Loved this place! Tons of household merchandise at very reasonable prices. What a surprise to find the perfect drapes for my sliding glass door at 6.99 a piece. Gorgeous! And nicer quality than ones I liked from a name-brand store for more than twice the cost. I was encouraged to bring two different colors to try, and to return the others for full refund. Since the rods were so nice, I opted to get a beautiful brushed silver one. The cashier noticed that the package was open and the brackets were missing. She sent me to Jespie who looked for the same still in the back. When that didn’t work, she searched underneath the inventory and found the missing parts… all that care for a $ 13 purchase. Friendly, thorough and inexpensive… What more could you want? I’ll follow up with how the return goes.

The GOOD: They’ve got a large selection of merchandise(if you don’t mind dollar store quality). The BAD: There’s a security guy who blocks the exit and eyes you down as you approach the door. And watch out for the floor help, those innocent looking women who quietly fold clothes and price merchandise. If they see you mess up a display or slightly open a package to look inside they’ll rat you out to a guy who will run over and loudly berate you in front of the whole store. I’ve seen it happen. The problem is there’s not much of an alternative in the area. But there are places that don’t operate as if they’re doing business in a third world country.

Surprisingly cheap. They have a wide variety of home essentials and other bargain deals. With these prices, expect the employees to be a bit grumpy, otherwise, it is definitely a go-to-place for great finds.

I wanted to support small, local business and bought a fan here. Bad idea. It broke after one month, and the three clerks insisted that without the receipt(which only offers 7 days for exchanges anyway) and original box(hahaa, whatever for? the fan brand doesn’t have a warranty) they wouldn’t exchange it. I didn’t even want a refund, and the exchange was not for preference, the fan was broken. They insisted one month is outside of their coverage, broken or not. This is not how you run a small business, or any business at all. Lessons learned? Go to big stores, only buy brand name items. 99 cent stores are only for cheap toilet paper.

Let’s get something straight. This is a cheap junk store. Do NOT go in here expecting high quality merchandise. They buy overstock and irregular merchandise. But you CAN go in here and get some neat stuff, like fitted cute t shirts for the gym for 3.99. Sweatpants to sleep or bum around in for 4.99. Pajamas for 5.99…you get the idea. Once in a while you find a treasure, like Danskin sports bras that retail for 20 bucks for 5 bucks! I have gotten cheap blinds, new toilet seats, bath mats and other house hold items for very little money. Chinese slippers– 2 pair for 3 dollars makes me holla! Get a pair in every color! Once in a while I have even scored a REALLY nice item. They had sari style tops there a few years ago. I still have mine, I hand wash it and line dry. It was less than 5 dollars and is the same exact trendy item you would buy at Urban Outfitters. I still get compliments on it. This is one of many places in Astoria that has a LOT of cool stuff if you have patience and are able to look past the surface. I have worn clothing from there to WORK(I work in a typical business casual office) and have gotten compliments. When people ask me where I got it and I say«ABC» they don’t believe me. Better for me ;)
