Everyone should support LOCUS just based on owner Christina’s whoop-ass reply to Judy Z. Places like 60Beans and OKcafe treat you like gold when they first need your business then once all the hipster media coverage builds their customer base they dispose of you and your laptop. We need to support more mom & pop shops like LOCUS because the Starbucksification of society will lead to the end of humanity.

Fantastic! The usual café I go to on Ditmars was closed, so I kept walking and stumbled into this place. I had the classic crêpe and it was delicious. I’m coming back here soon. Def try it… great breakfast place.

Coffee was disappointing. I found the drinks to be mediocre. I have yet to try the crepes, but don’t want to splurge on something that might not be good. A bit overpriced than what I normally pay for. However, the owner is very polite and friendly. Décor is beautiful. Maybe I will return to try the food.

Recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Locus. My girlfriend and I were looking to get some bagels for breakfast and decided to stop in. Initially the place looked nice/somewhat friendly but the woman behind the counter ruined it. We had empty coffee cups with us and before asking if she had any bagels, we trashed them in the garbage can. She replied coldly, «we don’t have any bagels, just whatever we have left» and pointed to the counter where a few crumby looking muffins were piled. Sensing her attitude, the allure of this place fell flat and of course there were no bagels. Given all that, we decided to leave but for some odd reason the«woman» felt it necessary to add one final comment. «NEXTTIMEYOUCOMEIN. Don’t use my garbage to throw out your trash. I find that be VERYRUDE!» Killed our whole morning and we’ll never go to that little hole in the wall again.

Come here if you like extremely rude service. I stopped in with my boyfriend asking if bagels are on the menu. The short haired employee with no eyebrows rudely pointed at the muffins and said, «whatever is on the table is what we have». That’s fine, but I guess what surprised me was when the scowling short haired no-eyebrow woman waited till after we decided to leave to say, «Next time you come in here, don’t use my trash can and leave. I find it very rude.» What a cold, and uninviting café!

I love love love this place! Everything is delicious and made fresh. From the crepes, to the soups, to the coffee. I eat here at least once a week. The owner and staff are nice and laid back it’s refreshing, not your typical New York experience. Love Locus!

This is a nice spot. Somewhat eclectic décor. Nice sweet & savory crêpe options. Some chai/tea drinks & some espresso options as well. It’s off the beaten path on Ditmars which makes it a nice less crowded option from the 31st Street area. Crêpe wise: I tried out two sweet ones and they were delicious. The sweet & sour(lemon & sugar) was yummy with a side of lemon custard. So simple but so delicious. And the one with marshmallow, Nutella(?) & fried bananas(I forgot the name of that one) but just as yummy also. The savory menu was interesting but we were two people in a dessert mood & we were not disappointed. Coffee wise: the drinks unfortunately we’re not as amazing as the crepes. Although I did order something off menu. But they were flavored lattes & I wasn’t too happy about the quality(I’ll admit my standards can be quite high for espresso drinks). The atmosphere I though was spot on. I would prefer a lower volume for the music, but the outdoor seating was a quick & simple solution to that. I also felt it to be a bit pricey(2 desserts & lattes = $ 31) but this is Astoria & you gotta pay Astoria rent so I can understand that. Overall a nice spot & a place I’d go to get my crêpe fix satisfied.

Quaint little spot tucked away farther down Ditmar(about a 10-min walk from the N/Q). Didn’t feel like getting crepes even though those are what Locus is known for, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the iced latte I got — it actually tasted caffeinated(with no added sugar) and the ice/coffee proportion was so perfect it did not at all taste watered down to the last sip. I also got a chocolate biscotti that was excellent as well, its portion worthy of the buck. Very quiet even on a weekend morning. The two bar seats by the windows allow for people-watching that doesn’t take away from the sense of being semi-secluded. Décor is old-fashioned, rustic, and eclectic. Will definitely pay it another visit.

I keep coming back for the monster crêpe and the salmon salad. They are simple yet delicious! I haven’t tried anything else on their menu but I intend on it as I just started working right around the corner. The place is cute and it’s never too crowded, which makes it a perfect place to visit during your lunch break.

Small friendly place with delicious food and coffee. This place is a hidden Astoria gem. This place is priced well, and you definitely leave with a smile in your face and a happy tummy. Perfect brunch spot without the crazy lines. I would recommend anyone to come and enjoy the delicious crepes(my personal favorite is the Hardy Hearty crêpe and a Crème Brûlée espresso)

Me and my boyfriend went to this place craving crepes. It turned out to be such an awesome little place. It has a nice area both in and outside. The crepes are made fresh when you order and everything was very fresh. They were phenomenal! My boyfriend got a sweet crêpe with brandy apples and cinnamon, then I ordered a savory crêpe with Canadian bacon, hard boiled egg, and cheese. His was perfectly sweet, and mine incredibly cheesy(which I loved!). I also got a smoothie which was delicious, and he got a lovely iced coffee. I would highly recommend this little spot for coffee and crêpe lovers.

Great addition to the Ditmars area. Super cute place with delicious coffee and yummy crepes. I split a savory crêpe(mushroom and cheese) and a sweet one(an apple pie-ish one) with a friend and left totally full and happy. :)

Really wanted to like this place, but they didn’t make it easy. Pros: –Crepes are very good, if a tad expensive. Have had both sweet and savory crepes, and enjoyed all of them. –Lovely space, in a great, out-of-the-way location. Pleasant outdoor seating is a definite plus. Cons: –Way, way, overpriced drinks. They do not post prices, so without asking it’s impossible to know. $ 4 for a small-ish iced coffee is expensive, especially when the coffee is not very good. –Smoothies are $ 6 — again very expensive, and annoying that prices are not posted on the menus. –Got the order wrong: my companion was asked three times what kind of smoothie she wanted, and each time said«blueberry-apple.» When her smoothie came, it was strawberry banana. Aside from being the wrong order, it was poorly blended with huge chunks of ice, and was generally tasteless. Overpriced, and completely the wrong order, despite multiple confirmations. Completely amateur. –The manager and the two employees present were clearly having some issues — the manager was literally pushing her employees around(grabbing them by the wrist and pulling them along), and the employees unsurprisingly looked miserable. It was an awkward environment, to say the least. To summarize: Good crepes, pleasant location, but an unfortunate combination of overpriced drinks, poor service, and unprofessional atmosphere means we will not likely return, not when there are so many other excellent options in Astoria(like Café-To-Go Creperie on 30th Ave).

On a cold spring Saturday afternoon I took a break to warm my bones from a track meet at Randall’s Island. I Unilocaled myself over the bridge to grab a crêpe at Locus Café. With the Rhythm Review playing on their radio I had a delicious crêpe called The Machine filled with chicken breast, avocado, tomato in a tasty tahini sauce. That was so good I ordered another, a caramel apple crêpe for dessert. Amazing. Delightful. Highly recommended.

I’m a regular here and have to say, this is the best place for crepes in Astoria, … all of queens and… Probably the world. The owners are really nice and take pride in their food — that’s how you know it’s good. Most people just know the basic sweet crepes, but the savory ones here are really cool. I definitely recommend trying The New Yorker — with pastrami and horseradish spread. It’s very unique and delicious and the owner, Dina’s favorite. And the best treat for desert? No, it’s not Nutella and banana, but that is an option. Try the Nutty Banana, it’s got peanut butter mousse and caramelized bananas and chocolate shavings. I would dare to say it’s become the Locus signature item, since being recommended . If you’re not hungry from reading my review, then your just not interested in the first place. The coffees are amazing, the place is immaculately clean. And I cannot wait until they can serve beer and wine. Locus is different and special and delish! You will not be disappointed.

Being overwhelmed by coffee shops and bakery’s in Astoria we decided to try Locus on Ditmars. Crepes and espresso. Nice combo! We had a savory Canadian bacon mozzarella and hollandaise. Crêpe not overcooked. Lots of protein and flavor for a ridiculously low price. The owner/Batista/cook/contractor/artist/female McGyver, gave us a complimentary homemade mousse with espresso cream topping. We had to order more coffee to go with the mousse because the pairing was heavenly. Stop by Locus in Astoria on Ditmars and be pleasantly surprised with happy taste buds!

I was super bummed when Waltz Astoria closed so I was a bit resentful about a new place opening up, but I love this place. Décor is lovely and the vibe is very chill. They stayed open over an hour late tonight because my friends and I didn’t realize they closed at 9 and were so gracious about it. Also nicely suggested that my friend and I split a tea since we got the same kind and it comes in a pot. Will define be back. They do gluten free crepes, maybe one day vegan???

What a great surprise! This is located in the old Waltz Astoria building that has been slightly modernized. They have Savory and Sweet Crepes as well as fancy coffee drinks. They also have an ottoman of games to play:) The mood is way low key, esp in contrast to the neon creperie up the street. Love it!
