My go-to local spot for happy hour(and beyond). Small, but good beer selection. Tasty little bar pizzas for when you get the munchies. Solid jukebox with a carefully chosen selection. Great bartenders. Recommended!

Nice chill spot to hangout on a weekday or even weekend. The coolest thing about this bar is that they serve brick oven pizza ! How awesome is that drink and eat. The pizzas are delicious nice and thin best part is the crust nice and toasty, super crunchy you can add up to 10 toppings for $ 1 each.

It’s a beautiful Friday night so my boyfriend and I decided to come to Astoria to take a walk and have few drinks. As we walked down 30th avenue we stumbled on this gem. Happy hour from 4 – 8 $ 5 beers and well drinks. It was relatively quiet since it’s only 7pm but once we sat down at the bar and offered our drinks I noticed the $ 5 pizza!

I love this bar! Very friendly bartenders, pretty good prices considering the pricey area. I’d recommend a visit! :)

AMAZINGAMAZINGAMAZING!!! I really had no idea how this would turn out but we stayed there for hours! The drinks were perfect and strong but not overly strong. One of our friends recommended this and we were happy she did. The atmosphere was great and everyone was friendly. No one bothered us and it that not seemed to have a lot of 25 – 30 year olds. Perfect spot. Definitely coming back.

Great bar in astoria to chill out and grab drinks with friends. Definitely the kind of place you can invite a large group of friends to and hang out for the evening. They have excellent hapy hour specials, which include $ 3 Rolling Rock cans. Highly recommend this place!

Went on a Wednesday night after work and I was starving. Walked in and Joe was nice enough to let us order on the stop because the kitchen was literally closing. Pizza was amazing and Joe was great at the bar!

Great $ 5 happy hour on draft from 4−8pm. Plus you can get a small pie of pizza for $ 5(plain cheese pizza) or $ 1 extra for additional topping. This place can get loud from time to time. Great selection of beer though.

The good: Cheap drinks, great $ 6 shot-and-beer specials. The bartenders and cooks are all aces with Mark(nice bartender with push-broom moustache) being the standout of the bunch. The old fashioned CD jukebox is loaded with rock and roll and has zero top 40 crap. Their pizza is surprisingly good and not that expensive far as pub grub. It’s about 5 – 6 dollars for a personal pan pie pizza. Thin, crispy crust. Fresh cheese. Sweet sauce. Good amount of basil/herbs. Their pizza is better than most of the overpriced faux haute cuisine trash infesting Astoria. The place is aesthetically pleasing with local art adorning the walls and spacewise it’s usually not too terrible to find a seat and just chill because it usually doesn’t get stupid packed with drinkers 10 deep. In general it’s a laid back dive crowd just out for a good time with the occasional no neck corporate type in a Yankee hat getting rowdy. The reason I list this under good is because nothing beats seeing Mark scold those wankers like schoolchildren! The bad: I think the low prices and location in the middle of 30th «D-bag Ave» sometimes attracts the wrong crowd and can work against the bar. I’ve seen plenty of guys try to pick up chicks here and have never once seen anyone go home with a girl they didn’t initially walk in with. Maybe it’s because most of the guys in the bar have wack game? The flip side is all the women I’ve met in there fall into two categories: weirdos and/or Jesus freaks.(In a time where people snort coke and have unprotected sex in bar bathrooms hours after meeting it’s hard to believe Jesus freaks under 40 even exist.) Furthermore, This used to be an old fart bar and I think some of the dinosaurs didn’t get the memo and due to macular degeneration/dementia can’t open their eyes and see it’s NOT an old fart bar any longer.(Obnoxious out of place old guys in Mets jerseys I’m looking your way!) The ugly: I’ve seen actual subway bums in here literally stinking up the joint with that eau-de-N-train stench of warm garbage and rotting human mixed with sadness. On more than one occasion I have seen creepazoid Euro trash mother$%ers doing«The 4AM Dash» in their broken ass English well before 4am and relentlessly hitting on every girl in the joint well after being rejected. I’ve seen loads of said creepazoids go as far as waiting for the boyfriend to go to the toilet so they can hit on the girlfriend. One time a guy did that and got knocked the $%* out in the bar. Mark said«there’s nothing wrong with people hitting on girls in here but that guy comes in here all the time and does this crap. He’s classless and had it coming.» I’m all about the hustle but no means no and Mark was dead right. Regardless, I don’t need to be seeing dudes get Mike Tyson’d when I’m chilling with my mates, eating pizzas, drinking beers, chatting, and listening to «I Was Made for Loving You». In conclusion: A++ prices, drinks, food, service. Crowd can sometimes be degenerates. I’ve been going there since they opened and I’m going to keep going there but unless something big comes along and changes my mind it won’t ever be a place I sit down and spend the entire night. It’s a good stop along the way.

This place is best describes in one word: Chill. Chill music, chill people, chill vibe. Cheap drinks(pbr can & a whiskey shot for $ 6) I hear their pizza is really good as well. A bar to kick back with a friend, not to have a party and turn up.

It took me a long time to finally stop in Dominie’s. This place is always bumping with a crowd, and it’s deceivingly big. This is a great option for day drinking, or just having a quick pint with friends. The prices are awesome! That alone is reason enough to go back again and again. Another big reason to go back is they have a jukebox with actual CDs. Sure, they’re not records, but it seems every place nowadays has the online jukebox. It’s great that these guys are holding on.

A Local bar with a dive feel but not that dive/locker room smell. Been here handful of times. Dark– dimly lit– jukebox by the door. Artwork adorn the walls. CASHONLY– filled with chill– laid back Astorians. Ordered sausage pizza– thin crust and GOOD! Minus 2 stars for the annoying chick who was talking so much $hit — about healthcare then says–«OMG! You’re a nurse! I love nurses!!» Really chick?! Fail. Maybe if you had a big girl job you can have insurance and stop sharing how you scam your way through ER’s. Thank you! We, the tax payers! Would come back– minus the WGW moment. #loveeveryone

When this place first opened it smelled like horsesh*t inside. Thankfully that is no longer the case. It’s a good neighborhood bar. They have a whiskey shot/beer special for $ 5(or $ 6 with a pickle back). Can’t go wrong with that. Tips: I think there are 2 single bathrooms, it’s cash only, and well, it’s cheap, so go.

I love this place forever. I’ve been a handful of times and every time everyone has been so friendly. $ 6 beer shot = winning. $ 4 draft happy hour from 4 – 8. So chill. Pretty much my dream bar.

Such a super chill bar but it is Cash Only from when we went. We came here for New Years Eve and the bartenders were attentive and the drinks were cheap and strong(But not so strong that you can’t take it down). The music is amazingly chill and we had a great time. I’d definitely come back to just hang with friends.

This bar has increasingly become more and more of my fiancés and my favorite ! We live a few short blocks away, and for some reason we’ve been ending up here a lot. Before the night starts, when it’s ending or even staying there the majority of the night. Cheap, strong drinks, I mean who says no to that… I haven’t had any food here I read something about pizza lol idk about all of that but I will continue on coming here. I also really love the chalkboard quotes they have outside the bar that change often.

Happy Hour is not bad. Think most of their beers on draft are from $ 4 – 6 until 8pm. $ 4 wells, a shot and pbr for $ 5. I walked in here to hang out after work with someone before a birthday. It was relatively quiet for happy hour. Which is great because I hate obnoxiously loud places. Nothing is extraordinary about the place. But for some reason, it has a certain amount of Irish charm and the bartender lady was friendly enough. Don’t confuse this with Dominie Hoek’s in LI city. I don’t think they are even related. They also sell $ 4 margherita pizza during happy hours. It’s sweet, simple and humble. Minus that drunk guy that was blasted in the corner. I swear I’m not talking about myself. Edit: Actually, I think this is co-owned by Dominie’s Hoek. The lettering on the doors are way too similar for them not to be related. Though, this place still does not have an actual food menu and it looks totally different on the inside. «Dominie’s Hoek», which is actually a Dutch bar(not Irish) means«Hunter’s Point». Though, I beg to differ on all of this, because«Dominie» latin root word meaning«master» came into usage from the Romans in Scotland. And that is my b.s. spiel for the day.
