The best workers I ever had see in this planet are in this dail grocery store. The prices are almost the best prices you’ll find in town, Service as always and will be on the top five stars. Products are always fresh and almost 99.9% of everything then you’ll need is in the store. If you get the chance and got lucky and passed by them give it a shot and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

They used to let you pay with a credit card if the total was over $ 5, without a fee, but now they charge $.75 every time you use your card, no matter the amount. So now I go a block up the street to a different shop.

This 24-hour deli has a very good beer selection, fresh sandwiches made to order, and a lot of overpriced, dusty cookies and canned goods. The dirt on some of their merchandise will make you want to call the health department. The guys who work the place are nice enough, but it’s so run down and dirty, with so much expired or near-expired food, I can barely give it 2 stars. One pet peeve: They cannot seem to keep their milk cold. Often I have purchased milk that has gone bad, and I complain, but they just can’t seem to get this nailed. Maybe they’re just skimping on their electric bill and keeping the temperature higher than it should be. In any case, never buy milk here unless you open and taste it first before you pay. And stay away from the eggs altogether.(«Stay away from the eggs!» everyone cried.) Buying chocolate candy here in the summer is a no-no. But you can rely on this place for good beer, chips, and other snacks. On a side note, the storefront is clearly visible in the 2006 movie, «A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints,» part of which was filmed on this corner(24th Ave and 31st St) in Astoria.
