I’m so glad I live close to S & J’s. Their subs/hoagies are so delicious, and I crave them all the time! They are now accepting debit/credit cards in addition to cash. It’s a small little grocery store with a strong menu. I’ve had just about every hoagie you can get, as have many members of my immediate and extended family. They really load them up well with meat and cheese, and, if you order pickles or peppers on top, they aren’t stingy with those either. I find that half is big enough for me to feel stuffed, and that’s even the case for my big, strong husband who can eat half a tub of Turkey Hill ice cream in one sitting. The leftovers are definitely not as delicious as the first round, so I don’t recommend buying more than you can eat in one sitting. That being said, these hoagies are so delicious that you might surprise yourself by pushing yourself to eat more than you ever thought you could! They always seem to take about 20 minutes when I call in my order. You can get local delights like Herr’s chips, Tastykakes and Cherikee Red soda in here as well. My favorite hoagies are the #7, the #13, and the #1. Give it a try or have one again! Take-out only.

Really want to give 3.5 stars. The corner grocery store of yesteryear that only sells the basics. A good spot to get a hoagie, though. The menu consists of hoagies, sandwiches and some basic salads. About $ 7 for a whole hoagie, my favorite is the turkey, roast beef and american cheese. I especially like that the roast beef is not dripping blood rare. Seems like they only use white hoagie rolls, although you have more bread choices for sandwiches. A nice sized hoagie for the price. My only gripes are the service– I don’t like attitude from people who’s business I’m patronizing and the fact that on occassion that they’ve run out of buns when I’ve tried to order(in the evening). This is cash only as well. Only one parking spot on Ashley Street, but they do have a lot behind the store.
