Great spot for brunch on the weekends! Stopped in here one Saturday after a haircut to have brunch with a friend. We didn’t make a reservation and it was pretty busy so we just ended up sitting at the bar since it was just two of us. It’s only a $ 16 price fix and it includes your entrée, coffee and one beverage — mimosa, bellini, bloody mary or orange juice. For $ 20 extra, you can add on unlimited drinks! I had the Garden Frittata — artichoke hearts, leeks, asparagus, and olive oil whipped ricotta. The whipped ricotta really made this dish! It was delicious alone with the veggies, but the creaminess was perfect to finish this frittata. Service was great and bathrooms were clean. I love the ambiance of this restaurant because they have cute tables with couch seating that’s semi-private with the curtains they put up.

I came here after going to the movies for the dinner part of ‘dinner and a movie’ with my date. This place had really good reviews here on Unilocal and I was in the mood for pizza so I thought it’d be perfect. For a Saturday night parking was easy enough and when we arrived the place had seats in the front to sit us immediately. The décor/ambience was perfect for a date and the food did not disappoint. We ordered bacon wrapped shrimp and calamari as appetizers and shared a margherita pizza. Sadly we did not get to try the wine as beer sits better with pizza in my opinion but there’s always next time!

DiWine is a great pick for brunch in Astoria. I was very pleased to see this place busy, but not swamped at 1pm on a Saturday. Better yet, they play(very good) live jazz during their brunch hours, so for a music fan like me, that’s always a plus. The prices are reasonable: the $ 16 pre fixe includes coffee, a mimosa/bellini, and an entrée. For my meal, I went with the steak and egg panini, which also featured melted mozzarella and sautéed onions. It made for a crispy and tasty sandwich, even if the steak, while cooked well, could taste under-seasoned sometimes. Every panini also comes with a small salad(the balsamic vinaigrette was on point, FYI) and an excellent«potato pancake.» Think of the pancake as a large, high brow tater tot with a crispy exterior and soft interior. It also may have been my favorite part of the whole dish! Considering that we didn’t have to wait for a table(albeit a party of 2), and that the service was so considerate and the food so solid, I can’t wait to go back for DiWine, whether for brunch or a casual dinner.

DiWine is Delovely… Delicious and I was DELIGHTED! I came for brunch because my friend Emily has a singing gig there . Let’s start with the ambiance : It’s a small neighborhood hood type bistro. It was intimate with 3 curtained booths on the right and tables and chairs in front and back and a comfy bar. The bathroom is spacious and clean and I loved the wall paper! The staff: Attentive without being pushy and helped with my party’s questions… ok my questions! The Food: Outstanding!!! Fresh and nice portions… I had the Steak Panini which came with the most delicious potato cake and mixed green salad and my friends had the Smoked Salmon and Poached eggs. I had a Bellini and my friends had Mimosa. The potato cake was the star… it’s like a puffed up potato latke Value: For $ 16 we had our entrée and 1 drink… it’s an extra $ 20 for Unlimited booze but we weren’t in a Let’s-get-smashed mood… tax and tip it came to $ 21 each… what a bargain! I definitely want to return for dinner! DiWine is a great destination!

The décor was magical. My friends and I had a booth. It was very personal/intimate. The background music wasn’t too loud. I had a great time with my friends and couldn’t really hear other saround me. The mussels were plumped, sweet and juicy. I couldn’t stop dipping bread in the sauce. The Mac and cheese was flavorful. Truffle oil makes everything good. The scallops it self were amazing. I didn’t care for the beans/corn medley underneath it. The escargot was probably the worst. I wouldn’t order it again. We also had the blue crab pizza. It was not my kind of pizza. I couldn’t finish the only slice I had. The service actually a bit mediocre though. They never came by to ask how we were doing. It’s like they didn’t have enough people. The girl was sad. I can tell. I felt bad for her. Other than some minor things, I love the food. I still would come back.

I loved this beautiful space, especially the partitioned off booths on the side with lovely sheer white curtains and pretty balls of light, which I thought to be quite romantic. I came here for brunch with a group of ladies so we were seated near the front with a great view of the guitarist and singer. Yes, there was live music and it was awesome! So, the brunch special was divine: $ 16 for an entrée, an alcoholic drink AND coffee. Since I don’t drink, I just ordered orange juice. I would have liked it if they had other options for non alcoholic drinks though. I really enjoyed the coffee though. For my entrée I chose the Skirt Steak and Eggs panini, which consisted of steak and eggs of course, sautéed onions, mushrooms and mozzarella. I asked if I could have gruyère cheese instead of mozzarella and if my eggs could be fried instead of scrambled, but they were not able to accommodate my requests because they have the sandwiches pre-made. Personally, I was a little taken aback by that revelation because I really prefer it when the restaurant makes everything fresh and when ordered. However, despite this fact, it was still delicious! The steak was wonderfully flavorful and juicy, the onions & mushroom fresh and yummy, the cheese was nice and incredibly melty. The egg was kind of bland but all the ingredients worked perfectly together. The panini also came with potato cake and some salad. The potato cake was very tasty… Incredibly well seasoned, crispy and full of potato goodness. The salad was just okay but it was nice that there was both potato cake and salad on the side. The service was great! The waitress was very friendly and accommodating, and attended to our needs. I definitely had a thoroughly enjoyable time at DiWine!

I came here for the Sunday live jazz brunch with a friend and what a charming experience it was. The first thing I noticed when I entered DiWine was the french bistro meets rustic meets ethereal aesthetic that makes it such a pleasant find. The back of the restaurant is lined with private booths, lit by subdued rattan lanterns and partitioned with long flowy sheer curtains. I would love to go on a date here(did you hear that, someone? anyone?!). The $ 16 prix fixe included one drink(mimosa, bellini, bloody mary or orange juice) as well as coffee. We couldn’t substitute the coffee for tea, though, and both me and my friend aren’t coffee drinkers. That was the only downside to our otherwise great experience. As my main course I ordered the Poached Eggs + Smoked Nova Salmon, that came with potato cakes, toast and salad. I really liked the potato cakes and the salmon tasted fresh. My friend ordered the Croque Monsieur, which came with black forest ham and cave aged gruyère. She was thoroughly satisfied. You can see the full brunch menu here: The service here was pleasant. The restaurant started to fill up as we ate, but service was still attentive. The light jazz was a welcomed accompaniment to our meal. I plan to return to DiWine to try some of their pizzas, sharing plates and wide selection of wine.

Cute intimate spot off the busy strip for a nice candle light dinner or bottomless brunch. I came here on a Sunday, around 1:30pm and asked for a table for two. We were seated right away! We were surprised that there was no wait. There was also a live singer and guitarist. The vibe was great & the food was decent. I would recommend this place if you are looking for a spot that gives you a chance to catch up with friends or a date!

Okey so I had my birthday dinner here and loved it! Ambience: I picked this spot because of that! It’s super cute, and rustic, and very European feel from the wall décor to the wine to the coziness. I loved it. Although I went with a huge group of 16 people, I’d recommend going with a smaller group and getting one of the cozy booths with the gorgeous décor overhanging. I added pics of the décor that I fell in love with. Staff: pretty attentive but could’ve been better in my opinion. I think when it’s a larger group it’s hard to be attentive to everyone but I wish they checked up on us more than they did. I felt like we were constantly flagging the servers down. Gets sorta annoying when you’re here to celebrate and enjoy with your friends. Food: DEELISH! So happy I went here. And probably ate more than my body weight in food. They have a do it yourself pizza, which we got with a bunch of toppings, calamari which was AMAZINGGGGGG with the capers on top(but I wish it came with a sauce. Only downside), the salmon was cooked to perfection, and then artichoke dip was addicting! Price: a bit pricey. The drinks are about $ 12 – 15 which is normal for the city. The do it yourself pizza seemed ridiculously overpriced for $ 3 per additional topping and the other appetizers were decently priced I think. But we spent about $ 150 for two people(also including taxes and the added gratuity– due to the large group). Will I be back? Heck yes! I wanna check out the intimate couches :)

Amazing brunch place to hang out with friends with live Jazz music. And if you are hangover or need a little booze in your system, you can add $ 17 and have unlimited Bloody Marys, Bellinis, Mimosas and Screwdrivers. This place is cozy and chic. It’s mostly dim with a little bit of natural sun light, best for someone like me just rolled out of the bed and looking for food. All the brunch options are $ 15 with coffee and a glass of booze. I had the poached eggs, smoked salmon, with potato cake and salad. It was amazing! It cam with 2 poached eggs on top of a slice of smoked salmon. I wish I had more salmon but it was amazing as is. I enjoyed the music, and I like that it wasn’t too loud and I could still have a conversation with my friends. Plus the service was great, our server was amazing. Recommend! Good for groups.

I came here for brunch at the request of fellow Unilocaler and friend, Beenish. It was love at first bite, but I’ll get to the food later. Upon entering it seems like a long and narrow space yet somehow it’s divided in such a way that it gives off a warm, cozy feeling in sections. The front area has the light pouring in from the windows, and if you are there for brunch gives you a private show of the band. Btw, a really lovely band at that. The female has a beautiful voice and is accompanied by an equally good guitarist. They are great together and offer wonderful background music without overwhelming you. You can still hold a conversation with your friends without having to scream. The side booths are semi-private, slightly more intimate or can be a romantic setting with great lighting and curtains. This is directly across from the bar. Then you have the back room which is great for small groups with a back bar as well. Now my favorite part, brunch! It was difficult to decide what I wanted because it was all so scrumptious sounding and it’s my favorite meal anyway. I was not disappointed in my choice which was poached eggs served on smoked salmon with hollandaise sauce and salad on the side and let me not forget the potato cake…, getting hungry just thinking about it. All of this comes with your coffee plus choice of mimosa, bloody Mary and orange juice. I got a bacon side as well because, well just because. .bacon is best. I’m glad I ordered it because it was perfectly cooked, crispy but not burned. The group of girls I was with ordered different things and they all looked good. I’m thinking of skirt steak panini next time around or the garden fritatta. Our server was also a pleasure, very attentive and sweet. Needless to say, I’ll be adding this to the list of must go places.

I’ve been coming to diwine for yearsssss and it still remains my favorite wine bar in Astoria. The food is always perfect, the wine is always perfect, their cocktails are always great, the price is right, the ambiance is the best and what I go for. I’ve recommended this place to all of my friends and it has become their favorite place as well. The service is always fantastic and Stella has, for years, always been a sweetheart and my server of choice. They don’t take reservations for parties with less than 4 guests so if your party is bigger, make reservations ! If not go early for a nice little booth. I will for the rest of time go to diwine and rave about it to everyone that’s willing to hear me out. Must tries: Skirt steak skewers Mac and cheese Tuna tartare Cheese selection Tempranillo !!

Small quaint restaurant that is the perfect setting for an intimate date night or for a girls night out(you can make reservations ahead of time). I came here on a Friday night with a few friends looking enjoy a glass of wine and was seated in their couch area. There is an area in the middle of the restaurant, right across from the bar, with 3 tables/couches. They have the cheese sampler(3 for $ 14) that you can order to pair with your wine as an after dinner treat. There is street parking in the area so parking wasn’t an issue for us since we managed to nab a spot right down the block. The waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back to try out their dinner menu in the near future.

I’m an amateur wine connoisseur(at least that’s what I tell myself) so I thoroughly appreciate a wine bar that knows what it’s doing. Welcome to DiWine, where you can’t buy happiness but you can buy wine… and that’s kind of the same thing! Having been here many a times over the course of several years, I’ve been severely delinquent shelling out this review. Be it drinks at the warm, dark, mahogany bar in the back; dinner and wine by the bottle in their cozy, intimate booths enclosed by delicate sheer curtains; or tapas at one of their two tops in the front, you just can’t miss in this spot. Food: — Sharing Plates 1. Escargot(snails) — herb butter, sauteed spinach, grana padano; I order this almost every time I’m here! It’s practically drowning in that herb butter, yet still maintains a good balance and doesn’t overpower the other ingredients. 2. Baby arugula salad — strawberry, sweet corn, manchego, avocado vinaigrette; crisp and refreshing with the natural pepperiness of the arugula that always shines through. 3. Tuna Tartar — scallions, wasabi, mentsuyu sesame sauce; fresh, profound harmony with all ingredients without the wasabi overkill! 4. Mini Skewers — skirt steak, toast points, chimichurri; juicy, tender, drool worthy! If you’re in the mood for red meat but don’t necessarily want to get a steak, order this! *No ragrets* 5. Bistro Mussels — shallots, mushroom, white wine cream sauce; muscles a-plenty! You won’t want to share but you may be forced to! They still taste delish even after they’ve sitting at the table way too long while I work my way through them. — Mains 1. Herb Seared Tuna — spicy mango-carrot purée, roasted potatoes, olive tapenade; the olive tapenade was this dish’s downfall :(. It was way too overwhelming and intense that it drastically drowned out all the other flavors including what should’ve been the star, the fishy fish fish. 2. Diver Scallops(excluding the bacon) — corn, lima bean,(bacon), bell pepper succotash & truffle vinaigrette; I absolutely adore scallops especially with their temperament of easily being under or overcooked if you don’t treat them right ;) If you’re selective on where you get your scallop on, feel free to get it on here! 3. Crispy Salmon — Yum! Delectable! Savory!(Enter your adjective here)! — Brick Oven Pizza Main Lobster-Leek — sherry cream, asparagus, corn, manchego; more than enough to share! I’m a hard core lobster devotee! It paired well with the ingredients. I just wanted MORE lobster… or maybe that’s just me being greedy! Nom nom nom — Cheese Board Reasonably priced, select your own or ask your server for their recommendations which is what I sometimes go with. Plentiful accompaniments including red grapes, fig compote, toast, sliced apple and strawberry. Wine Recommendation: I’ve tried several of their whites and reds and while wine is a matter of preference and pairing in my humble opinion, you can’t go wrong with Italian or French, or Cali for a domestic taste. Just go, you’ll love this place as much as I do!

Does this place really need another 5 stars along with the other 500+ reviews? Yes. Great brunch, live music, attentive server, not crowded, and crème brûlée on point. Got the unlimited for additional $$ but I had 4 bloody Mary’s and about 4 ½ mimosas within 1 ½ hours so I’d say it’s worth it! And the server refilled without me asking. Even warned me when my time was up so I could chug my glass before refill! That’s what unlimited is all about! Egg and salmon was fulfilling and delicious with the perfect oozing poached eggs. That potato pancake was the best part of the dish though! Must get the potato pancake!!! Banana bread French toast was really good but just not enough. Could’ve had a loaf-load, Ha! Scrambled egg with cheese were good, would rather have melted cheese instead but still ok. Finally, the cream brûlée was the best with I think a hint of gingerbread flavor??? So good. I’ve had dinner here once before and remember it being good but this brunch was surely a win. Definitely recommend!

Awesome wine bar in Astoria. Nick the bartender is really awesome. He’s fun, is totally great to chat and crack bad jokes with, and makes excellent cocktails. I had an Old Fashioned that was fantastic and a couple dirty martinis made special for me. I was waiting for someone who was running really late, and found myself in the company of regulars who were more than enthused to strike up a conversation with a random stranger like me. Between Nick’s jokes and their conversation, the time just flew by and I was almost a little sad when the person finally arrived and I had bid them goodbye. It was kind of a random night, but awesome at the same time. I didn’t get to try the food out, but the menu sounded amazing and definitely would get food here next time if I’m ever in the area.

Give me a wine. Buss DiWine! Your romantic Date Night Destination. DiWine is an easy 5 Stars. I loved everything about this place. I haven’t frequented many wine bars but this is your 1st stop for a romantic evening. Well equipped with a full bar, sheer curtained chic bungalows for semi-privacy, plush suede studded couches and gourmet eats to match. I read all the positive feedback from my fellow Unilocalers and chose this as a runner up for my date night destination. My date has classy taste, so he opted for DiWine on a Sunday night. We entered and were advised to sit anywhere of our choosing. We opted for the last sheer valance bungalow left. The couch seating was comfortable and the candles and lighting made for a relaxing alluring ambiance. DON’T GETITTWISTED by the romantic ambiance. They were definitely playing NAS when we stepped in. The music was very eclectic. Great variation of Marvin Gaye, Indie, Hip Hop etc. We ordered cocktails and I sampled the French cream. I wasn’t pleased by the overbearing glass size or taste. The waitress offered me the Berry Martini. Filled with delicious berry purée and a generous amount of liquor. My date enjoyed his gimlet that was made strong. For Meals we ordered the Salmon dish with sautéed spinach, Crab Cakes and Florentine Brick Oven personal pizza. Everything was exquisite! The chef really loves his job. The attention to detail, the overall presentation was just… a masterpiece. Let’s talk about these Crab Cakes– Stacked with crab. Seasoned to a T. Paired perfectly with a Greek style Cucumber salad that was ORGASMIC. I cleaned the plate. The brick oven pizza featured fresh prosciutto, spinach, ricotta, tomato sauce and quail eggs. This pizza was heavenly. The fresh ingredients just heavenly. The prices here are worth it and affordable. I couldn’t stop complimenting the service, décor and food. My date kept asking if I wanted to start drafting my Unilocal review. We had a wonderful evening well spent. I loved everything about this venue. I will be back like Arnold S.

Astoria is one of those neighborhoods that intrigues me, but I never venture here due to limited subway accessibility and parking. I came here on a Sunday for brunch with a very large group of 15. From the start, the waitstaff were very accommodating and helpful! It was very much appreciated! The brunch menu has a good selection of egg dishes and breakfast pizzas for a fixed price of $ 15, which comes with a coffee and a drink(Bloody Mary, bellini, mimosa, orange juice). For an extra $ 17 plus automatic 20% gratuity, you can choose to get their bottomless brunch, which includes all of the aforementioned drinks and others like screwdrivers. All the drinks are watered down and just okay. I had the breakfast lox pizza, which was also just okay. I wanted to try something new, and was underwhelmed, despite being a huge lox fan! I tried the other pizzas off of others’ plates, which were much better. My favorite was the Morning After, with arugula and prosciutto(and I don’t normally like arugula!) As tends to happen with large groups, we hung around long after we finished our meal. At no point did we feel pressured to leave. 5 stars for service, 3 for food and drink.
