My family and I love this place! I don’t live too close so I’m not there too often but my dad and my grandparents go for lunch at least a few times a week and they love it! I went yesterday for the first time and I now know why they like it so much. The food is awesome, the prices are great, and the service is amazing! I tried the fish and chips and they were to-die-for! Also everyone is super friendly here! I’ll be back :)

First, and last time I will eat at TJ’s. The place was very crowded, and one would assume that the food would be exceptional. The service was very good, but the food left a lot to be desired. It appears that the senior citizens like it because the place was mostly senior patrons; probably because of their pricing. Well, I guess you get what you pay for. I had the scallops, and they were undercooked by around 30 seconds. My stomach is telling me that they will not be staying down this evening. They are also cash only which wasn’t a problem, but some might find it to be one. Also, the tables are pretty much on top of one another, and if you don’t want people breathing and coughing on you and your food you’ll need to call ahead for a reservation for a booth.

My review was deleted from this site. But if you are black and have an out of state license the bar tender won’t serve you. She gave my husband a hard time… he’s 45. We just moved to the area and she refused to serve him unless he gave her«another form of identification». He works hard and owns a successful business and felt humiliated because of this nasty woman. Never go there!!!

Never really gave much thought to this place until I moved to Hopkinton, so I checked it out. They have nightly«themed» specials that have always been delicious and a great value. Homemade sauces and dressings are yummy. Staff is very attentive, hard working and friendly; if they don’t TRULYLOVE what they do, you’d never know. Summer is great, because of their covered and uncovered outdoor seating, and the mudslides are«legendary» for a reason. Not a fan of the meat raffles that seem to happen a lot here. It becomes a ZOO… way too crowded and noisy with a guy walking around constantly hawking the sale of raffle tickets over the speaker system. Would love it if they’d start stocking better tequila, as I’ve developed a middle-aged taste for margaritas. lol :) See you on Taco Tuesdays(their fish tacos area awesome!)!!!

Where does one begin. Eaten here many times food good and plentiful. Keno huge here actually overwhelming. I think all would agree quite an eclectic crowd here from all walks of life represented. Not the Ritz but that’s fine with the local customers who come for inexpensive good food and drink. Cash only. Staff work very hard as at times it can be really really crowded. Good place to hang watch the game or just watch the entertainment provided by the customers themselves. Come in your work clothes otherwise you will be overdressed. You won’t believe all the scratch tickets on the floor piled high. Owner a good guy.

I took my family to breakfast at this divey, yet charming restaurant over the weekend. The place has a large bar area and small-ish dining room and large patio. We sat inside. They have a breakfast buffet that didn’t look very appetizing, but they also have a small, but adequate breakfast menu. I got steak tips, scrambled eggs, potatoes and an English muffin. I think all of that came to about $ 10. Definitely a bargain and the portions were huge. The steak tips were outstanding and the eggs were fluffy and moist. A couple of us got the tips and all were happy. The ambiance here is that there really is not any ambiance. The place is very basic. But that is ok as the food is served in copious portions and the prices are reasonable. The service was pretty good, too. Try the steak tips!

Just took the family here, two adults, two kids, I had steak, we had appetizers, salad, pasta, drinks, everything solid(red sauce great!) all for less than $ 50. Nice outdoor patio. Not going to win any Michelin stars, but much, much better than one should expect at those prices. AWESOME.

Very plain atmosphere but you still feel comfortable. There is a bar on one side and dining area on the other with outside seating. The lunch buffet for $ 5 all you can eat is all home made food. Looks good but have not had it myself. I did. the ad a and cheese with buffalo wings, it was great. Today I ordered the chopped sirloin lunch, which was just a. burger, on a plate. It was good though. Side of fries. God’s as well. Staff is very friendly for the most part. A little but of a wait to be seated and to take order, but on her game after that. It’s quite for the most part, but a friendly place. The buffet area looks like a kitchen at someone’s house, so I guess you feel like you a quest in a friend’s home. Negative. Bugs, flies. I had three buzzing. around me and I could see more around the restaurant. Nothing in the food, but I know you don’t see them all.

Liked TJ’s a lot. The bartender, Tracy, was fantastic, right on top of things. The place was busy for a Tuesday afternoon. The atmosphere was terrific, football on the TV in July! Excellent burger and cold beers. Great steak fries! I’ll be back to watch the Pats.

I’m a big fan. TJ’s is great for pub food, satisfying the biker chick in me. Go hungry, bring a DD(designated driver, not Dunkin Donut).

Good prices and strong drinks. Just not a fan of overserved bikers being rude and the floor littered with lottery tickets

Stopped in here for dinner and drinks with a friend last Friday night. I have lived in Ashland for a year now and have heard great things about this place so wanted to give it a try. It did not disappoint! Food is cheap and portions are huge. I had the chicken parm and friend had stir fry which I am definitely going to get next time. Drinks are STRONG, which is awesome. Service was fast and friendly… really don’t have anything bad to say about this place. Can’t wait to go back!

Everything was very reasonably priced or cheaper than you would expect. Drinks, apps, entrees everything. Had the chicken parm meal I think for $ 10 it was a large meal, pasta was over cooked but the chicken was good. The only negative to me is that it’s a cash only place, besides that they make a good drink and keep your wallet full, I’d suggest giving it a try.

Weird experience. Bad service, bad food, weird atmosphere, unclean plates and silverware. I live in ashland and there are not many restaurants near us so I always try to look for the best in the restaurants that are close. Unfortunately, there was nothing good about this place.

Food was barely passable… Onion ring(I say ring because it was like one giant onion ring all globbed together) was flavorless and inedible. Frozen fries and wings you can get at any sub shop. 0 vegetarian options aside from pasta. I had high hopes but was terribly disappointed… Definitely local, but I’d rather be local at a place like Stone’s on the other side of town.

If you’re looking for fancy, then TJ’s is not where you want to go. However, if you’re looking for a tasty, home-cooked meal that costs barely more than you could make it at home, TJ’s is for you! This is a hometown restaurant and bar. Lots of regulars(and irregulars), but everyone is super friendly regardless. There are nightly specials, most of them under $ 10, as well as Monday Burger Madness, Tuesday Taco night, Wednesday pasta specials(some as low as $ 5!). While the inside is definitely the opposite of fancy, there’s also an outdoor deck and bar for the warm weather that provides a whole other atmosphere. TJ’s is definitely worth checking out whether you live in the area or happen to be visiting and want a home made meal you don’t have to cook yourself.
