They give you tortilla chips and salsa as soon as you come in. They have amazing enchiladas ^_^ and the tres leches is on point.

Came on a Sunday night with my family and really enjoyed it. Their margaritas are well prepared and cheap. Loved my enchiladas and tried a bit of the chimichanga my brother had. Really good! Can’t wait to come back!

Overpriced and bland Mexican food. Burritos and fajitas had no kick to them at all, and I found it strange that they use mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar or Jack — didn’t help with the lack of flavor. Disappointing and totally not worth it.

My review gets a star because i was really dissapointed in coming in here for lunch. The service was good. The waitress was really nice and on point with everything, what got me upset is the food. I came in with my partner. We wanted to ordered some fajitas for two, so the waitress recommended«Mixed fajitas» the platter is $ 19.95 it comes with rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole(small portions) and 3 tortillas… Ok so we dont like beans so i asked her if she could please change the beans for more guacamole. The food was Out, when she bought it to the table it was a small portion of Mexican Rice and the extra guacamole that i asked for was the same as nothing, as soon as she put the mixed fajitas on the table i was like are you joking? It had only 2small shrimps like 4pieces of chicken and 4 pieces of beef the rest was onions and peppers. I couldnt believe i was getting charged 20.00 $ for this when i had Margaritas right around the block. We were so upset. We could only had made 3 little tacos out of the tortillas. This is ridiculous. We are not coming back here, we rather go ahead and eat at Margaritas around the corner which give us more food or Elcoyote at northern blvd which is way better a 18 $ fajitas platter fillsup 2people and you could still have enough to take home.

Wow, I have never been so disappointed! We were looking forward to having some good Mexican food and margaritas. With Las Margaritas(vom) just a few doors down, this place HAD to be good! Meeeh. I was confused immediately upon entry. It looked like one of those amazing Mexican places I frequented deeper in Queens(low key, some decorations, seemingly authentic) but then there was this unnecessary strobe like flashing by the front door. Then there was that loud bachata. Maybe the margaritas and food will be different? We decided to go ‘traditional’ — give me the gold standard with salt. It was meh and influenced our food order too. We had to go with the simple classic, chicken quesadilla.(I only order this because I am nervous about ordering and needed to benchmark a place). «Con todo?» «Si, por favor, gracias» When the quesadilla showed up, it looked like it was made by a Qdoba chef; like the quesadilla I had in college because. I didn’t know better. A dry tortilla with some queso and cheese in it. A small ramekin of guac on the side to lubricate it. Nothing else. The waitress then disappeared for what seemed like 15 minutes. The kitchen staff were hanging out by the bar and ignored our attempts to remedy the food. It was pointless. Never again.

Quesadilla was really minimal. 3 pieces with very little cheese and nothing else inside. Came with sauces on the side and some lettuce to put in it but for over $ 10 I was definitely expecting more.

The food here was great. Great drinks as well. The prices are reasonable. The environment makes you feel like you’re in another country. I would recommend anyone to go here at any time.

My first visit here. I ordered veg nachos which were good. And a Jamaica drink. While I waited for my veg burrito. Diana was a very good host. I wish they use more fresh jalapeños and not the canned ones as they are not a cheap joint but a proper«sit down» place. Music can be a notch down. I’ll be back to try other items.

I ordered chicken fajitas, the place is empty right now as I sit here writing this review but the server is busy writing out«sale» posters instead of refilling my cup of water. The bottom of this plate is full of oil. The chicken that was in this plate appeared to come out of a deep fryer. So disappointed I had higher expectations. The guacamole is much too salty. This place used to be called something else, it was so much better when it was. This place is a great let down. Won’t be back! To the owner if you see this, there are so many options for Mexican food in this area, in order to be competitive you really need to serve good food and be attentive to your customers.

Boyfriend and I Sunday brunched here with a Groupon he bought. It was empty except for two Mexican families — signaling to me that it’s an authentic location with Mexican clientele. We split an appetizer of guacamole, I got the Huevos a La Mexicana, he got his signature dish, the Huevos Rancheros, and we finished with tres leches. Everything was the bombdotcom. I normally don’t even like tres leches, but I liked it here. Given the price point, I dub Cuatomate a 5-star place. And yes, I’d recommend it even without the Groupon!

¡Delicioso! Had the most delicious burrito, my roommate had the quesadilla… We are more than satisfied with the outcome. It has fun upbeat music and colourful walls and décor, not very busy but it’s quick and delicious. We will definitely be coming back soon. Originally from California so we are picky on our Mexican food. Very very good.

My 15 Dollar shrimp Burrito had 7 pieces of Small shrimp and was not possible to eat with out a fork and knife because they decide or decided not to close the burrito but serve it like a quesadilla… This place is horrible, 2nd time coming here… Didn’t fail to disappoint once again… How am I sopposed to hold my burrito when they decide to drench it in cheese sauce over the burrito… Had absolutely no flavor. Skip this place… Based on 1st and 2nd Visit, learn how to make a burrito. Please!!! 2 Stars for Good service! Oh wait… Kids bowl of complimentary nachos for a party of 6… Stingy!!!

I came here for the first time with my boyfriend for dinner. Let’s Begin! So the margaritas are absolutely heavenly, the fruit flavoring with the alcohol was a lovely potent mixture. I tried the passion fruit and the pomegranate margarita, both were good but I preferred the passion fruit. We shared a chicken quesadilla as an appetizer, which was served with guacamole and two different types of hot sauce. It was quite delicious. For our main course we both had enchiladas, his with mole sauce and mine with green sauce. They were both pretty okay; there was not much seasoning or flavor to it. The waitress was an absolute sweetheart however and was very attentive and she even recommended churros for desert. The churros were presented very elegantly with strawberries and some whipped ice cream for dipping; it was absolutely divine. Overall, I would definitely come back here for drinks and those churros.

My boyfriend and I randomly stopped by this place to get away from the heat during their Monday Happy Hours. We ordered the Tajin calamari, mixed fajitas, and a glass of Tamarin frozen margarita. We started off great with free bowls of delish(don’t know what it is but it was extra delish) chips and salsa. Although the calamari was a bit too tart due to either lime or lemon juice, it was OK. The mixed fajita was a hearty portion for two of us take some leftover home. In terms of service, the waitress was on point. She even kindly packed all our leftover neatly. The price was lower than what we expected for the amount of food we had. Overall, we had a great experience. I definitely want to go back to try other specials real soon!

If you are a true New Yorker, like me, you’ll go insane waiting for your food. If the waiting doesn’t make you go crazy, then the loud fast and high-pitch music will. The food was simply… Sort of ok, but more like taco truck food. Fortunately, I survived the noise! Yay!

I walked by on Cinco de Mayo and it was still busy at 10pm which is pretty late for dinner in Astoria. I couldn’t celebrate cinco de drinko without some Mexican food and a drink. So I went in and sat at the bar. Everyone was hustling and my order was taken. I got a frozen mango daiquiri and pork chimichanga(I have a weakness for fried burritos). While sitting the waitstaff was nice and made small talk. Wi-fi is free and the atmosphere was great ! I got my food and the bartender asked me if I liked spicy and put the chili lime seasoning on the rim of my next margarita on the rocks and it was perfect. I really appreciate when people suggest good drinks. Shout out to Richardo the bartender that took such good care of me, I will absolutely come back.

This place had a ton of really cool positives and a bunch of negatives for me. So, it’s time for a list: Pros: 1) Mmm, delicious salsa! They add what seemed to be bell peppers to give it a nice flavor and kick. Yummy, 2) Cheap prices! Seriously, we went with an Amazon social deal and had to spend 30 dollars and we ended up ordering a bunch of stuff just to make the deal worth it. I would definitely go back considering some of the breakfast/brunch dishes are single digit prices. 3) It’s a cute little restaurant. Has that cheesy multi-colored décor that definitely promises good Mexican grub, nothing too fancy. 4) Guacamole was good! Creamy and smooth, no fuss. 5) Chorizo Hash was deeeelicious. I would totally order this again. A little misleading of a title since it’s more a rice dish than hash, but it didn’t disappoint either way. Cons: 1) Service. It’s slowww. Stuff takes a while to come out, and getting the attention of the staff who stood behind the bar with their backs to us not paying attention just made for frustration. 2) Orange juice seemed to made from concentrate with not a lot of anything but water. 3) Nachos were just okay. The beef on top was a little chewy and I wasn’t a fan of the cheese. A so-so dish for 12 bucks. Unilocal’s A-OK descriptor for 3 stars about sums it up for me.

This has to be one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. As recommended by previous Unilocalers, my friend and I had margaritas. AMAZING. So delicious, not bitter like I’ve noticed in other restaurants. My friend ordered chicken fajitas which came with rice and beans, guacamole and sour cream. Hot, fresh, delicious and tender. I ordered the chicken burrito with avocado– every ingredient was so fresh and not doused in cheese. It came with a spicy mole sauce and some guacamole which complimented the burrito nicely! My only recommendation is to provide more nachos to nibble on while we wait– the bowl was so small! What was it nachos for ants?(still didn’t discourage the 5 star rating it was so good!) Other than that, the service was great, the price was extremely reasonable and the food spoke for itself. Give this place a try and see if the amazon local deal is still available!
