Special little place. It is unusual enough just to find an independent grocery store, and this one is a gem. Stopped in for lunch, picked out a pre-made salad in a plastic clamshell from the cooler. Imagine my surprise when it arrived, freshly made, on a large glass plate. Coconut cream pie to die for. Wonderful old photos and antique grocery store memorabilia throughout the store. Espresso drinks. The place is nothing fancy, has been there since the forties or earlier, but it is spotless, and clearly tended with love. The food is straightforward, caringly made, seems to be made of good, fresh ingredients, and is quite reasonable. If I lived in that neighborhood, I would decide that whatever brand of something they carried was the one I liked.

Stopped here on a whim and was not disappointed! Had the Caesar salad and the dressing is awesome! The sandwiches had lots of meat on fresh bread. What a great place for lunch! Doesn’t look like much on the outside and vary basic on the inside but don’t be fooled.

The reviews made it sound quaint and homey. It is bare bones — not much in stock. Ordered a sandwich and was skimpy on meat and fixings. Very small and basic. Certainly not worth going out of your way to stop here.

Very cool little marketplace/deli. My husband and I are new residents to Oregon and are within walking distance to the Peter Pan Market and I have to say, what a huge convenience to have this nearby. For any small items you may need, there is enough of a selection to find something to accommodate you. Very friendly staff. The deli is amazing and I have to quote my husband when he says, «This is the best sub I’ve ever had because the ingredients are so fresh.» That definitely makes up for the petite portion size, though for me, I end up saving half my food anyway and I was actually full after just one half of my sub so… for me at least, I have no complaints. They have a nice selection of salads, bagels and desserts. Definitely worth checking out.

All it took for me was no longer encountering the one employee that put a bad taste in my mouth, and now I’d go here any day of the week. Great spot, great little deli, courteous staff. A total 180 from my very first experience!

Cute, little market that is family owned. Really nice folks run this place, so it is a pleasure to support them. Awesome memorabilia all around the store, so take a look… especially if you are into Peter Pan. Nice selection of drinks, treats, essentials, etc. Priced at what one would expect for the convenience and location. The deli is really good. Very fresh meats and breads and plenty to choose from. My only complaint was the sandwiches were a bit highly priced for what you got, but the quality of the meats, cheeses, and bread did make it less painful. I am accustomed to really big deli style sandwiches, so these were just small for the price in my opinion. Now let me share the religious experience at Peter Pan Market — THEBESTBAKEDBEANSTHAT I HAVEEVERHAD!!! Real pieces of bacon in very bite. So rich and sweet and just spank me and put my gassy butt to bed awesome!!! I am still craving them. All of their sides and desserts looked phenomenal. ALL of the staff were kind, efficient, and friendly(something lacking on the Oregon Coast — We are so tired of these attitude filled, pissy, inept drones that make it seem like you are a bother). It was so cool to watch locals come in and be greeted kindly and just have to say«the usual» and be served with a smile. Customers old and young, from the sweet elderly gentleman with the walker who wanted coffee and cheese slices to the cute kids soaking up the last rays of summer freedom coming in for ice creams and sodas… this is the way small markets used to be back in the day. This spot reminds me of a small market from when I was a wee lad that had the same cool vibe. Support local!!! Remember to try those awesome baked beans too(just save some for me!!!)

This little market has been around. Years ago, you could even buy fresh meat, and it was great. This place was also the after school stop, and I’m sure the lunch stop when my kids were in middle school during the 80’s. but I digress. I went for lunch after a 10 year hiatus– we used to eat here a couple times a month and pick up potato salad when I was too busy to make it. We moved to Knappa-land and don’t usually make a trip to the top of the hill. I was surprised the sandwich selection hasn’t changed. The salads, soups and goodies are still made from scratch. I had the ham sand on an onion bun. Just like I remembered. This is truly a mom, pop and daughter store! I will have to remember to stop again. It does get crowded at lunch… Means they’re doing something right!

Cute little market, decent soda and junk food selection. Didn’t try the deli, we just came in for a drink and a snack on the way down from the Column. It was my birthday and all I wanted was yummy carrot cake. I’ve been let down for the past 3 years with store purchased(I hang with the wrong crowd, no one will bake me a cake for my birthday! And I’m not going to spend my birthday making one for myself!) Anyway, tried the carrot cake. It was moist, fluffy, and really yummy, just what I wanted! I gotta go back for the deli, maybe my stars will change.

I love the deli here. Everything I have ever ordered has been great! Sandwiches, salads, soup, chili, deserts, I love them all. In-house eating areas are limited, so if you go during a prime lunch hour it is likely to be busy inside. My experience with service here is that it is always friendly and then some. Peter Pan is one of my favorite places in Astoria to stop in for a relaxed lunch or snack. Something to note for customers using debit cards, there is a minimum charge limit of $ 5.00USD at this point in time.

The deli is fantastic, and not having to drive down the hill to get beer is convenient.
