Wow, I don’t know how to rate this place. Named for its location next to the railroad tracks, it’s a dank, incredibly divey, watering hole for the locals… but that’s all it wants to be. Located in a narrow old building there’s a feeling that the walls, flooring, and overall structure have shifted unevenly over its many years. It’s the kind of bar where you’d imagine a record scratching and music stopping when an outsider walks in because the folks in there truly know one another. So if you didn’t come or are not there to meet up with any of the regulars, you may feel out of place. I grew up around the area, but always have felt awkward on the handful of occasions I’ve stopped by. However, there isn’t anything anyone does to make you feel unwelcome. Generally speaking, the folks in there are pleasant — just having a good old time or drinking themselves to death. The bartenders are very nice and drinks are cheap. It is cash only, but there’s an ATM. They have somehow squeezed two pool tables and a dart board into the small bar area in the front. In the back there’s more seating, a dance floor, and even a DJ booth.
