Immaculate Conception Church

I have come here for the past few holidays as this is the parish my boyfriend grew up in. So lately the past few holidays I have had the pleasure to join in and enjoy masses here.
there is a small parking lot and ample street parking.
Every time we come we sit in the smaller «chapel» area. That is their spot. while we wait for the masses to begin my boyfriend runs into everyone he knows and their mother which is sweet and nice to know the locals take pride in their Parish. I have never seen the church from the other view maybe ill request it for the next function we come here for.
I have come here for 2 Christmas Eve’s and 1 Easter Vigil. Last Christmas Eve it was packed and it was much colder out. this year it was not and it was warmer. The Easter Vigil as most Catholic churches is always a longer service. I have also been to the one at my house and it Is just a special Religious Mass.
This year for Christmas Eve it was not super crowded. They had all the these posters up around the church of the different countries that have Catholic worshipers and how they celebrate Christmas. Which was quite extensive and was nicely laminated all throughout the church. never have I seen that. my boyfriend even said it was new!
Overall the church is grand it is huge from the instead with the high ceilings and radiate sound. sometimes parts of the masses are also in other languages, Chinese, Spanish and Italian I think it nice that it gets everyone involved in the community who prays to hear/​participate with the mass that way. a really nice touch!
One thing that I noticed different is at this Parish they offer the Wine in addition to the Eucharist during Communion. I do not recall if my church does this. I will have to take note when I go to my own.

Beautiful church. They seem to have a great sense of community, as they are always running charity events. Their homilies are usually the best homilies out of all the Catholic Churches in the neighborhood.
Also, I love their variety of mass times.

The Immaculate Conception is a building that has stood the test of time and change, as it has become a historical centerpiece in the Ditmars section of Little Athens” Astoria. The church itself is restored and quite spacious. The place is clean and doesn’t have that oak /​mothballs smell that some older churches tend to have. Priests have been good here and its big enough to where there are several priests at a time (at least on weekend mass) that give out communion.
The ventilation is great, especially during summer but it can get really chilly in a hurry to where you’ll might get goosebumps on your arms. The choir is decent, but they only have those occasionally. Finally, I hate how there is no mass after 12:30PM on Sundays and the fact they never answer their phones on the weekend. Getting mass times is a pain in the neck on Sunday so here they are: 7AM, 8:30AM, 11AM, 12:30PM
