Really, really solid Thai place. They mostly do delivery so the dining room is always kind of empty, which is nice if you want a quiet dinner. The curry fried rice is awesome, and I haven’t been disappointed by an entrée yet. It’s not going to blow your mind or anything, but it’s a great place to have dinner.

Looking for a new place to eat and stumbled upon this gem! There was no wait to get seated, food came out fast, and the staff was exceptionally nice. The food was delicious and well cooked. There is a lot of spicy food options. I would definitely come back here in the future. :)

The food and the service was terrific here. Boon Chu 2 is cozy, the staff are nice, and each time I’ve come here or ordered from here, I have been very happy. Huzzah for delicious Thai food!

Came here last night with a group of 2 and we were immediately seated. There was only one other couple at the time. We ordered the papaya salad, Thai iced tea, thai sausage fried rice and Pad Woon Sen. The papaya salad was disappointing. It was overly spicy. Extremely sour. Not enough balance with the sweet. The sliced mangos were just okay. Probably better to get this during the summer time. Not enough salt. It needed some fresh cilantro and/or green onions. Luckily, the main dishes were tasty. I enjoyed both dishes. Both were seasoned well. They gave plenty of sausage slices in the fried rice. I would compare this dish to the traditional chinese sausage with fried rice. Not much spin to it except some thai flavors. Even though it was a simple dish, I still enjoyed it. The Pad Woon Sen glass noodles were cooked perfectly. It didn’t clump up and the sauce covered every noodle. We had gotten that dish with vegetables and all the vegetables were crisp and fresh. I personally don’t like baby corn and would recommend them changing it out for something else but that is up to them. Service was excellent. Food came out in a timely manner. Our water was always full. The thai iced tea wasn’t too sweet and had enough tea flavor in it to my liking. They could add a little less of the milk. As we were there, they gave us complimentary dessert, sticky rice with vanilla ice cream and peanuts. It was surprisingly very good. I’d definitely come back here to try their other sticky rice dishes. The décor in this place is nice. It’s clean, fairly spacious, and excellent customer service. Throughout our time here, many to-go orders were done as well as delivery/take-out. I take it that this place gets most of its business through take-outs. Overall, I would come here again and would recommend it.

Came with friends from college. Was hungry and this place was satisfying. Love the food. Was authentic. Our server was very kind. Brought out complementary dessert. The entire restaurant experience, from the dishes to the ambience, brought us a taste of what Thailand is all about. Loved it! Bring your friends!

Our waiter Palm is a very nice, genuine hospitable guy! I’m from South East Asia, so believe me when I say the food is really good! The setting is very casual and inviting. Best of all… the price! Dude… affordable is an understatement! I’m coming back for more for sure! Now some may say oh this is not authentic Thai… yada yada yada. Well let me tell you… unless you’re SEA-sian, you probably can’t handle the strong aroma and volcano spiciness. I know because I grew up eating those kind of food! For that go to Thailand ok… For me, this place is great!

Food was tasty with a ton of flavor! I love their cashew nut dish with beef. However the rice was a little dry, but we’ll made up for with the main entrée. Lunch special is a great deal!

I love this Thai place, I’m glad we have one in Astoria! I highly recommend the Fried Red Snapper with Mango salad, their prices are very reasonable and everybody there are friendly. Palm(manager) is great to all the customers. Their service is awesome. When family and friends come to visit I take them here. They enjoy it very much. Over all I give them 5 stars!

I’ve tried several of their lunch specials and everything was consistently bland. The chicken, the vegetables, the curry/sauces, etc. With the exception of their steamed chicken/shrimp dumplings which I do enjoy, everything else is subpar. The pad thai is usually overcooked and in fact too sweet which even remotely decent pad thai shouldn’t be. While their lunch special is a pretty good deal with an entrée and your choice of two sides for 6.95, do you really want to sacrifice good taste for the price? Get what you pay for, amiright? I’ve never dined in, only ordered take-out so can’t much about the service.

I should go back to Thai Elephant for bland uninspired Thai takeout. At least theirs is edible and not overcooked, unlike Boon Chu 2. Spring rolls: 70% roll, 30% bland unidentified filling. Boon Chu noodles w vegetables: doesn’t seem they added more veggies beyond the basic recipe except green beans and overcooked mini corn. Broccoli is also cooked to death. No flavor that I can tell — it’s overpowered by the watery Tabasco vinegar-based type hot sauce they put on top because I asked for it spicy. No thanks.

I decided to pop in here for a quick bite to eat while getting my phone fixed. Like everyone said, there were probably only three tables full when I walked in. And one server for the entire place. Oy. I ordered the shrimp kee mao and a Thai iced tea. The food came out fast. A little too fast. It wasn’t anything special, aside from the fact I was relieved the cook had cleaned out the shrimps before cooking them. I was finished in 15 minutes. I felt so badly for the server. He was literally manning four to five tables at a time and running around.

The food is bland… and always empty… today. i think i discovered why. I found the longest hair in the middle of my noodles. not on top of the dish… in between the noddles… disgusting!!!
