Excellent travel store; well-stocked with ‘the essentials’ and many, many FINDS; exceptional customer service from knowledgeable, professional, friendly staff.

My husband and I went in just to browse. I ended up buying a Spanish phrase book. They have a good selection of travel books, travel bags, and other travel knick knacks… all reasonably and competitively priced. It’s a plus that those who worked there were friendly and helpful. If we lived in the area, this would have indeed been my go-to place for travel essentials :)

My favorite travel and luggage store, anywhere. Great selection of luggage, from excellent value to super-premium. Books about just about any travel destination, luggage-friendly clothing, and enough travel gadgets to get one from Rio to Tokyo and up and down the Nile. But the real treat here is the helpfulness of the owners, who take as much time as one could want to get a customers questions and orders thoroughly satisfied. If they don’t have it, they’ll get it; if they can’t get it, they’ll try to help you get it somewhere else if it can be gotten.

I go into Travel Essentials maybe two or three times a year, always to get something ‘essential for travel,’ and they’ve always got what I need. We bought some Briggs & Reilly suitcases there years ago with a lifetime warranty, and have brought the bags in numerous times for repairs, and the staff always is helpful and friendly, they get it done quickly and at no charge(B&R’s lifetime warranty is the real deal!) They know how to treat their customers, they go the extra mile, and I HIGHLYRECOMMEND!

I’ve wandered into and out of this store many times over the years, buying random things like a Bucky neck pillow and other travel tchotchkes. This trip our experience in here was exceptional. Nina’s travel alarm clock had died and she would have had about a day and a half at home before flying off to Denver, where she would need the alarm. She had a long list of tasks to take care of before she left and the more she could take care of in Ashland, the better. We stopped by the drugstore but it was closed on Sunday, so we walked across the street to Travel Essentials. She asked the young woman behind the counter if they sold batteries. No, they didn’t, but they had them. Nina explained that she thought the problem w/her alarm clock was a dead battery, but if that wasn’t the problem she would be buying a new clock. The woman got a battery out, put it in Nina’s clock and voilá! Problem solved! She refused any payment. It was stellar service. As we waited we admired the travel Scrabble set on display, replete w/Shakespearean names and terms. The other woman behind the counter had set it up and modestly accepted our compliments on her cleverness. Nice, nice people. We appreciated their help and kindness.

My search for a nice sun hat ended here with the purchase of a well-regarded Tilley Hat. And the style of this wide-brim Airflo hat was one that we could both agree on. It was also priced reasonably and with no sales tax added, it was quite a deal. Travel Essentials is also a nice and well stocked travel-related store. The folks who helped us were very friendly and helpful.
