Sandy Spring Inspection Services

JD did our home inspection yesterday, and was amazing! He was incredibly friendly and professional, and very thorough. He took pictures of things and included them with detailed notes in his write-​up, and had it done for us early the next morning for when we needed it. We were incredibly impressed and would recommend him highly!

As a first time home buyer, I spent quite some time looking at different home inspection companies. Finally, I decided to get the house inspected by Sandy Spring Inspection Service (SSIS) so I scheduled an appointment. My expectations were pretty low — I thought that a regular inspector would quickly go through the house and throw a quick cursory look at things. Was I wrong! As I pulled into the driveway for the appointment, JD (the home inspector) was already there talking with the seller. We shook hands and my first impression of JD was great — very friendly, professional and courteous. He pulled out his ladder to inspect the gutters and the roof. He was very, very meticulous — took pictures and made notes of the roof from every single angle, pointed out various gutter issues and then reviewed the vents pointing out some defects. As he showed me the outside of the house, JD pointed out various defects that need to be fixed, but most importantly, he gave me advice on HOW to fix every single defect. To me, an intimidated first-​time buyer that has never owned a house, JD’s insight was invaluable. He immediately zeroed in on an outside leak that was not noticeable. Then, when he inspected the inside, he found some covered up mold as a result of the outside leak. JD was very, very thorough, meticulous and detail-​oriented, inspecting every single item in this 4,500+ sqft house and noting every single defect.
We could not finish the inspection, so JD scheduled a follow up inspection on his own time to complete it. What a dedication to the customer!
Overall, SSIS, and JD more specifically, far exceeded my expectations. JD went above and beyond to check everything and to inspect every single item. He also told me how to fix everything, so I learned a lot from him. There are many organizations that provide average service, not SSIS or JD. Would I use his services again or recommend him? Absolutely!

Clint Bissell performed our home inspection last week. He spent much more time than the 2 hrs we expected after calling several inspectors, checking EVERYTHING carefully and thoroughly.
We learned so much from him about quality, condition, and maintenance. The extensive written report he wrote is also thorough and full of useful information. He made the extent and severity of needed repairs and improvements very clear.
He’s definitely an above and beyond professional, and as nimble as a squirrel on a roof as well. :)

We had the opportunity to work with JD of Sandy Spring Inspection Services for our home inspection a few weeks ago. This was our first home inspection so it was extremely important that our inspector be able to explain everything he/​she was checking and why. It was also imperative that the inspector check the roof since we’re exploring the idea of putting in some skylights.
JD was everything we were looking for. He was very thorough when he inspected the home and was great at documenting any issues he saw. I would definitely use these guys again.
