Ordered 2 different platters and both were horrible the only good thing were the french fries. First and last time I go there.

After ordering food, there was an issue with not hearing the delivery but the staff was great. They ended up coming back twice with all the food and having great customer service about the whole issue. Good when something goes wrong to know that you are dealing with kind vendors that will work with you.

Fast delivery, but the gyro itself wasn’t so tasty. 5 stars for the delivery guy and 1 star for the food.

After finding that Uncle George’s on Broadway closed down I was skeptical about finding a good gyro in Astoria. I had been going to George’s since I was a kid. 31st Avenue Gyro has a pretty comparable gyro. Thank you! If your looking for a tasty no frills gyro this spot is awesome. I miss the old Astoria.

If you’re trying to win a Worst Falafel on the Entire Planet contest, here’s the spot for you. I ordered a lamb gyro(very bland, but edible because I was hungry. About a 2.5÷10) and a side of falafel for dinner the other night. I kid you not this is the worst falafel in the world. Not crispy and no flavor whatsoever. I’m still trying to fathom how producing such a food item is possible — perhaps with just chickpeas, food coloring, and a flavorless binding agent of some kind? This meal still saddens me days later. Do yourself a favor and never go here.

$ 5 card minimum. Fries are good. Speak loudly when ordering.

I just ordered a veggie burger for the first time and I enjoyed it. I m not a fan of deliveries because all food places always forget something but if they do it a second time, I tell them you have to come all the way back and give me what I ordered and no extra charge. Trust me you will see how fast they will remember to make sure everything is right or they will call you. Once in one restarant they told me they were busy and I said I’m sorry I’m busy too and I’m hungry and I waited too long and I didn’t enjoy what you gave me because you forgot something I craved for so long. I am pushy on them or else these places will not care, so you make them care!!! I must sound like those hard core Jewish woman, nope I’m 100% Greek and usually these places are my people but I still push!!!

This place is great and super convenient. Some of the hot sandwiches are hit or miss but their Greek dishes are great and their burgers are absolutely fantastic. So ate the lemon potatoes. If you’re looking for fabulous, authentic Greek food, there are definitely better places in Astoria. But if you’re looking for a good, well priced meal quickly, don’t miss out.

THISREVIEWISFORDELIVERYONLY I’ve never stepped into 31st Ave Gyro but I’ve had delivery over a dozen times. That’s a lot of gyros. It’s not the best gyro in the world but it’s pretty darn good and fulfills a craving. The tzatziki sauce is a little thin but still tasty. I always get the chicken gyro and my husband the lamb. We have to get a large order of fries because, for some reason, the fries here are like crack. They’re like breaded or something and oh so good. Last time, we got a grilled cheese and, despite other reviews of the grilled cheese, ours was melty american cheese goodness. The delivery is always super fast except one time when we ordered through seamless and it took over an hour. So, for now, I call in like in the olden days. I wouldn’t exactly call this a «Greek» restaurant. It’s more like fast food. So if fast food is what you’re after, have at it.

I’m surprised by the tone of the prior reviews. Perhaps I’ll revise this after more visits, but my first time was a relative success. I got a falafel sandwich and loved every bite. As it was very delicious, I’m only taking stars off because 1) the place seemed a little slow/understaffed and 2) I had a junk-food headache for the rest of the day. So meh, maybe it’s not the best food for you… but it will satisfy a craving for a falafel splurge.

EH not so good Al, They gave me a Greek salad with no Feta. Overcharged me for my salad and spinach pie but wouldn’t give me the difference because it was«too late.» Dont come here, its Astoria, there is better Greek.

How hard is to not add rice when the order specifically asks for no potato or rice? Now I have to pick it off of my bland overdone dry gyro.

I just went here and it’s a huge rip off. I asked for a gyro on a salad, basically a gyro with no pita and they charged me $ 9, which I paid. Then the lady handed me a tiny salad(it looked like the size of a side salad) and it wasn’t a gyro on a salad it was the greek salad with a gyro on top. So I asked if I could trade my dressing(some vinaigrette of some kind) with tzaziki sauce & she said it would be 75 cents. At which point I said nevermind and left. The bowl it came it was so small it barely had any greens in it. I could go to Manhattan and get an amazing, large salad for the same price. Boo.

The Gyro sandwhich here is very good paired with their crispy french fries. Its very rich in white sauce and the meat is seasoned well.

I see the previous reviewer had dry meat here. I have eaten here 6 or 7 times now, and it is one of the best gyro sandwiches for the $ 5 to 6 $ in Astoria. The gyro meat is always moist and juicy, they are generous with the portions, and the tzaziki(spelling?) sauce is exceptional. The people working there are friendly enough. It is not fancy by any means, though it is clean and neat.

On the deep end of 44th Street and 31st Ave, I have recently discovered this place that specializes in gyros. I have profound my love for gyros lately from halal cart to small eateries, mainly on 30th Ave. Since I do live near this deli-turned-café, shouldn’t we all just save the best for sooner? Wrong. Yes, this is a place mainly for gyros, but doesn’t live up to its name. I really thought this was one of those hidden secrets… obviously for a bad reason. I ordered the lamb and beef combo with everything and to my dismay, the meat was very sour and dry, a very hard to consume gyro. For the first time, I couldn’t finish a gyro, and didn’t want to. It was that bad. Oh, yes.
