Domenick’s Wines & Spirits

I was visiting my aunt when I came across this place. I don’t drink and I have only found one wine that I can tolerate. My husband and I have been trying to branch out, so I stop into wine stores from time to time to stump them :)
Well, the person that helped me, Ivan, was great. I gave him the whole spiel, told him the one wine I did like and then told him to have at it. He gave me three different options right off the bat. When trying to decide between a strawberry mascato and a peach one, he brought up something I never would have considered. It was something along the lines of ‘I don’t really drink the ones with color because they have food dyes. Why would you want to drink that?‘
Great point Ivan, great point. I usually look at labels because I’m a picky eater but that made a lot of sense to me. He also gets extra points because he didn’t try to up-​sell the more expensive wines.
I ended up *loving* the mascato that I got, so much so that I’ve bought 3 bottles since then. If I didn’t live on the opposite of the world (near the Brooklyn end of the Q line), I would definitely go back. Their prices are also much better than I’ve found in my neighborhood.

I’m so happy that this store is in my neighborhood. They always have a great selection, and the staff is great with customer service and recommendations. I don’t even have to look anymore, I just tell them what I’m craving and they nail it every time.

My favorite go-​to spirit store here in Astoria. The prices are fairly low and there is a large selection of whiskey, vodka, and wine!
I suggest coming here for a whiskey bottle because the prices are lower than most places in NY that I’ve seen and there is a wide range of options. I went and bought a Bulleit Rye for about $ 16 for a the smaller version which is perfect!

I love coming back here! Ivan is very good with customer service skills and knowledgable about wines.

I needed a lot of a certain wine. Victor ordered it and delivered it the next day. I would go there again any time. The prices are good and Victor’s service is part of the reason.

I love this place… It’s conveniently located steps away from my apartment. It’s clean and well kept and the staff are extremely knowledgable. I would especially like to thank victor. He helped me find the perfect scotch for my fiancés birthday. He drinks all types of scotches and has a legit bar full of them at home so I was looking for something that I didn’t recognize but still of good quality. I was trying to figure out this scotch and victor gave me this bottle of Oban scotch (it seemed familiar but I knew my fiancé didn’t have this) so I bought that one and he loved it! He told me he was wanting to buy it bc he had tried it elsewhere and wanted to have it at home to enjoy with a cigar… anyway so glad they were able to assist me here and I will be returning … Place is so much better than grand bc quite frankly although grand has a large selection I’ve always found everything I’ve needed at Domenicks and they’re knowledgeable ! Come here !!! Let me know when you guys get your glenlivet 21 in ;)

I’ve only been shopping here since it’s relocation, but I’m happy. The staff is friendly, and they have a solid selection if booze at reasonable prices. Plus it’s located right between my house and the bus/​train — very convenient!

I will be visiting soon solely because the employee that serviced my call about the overproof vodka we need for our next event was extremely polite and humerous!

Is it possible to be jealous of your friend because his local liquor store is better than yours? Well if you didn’t believe it, I’m living proof that it’s possible. Most liquor stores are small and feel very claustraphobic. I always feel like I can never find what I want or I’m about to break something because the shelves are so close to each other. Domenick’s is the EXACT opposite. This place is huge!
Even though they were about to close and I was clearly their last customer I was able to enjoy the place and look around at my own leisure looking at everything on the shelves. The staff was very friendly and helpful with all of my questions.
Their prices seemed on point with all the other local stores if not slightly cheaper. I’d come here just for the size and variety alone everythign else is just an added bonus.
I wonder if they’d let me just rent the place out for a day and host a party, but seriously is it weird to walk a half a mile just to go to the liquor store? cause I’m about to be that guy.

This is my #1, go-​to liquor store in the area! I’ve been going here for years because, while they have consistent business, it’s never über crowded, I never feel watched or rushed, the selection is quite decent for a store of that size, the prices are good, one of the staffers is just the bee’s knees of attractiveness AND knowledgeable/​helpful ;-), and it’s really convenient to find. They have the best little nipper selction that I’ve found in the area, and I really can’t recommend them enough!

Best liquor store in Astoria! I’ve been to others in the area but Domenick’s is my favorite. Huge store with literally anything you’re looking for, for any occasion!
I saw that they also make really nice holiday baskets and gift sets. Definitely going to come back and get some holiday gifts. Perfect for a coworker or an office party, as well as, anything and everyone in between!
Staff is very knowledgable, friendly and greet you and acknowledge you right away. They help you out and always recommends something great. Ask for Victor — he hasn’t let me down with any of his picks! Definitely recommend!

This place is large and brightly lit. I mean ultra bright! Especially if you’re coming in from the darkness outside your eyes will definitely have a funky time adjusting bright.
It’s like flying insects to those zapper lights. You walk by this place at night and you’re just strangely drawn to it. Even if your liquor cabinet is full.
It’s pretty run of the mill with most common liquor and alcohol available. I wouldn’t go here for anything super unique, but if you’re stocking for a party it’s a good place to go.
