel ice cream cake.

Love this venue! Really makes for such an enjoyable time and so well run. great actors, great staging… we saw 39 Steps and we had a blast. Can’t wait for 2016 Season
My only complain… the brunch was really less than great. The eggs taste powdered and since you can’t get them made to order I assume they are. Overall the ingredients just seemed pretty lame/​processed. That doesn’t mean however that I won’t try dinner next time. And the Dick Hay pie is yummy.

Went and enjoyed «A Christmas Story» good show. As for food; I had the skirt steak with garlic mashers and broccoli. It was good, but I have two major complaints. When you pay on the higher end for a show and the slightly higher end on the food cost. One the service should be at least good. This is the 2^nd time my wife and I have gone and the service was once again. Very bad. I hope that they hire a better service trainer, because these kids are some of the worse in the Rogue Valley.

Just amazing! I lived in Ashland for just a few years and returned this Thanksgiving to see some friends. The tickets were something spontaneous and I’m completely hooked and cannot wait to return.
The actors were stellar! The experience magical. It really was such a treat. Young and old, it’s great for everyone.
And holy moly the deserts are huge. Good for sharing.

We saw 39 Steps at this magnificent venue last night. The staff was so attentive with filling water and coffee and making sure the guests had everything they needed. I was so surprised that the meal was superb. (I expected one of those mass hotel type meals). Our group of 18 enjoyed wine and delicious food! The play was absolutely hilarious. We are friends with Stephen Kline so we came from Redding to enjoy his performance. All four actors were top notch. We just laughed and laughed! Looking forward to more evenings at your beautiful theater.

Cozy setting and excellent desserts. But the real treat is the 39 steps play and the actors. Fantastic adaptation. Took our kids to see it (9 & 12 boys) and they loved it as well. Highly recommend. We had gone up to crater lake and decided to stay the night in Ashland. Terrific.

We made dinner reservations for our first time out to the Oregon Cabaret to watch The 39 Steps and arrived on time at 6.30 for the meal. A dinner reservation is required to order an entrée, but you may order drinks, appetizers and half-​time desserts if you are seated early enough.
My wife ordered their Pan Roasted Half Chicken — with mushroom sage sauce, roasted red potatoes and fresh vegetables — but didn’t much enjoy it, lacking depth of flavour and the cooked vegetables were too crisp for her liking. I, however, really enjoyed their Lemon Parmesan Steelhead — with sun dried tomato and herb cous cous, lemon parmesan sauce, and fresh vegetables: The fish was done perfectly, flavours were distinctive, textures pleasing and the vegetables crunched just enough for me. Yum!
If we were to go again we’d skip the entrees and get seated later, ordering only appetizers and half-​time desserts along with our drinks. The entrees being a mixed bag, the small tables being a little cramped for a full meal, the chairs not being comfortable enough for a long night seated and the airconditioning inadequate to pump any of the stuffiness out of the hall on a warm Summer’s evening made the experience less that perfect for us.
The performance for The 39 Steps was good but I felt the humour in it would have benefitted from a faster pace — alternatively my aching back in their unsupportive chairs wanted the show to run shorter! We may do it again for the right show, but likely only arriving just in time to order dessert and coffee for the intermission.
Service is really enthusiastic and excellent. Our server explained all our options in detail. This gets a A-​OK from me.

Dinner and Theatre in a converted Baptist church. What would the pastor think? He probably spins in his grave each evening at 8 when they open Cabaret.
I’ve had dinners at dinner theaters before and they are consistently «average». That is the last one I will ever have. Am I so lazy I can’t go find a nice place for dinner before the performance? Also, the wines were all Rogue Valley wines. Rogue Valley wines are very low on my preferences… but they did have local beer — and a Dead Guy Ale tops any Rogue Valley wine.
You can come before the performance and order dessert (and some booze I suppose) — and the dessert will arrive at the mid break of the performance. Sofie and I enjoyed that part of the program a lot!
The seating is at tables of two or four. Four is most common for «the good seats» downstairs. We sat with a very couple from Salem who wisely ordered one dessert which is large enough for two. I enjoyed talking with the strangers at our table.
The theater is small — kind of like a good sized baptist church would be around the 40’s. Before the performance some of the actors came out to introduce themselves in character and costume. The Cabaret girls were intimidating with the heavy makeup, intense eye contact and brashness. I liked that they came around though.

If I were jus reviewing the performance it would be 5 stars. Cabaret performance was amazing The food was just OK. Chicken breast was so dry I couldn’t finish it. The steak special was good but veggies were cold. Dick Hay Pie was delicious. We will come back but will pass on dinner.

It was my first time to a caberet, and we saw… Caberet! The seats are arranged around the stage and upstairs balcony. Our balcony seats were superb! But some seats looked a little less desirable, but they are all intimate and classy. Their receptionists will guide you through your options and are super helpful with any other questions you have about your reservation. Dinner was excellent as well, and our waitress chose the perfect wine pairing for our entrée. The show was phenomenal! We’re still singing about it. Performers were great, the band was great, the lighting was great. Caberet was exquisitely seductive! Perfect!

Amazing production of Cabaret!

Saw a good friend in Dames at Sea. Great performances! Great service, wine and food amazing. Get the Dick Hay Pie! Service was wonderful, aside from the bald judgemental jerk of a waiter. Best seats look like balcony seats. Cute place!

This place gets overlooked because Ashland also offers great theater thru its Shakespeare Festival. I Took a date to a show here and had an amazing time. The theater has an intimate feel, which adds to the performance. You can get there early and have dinner or order a dessert/​appetizer that will be ready at intermission. Try the Dick Hey Pie.
We saw Ain’t Misbehavin’ which offered a glimpse back into the Harlem Renaissance. Spectacular music, amazing performances. All the characters were memorable. I would definitely come back here.

It was my very first cabaret show and my first time being in Oregon. It was quite a treat. The acoustics inside this theater and the set up of the whole place was brilliant. The performers were remarkable. I had a great time watching everybody, even the three-​piece live band. Another great thing about this place was their menu. All desserts! I ordered their Caramel Swirl Cheesecake while my husband had their Dick Hay Pie (it was huge!). The cheesecake was fantastic. I love delicious cakes! It went well with my hot mocha. (I shouldn’t write reviews when I’m hungry. LOL.) This will always be a great place to visit whenever in Ashland, Oregon.

If you’re thinking of going to the Cabarets latest production, Ain’t Misbehavin’, GO! The music was exciting, the actors were amazing, the costumes were beautiful and the singing gave me chills! I somehow fought the urge to stand up and dance, the energy was overwhelming! The cast had great chemistry and I felt like I was right there with them back in the 30s. So much fun!!! GO!!!

Review is for 12÷28÷13. This was our second time at the Oregon Cabaret Theatre. We came a couple years ago for dessert and a christmas show. This time around we had dinner and took in the «Wizard of Oz: Pantoland» play. It was a very entertaining play, lots of references to Southern Oregon tied into the Wizard of Oz. Had dinner here, I had the filet mignon and the boyfriend had the pork tenderloin. Dinner was fabulous and the desserts to follow were also great. If you want dinner, call ahead and let them know and show up about an hour before your show starts. If you want dessert with your play I recommend the Dick Hay Pie. We will be back!

The food portions are plentiful and the food is pretty good, but really nothing special. Pairing the food with an evening’s entertainment is nice, making the overall experience of going here pretty good and I would probably do it again (maybe), but I have experienced better food and better entertainment in other dinner theater

Top notch off — Bardway theater. Been coming for years and will continue to do so.
Be sure to arrive a few minutes early so you can order coffee and dessert (Mmm, Dick Hay Pie) during intermission.

Loved it! I was roadtripping to Ashland and the lobby man at my motel suggested the Cabaret for dinner, what a great suggestion!
I arrived way early, so I strolled around dowtown then came back. I enjoyed the exquisite fruit and cheese platter (Oregonzola…WHAT!!! Best cheese ever!) then got my grub on with their amazing steak. I don’t remember all the details, but it was superb. I had some pie for dessert during intermission.
Oh, and the show was fantastic too. Great music, great actors, the set was simple and beautiful Wonderful talent and an upbeat show that made me laugh and smile and sing along.
Overall a wonderful treat for myself. If you’re in Ashland this is a must-​do!

Last Saturday, my friend and I say «Let’s Misbehave,» a story told through the songs of Cole Porter. We arrived about 40 minutes before the show, bought a bottle of wine, asked for the cheese and fruit platter, and ordered the chocolate soufflé for intermission. All in all, food was a bit pricey, but tasted great.
The space is beautiful. I don’t know anything about the history of the building, but it looked like it could have been a church once upon a time, evident from the stain glass windows.
The building is about 2 blocks away from OSF. The style of theatre is very different from whats presented by OSF, but the quality is just as incredible. I would totally go back!!!
