I reached out for a quote from Sebastian solely based on his phenomenal Unilocal reviews and he was able to give me a brand new hard drive for a great price… he even delivered my computer to me across town when it was finished! I know next to nothing about computers and he answered all my dumb questions with grace. This guy is honest, his price is reasonable, and he even gave me advice for future computer-​related purchases. Thank you so much Sebastian!

If I could I would give Sebastian 10 stars. Bottom line is he is very honest and went above and beyond to help me. I brought him my dead laptop thinking the power port was the issue but after diagnosing it Sebastian said it was completely dead, needed a new motherboard, graphics card, etc. The manufacturer’s warranty expired just a month ago so I was out of luck. Sebastian recommended that I call my credit card company to see if they offered an extended warranty and sure enough they do! If it wasn’t for him I’d be stuck with a very expensive and useless paperweight. Also the initial estimate to repair the power port, if that indeed would have been the issue, was much cheaper than anywhere else by quite a few dollars. For any future computer issues I will go to him and no one else.

Sebastian is beyond helpful. I’m not computer genius, but he really explained everything short and simple. Had the color wheel on my iMac and he was able to fix it in a couple of hours. Don’t try and check other spots, do yourself the favor and just go to him.

I’m minding my own business, typing away on my Lenovo, and realize oh no, the entire left side hinge is loose and causing the whole thing to not go up and down. Those damn subway poles are brutal and I’m 99% sure it got whacked on one.
Realized if I wanted to ever take my laptop outside of the apt again I had to get it repaired to make sure the hinges are fixed. I looked on Unilocal as I usually do and fired off like 12 quote requests. One minute later, at 11 pm at night, Sebastian was the first to respond. He said he wanted to see the laptop to assess the issue himself. Seemed fair. Met him at his shop (which is in his apartment, just FYI) the next day. and he diagnosed it and fixed it a few hours later. Extremely, extremely good price. He even gave me like three different options on how I could pick it up. Sebastian was super nice, knowledgeable, and accommodating. If you have a computer/​laptop issue, this is the place you want to go even if you have to travel a bit to get there as I did.

Sebastian is great — very kind and hospitable! I had an issue with my computer screen, and he was able to see me the same day. Sebastian helped me find the cheapest screen replacement, and on top of that, he was able to fix it in less than a week, where as going to Best Buy would have taken up to a month.
Definitely go to him with any IT issues!

I dont usually write reviews, but feel almost a social responsability to do so now. GO HERE. I’ll tell you why: I send a message for a quote, got a very quick reply from sebastian asking me to call him back, apparently the issue I had was quite easy to fix (though I could have been told otherwise as I had no clue) and he said this was something I could fix myself and voluntarily guided me over the phone.
Apart from the fact that he was very knowledgeable and straight forward, one doesnt find easy this honest people in NY. I have saved his number and if I have any problem with my mac I’ll go straight to him. I just found a gem! A honest, helpfull and knowledgeable technician in NY!

I damaged my laptop when I spilled a liquid on it. I called a few places in both Queens and Manhattan, and they all quoted me higher prices than Sebastian.
Additionally, I opted to have my drive upgraded to a more powerful solid state rather than a standard rotational one. Sebastian was able to do both repair my laptop and upgrade it without me losing any data or software. All this was done at a reasonable price.
Finally, Sebastian personally delivered the fixed and upgraded laptop to my home.

At first I was nervous since the place was in a residence, however, I was greeted with someone more knowledgeable and helpful than anyone I’ve ever dealt with at any other tech support business. I paid for a computer fix, what I got was the 411 on how to maximize the potential of my computer. He knew not only what to do to fix my built-​in camera issue, but more importantly, to speed up my computer as a whole.
Accepts Paypal. Was amazing with Macbooks. Reasonably priced.

First that all, Sebastian it’s a great guy, he is very professional and honest, he is not going to charge you over priced or anything; he keeps you informed on everything he plans to do for the repairs and wait for you to approve all the time.
When my laptop broke I send messages to different companies on Unilocal asking for quotes and help, he was the first to reply and with a few questions he already knew what the problem could be.
100% recommend it.

Brought in 5 old laptops, all of which had problems. The owner (Sebastian?) looked at all of them, explained that none of them were really worth much and was able to figure out one of the bunch did actually work… it was my power adapter which wasn’t working for this particular laptop. Didn’t even charge me! Very straightforward and honest, despite his Eastern European accent :-)

If you are in Astoria or LIC this guy (Sebastian) know what he is doing and is reasonable on pricing. Had a new Battery installed on a Macbook air and also format the SSD drive. 2 day turnaround and $ 225– less than most «shops» would charge

It’s a little out of the way (I was afraid I was gonna knock on a residential door by accident — but I probably would have seen the sign during the day) but Sebastian runs a lean, mean operation. I’d broken a couple keys switching my key layout to dvorak and Sebastian popped a couple new ones in right in front me, all while giving me tips for future use. Great service and very reasonably priced. Absolutely intend to keep ComptechNYC in mind for any future repairs I don’t have the skill to do myself.

An easy 5 stars. Sebastian replaced the keyboard on my Macbook Pro same day, and everything went perfectly. Very friendly and professional guy, and a very good price. Most importantly, does the job right.

I dropped my macbook air and dented the case so that I could no longer attach the charger or plug in a flash drive – the repair quote in manhattan was «minimum $ 501″ – naturally I wanted a second opinion so I found «Comptechnyc» on Unilocal and gave Sebastian a call.
Sebastian completely fixed my charger/​flash drive issues for $ 115. He gave me a (100% accurate) quote after I texted him a photo of the damage. When I dropped off the laptop he opened it up in front of me and assessed the situation. He was very transparent about what was going on with my laptop and explained it all clearly. Then he fixed my computer in about an hour.
I could not be happier or more grateful.

Who wouldn’t be skeptical of a business with only 5 star ratings? The guy is super nice, he’s very honest and fair in terms of pricing and he’s very fast about it. I broke a hinge and he got it back to me in 3 hours for a quarter of what lenovo was going to charge. The dude is worth it and he explains everything.

My 2010 iMac was not booting up, and needed a new hard drive. Sebastian clearly explained my options for a new hard drive, along with more ram. He picked up my iMac (I live in Astoria), replaced my hard drive, added more ram, and dropped off my computer at night. All SAME DAY. Amazing customer service.

Sebastian, unlike the other PC repair services in this area that I’ve tried, does everything right! He does great work, gets the job done fast, and charges reasonable rates. He is kind and courteous and explains everything. He even threw in an extra repair for free (he fixed the broken power jack on my laptop, which broke a few months after another repair service fixed it) and delivered the finished computer for free too! If you live in Manhattan, it’s well worth the trip to Astoria. He is now my go-​to guy for any PC repairs, especially for laptops.
Since I’d successfully done repairs on old desktop PCs, when my screen broke on my Dell Inspiron laptop I thought I could fix that too! Wrong! I quickly discovered that laptops were hard to fix and I was in over my head.
I brought it to Sebastian and he fixed the screen repair I’d botched and found a couple of other issues (including a motherboard that needed cleaning) and fixed those too. I feel like I have a brand new machine.
I had so many horror stories from other PC repair places in Manhattan. They all did shoddy work (or in one case ruined my computer completely), charged astronomical prices, were rude, and took forever to get the job done. I had the impression that there were no good PC repair places in this area.

My work of 4 intense days was in USB. USB died quietly. I got panicked.
I first went to well-​known tech service in Manhattan.
I was told they can fix it but it takes 1 week and cost $ 360.
If I could not fix it today, I had to re-​do all of my work.
I looked up local technician and Sebastian’s info came up.
I brought broken USB, he immediately worked on it and diagnosed exactly and guaranteed he can fix it in 3hours. For $ 65.
After just less than 2 hours, Sebastian called me back and said it’s fixed. When he was copying saved files to my external device, he actually fixed other things of my computer, too.
