This place is a real gem Wish it wasn’t so far from me though Besides being a little café, it is exactly what they claim to be An adult after work club I went to see a comedy lineup while there I ordered hot cider and chicken and bean wrap Free wifi! And they sell cute and unique items

I was here for a drawing session. It got packed really fast and we had to wait in line to get in. They served beers in front and the drawing session took place in the back. My friends and I sat on the stage and that was a bad choice. The spotlight were in our eyes and we could barely see the model to draw. I was seeing light spots everywhere. Next time we’ll pick a better seat lol. Will definitely be back, they have cool events going on all the time and I want to check them all out!

Have not been to Astoria for a long time and the establishments and eateries are ever evolving. Almost walked by Q.E.D– had no idea what to expect. It was not a museum nor an art gallery. Found out about this event via an ad posted in the paper for their«New Art Exhibit featuring Astoria Artist». Walked in and was greeted by a nice lady. The other woman was busy with monetary stuff and other staff member was the bartender. Place seem to be very child/kid friendly. Bartender was talking and tending to kids. There were two kids playing UNO cards at one of the tables in the front table with their guardian. Also the attendees at this event seem to know each other for there were lots of hugs exchanged and groups of people chatting away. This is a small venue. As you walk in it’s like a coffee/bar and pass straight through it is set up like a comedy club. Review is for the Art display that comprised of two artist. Right side seems sunnier and happier and as you go to the left more darker. Second artist material is definitely much darker than the first with skeletons and guns. Really, not up my alley. Their hot apple cider was delicious. Tried to get a second round but the bartender was busy chatting with another person and trying to get their email address. When it came to 7:30PM they pulled the curtain to separate the coffee/bar area for the Comedy Show which cost $ 5 and they invited us to stay. Will be back to check out their other programs

QED is one those establishments you see in movies; a place full of locals that may or may not know one another but all speak as if they’re old friends. The owner is kind and open to all people that walk through the door. Need a good recommendation for Italian? She’ll have it. Need an ear to listen to your life story? She’s got two! Not only that, but the drinks are full and fair. The price is just enough for her to pay her bills and you to keep money in your pocket as well. The comedy is top notch. We experienced 4 different comedians that kept us on the edge of our seat in hysterics. We loved this place so much, we’ll be coming back again tonight. I highly recommend this to ANYONE looking for that local joint to call«home».

I went to Q.E.D. last night for the show«Riffin’ with Kristin & Carolyn». The show was awesome. Q.E.D. is a really cool performance/event space and it has a really welcoming vibe. I ordered a falafel wrap, tea and 2 chocolate chip cookies — all were fantastic. The owner, Kambri is super nice and welcoming. Awesome place in Astoria, and I’ll definitely be back to check out more shows, also I want to try their apple muffins, as they look pretty rockin’. Definitely worth checking this place out if you haven’t yet.

I had been meaning to try this place for a while and finally got to do so this past weekend. Went for a comedy show hosted by Tracey Carnazzo and really had a blast. All of the comedians were pretty on-point, drink prices were reasonable, and it’s an intimate venue so there are no bad seats in the house. Get there early though or you may end up sitting right in the front and get heckled. $ 10 cover which is a steal of a deal for an hour or so of laughs!

A really fun space in Astoria. It’s the kind of place that you almost don’t want to write a review for because you don’t want to see it get so popular that it’s too much for you to handle. But anyway, this place has a big mix of events. Every night is different, and they get really great gigs and workshops. More than a venue for shows(which are great — e.g. Myq Kaplan standup), QED is also becoming known for having classes/workshops on topics ranging from storytelling to knitting. They also have a great drink selection. You’re sure to find something good.

I went to QED last night to hear a friend do some stand up, and I must say that I was really impressed by the venue and level of talent. Rather than the dingy comedy clubs in the city, QED was clean, offered local foods and had a good selection of drinks.(Even offered Single Cut on tap). Best of all, there was a small cover for the show and no drink minimum. I’ll definitely be returning to see some more performances here.

The best place in Queens for comedy and entertainment. Everyone friendly and welcoming. Reasonably priced drinks and snacks. Classes! The place where a geek can be a geek! Also a great place to hang out and read or write. Free WiFi.

Came here for a Meetup event. The event itself was great– however the staff at Q.E.D could use some people-person skills. I went up to the bar, made eye contact with the bartender but no response. Eventually I walked around to the side of the bar to meet the snarky bar tender(she was looking at her phone) to be served. The meetup event came with a free drink ticket, which I didn’t realize until after I already ordered and gave snarky snark my debit card. At the end of the night when I went to collect my debit card– I asked Snarky if she already ran my card to which she replied«yes» however there was a $ 10 minimum(the beer was $ 7) I asked if i could just give her the drink ticket to which she snapped«that’s not how it works» I asked her again if she ran my card, and then magically she got what I was trying to explain lol. Oh man! If I were a bartender and knew a large crowd was coming in for a meetup group, without a doubt, I would be all sunshine and smiles knowing I was pretty much guaranteed some nice tips. I guess Snarky doesn’t know«How it works» I would checkout Q.E.D again and pray that this bartender isn’t working.

Saw a very funny«Mommy Show!» here and will be returning for more shows. This is a friendly, nice size neighborhood venue. The stage is small and has room for about 50 – 60 seated. When you walk in, there is a small bar area with snacks& candy for sale. Behind that is the black curtain that unveils the show area. I’m looking forward to returning for more great shows and good laughs with friends. A great addition to the«hood.»

Came here… I think it was like for Tuesday night ‘new material’ night for comedians. I must say… it was much better than I anticipated. Some of the comedy was ‘eh’ in my opinion, but other parts were quite funny, and one comedian had me doubled-over laughing. The space in the front is also very nice and inviting. They feature select books from Astoria Bookshop(an awesome bookstore btw)…a small bar where I think folks can simply drop-in for drinks/coffee perhaps… and I understand they also host other types of events and classes. Only other comment I’d add is that… not sure if it’s just me, but I found the metal chairs with arms(for the comedy show) very uncomfortable. I think more than anything the arms of the chair are just too high? A great addition to the nabe!

Q.E.D is an all-around comfortable place. They run amazing shows of various types every night of the week. When you walk in there is a large seating area and it looks like a pretty cozy coffee shop. Then hidden behind the curtain, like the Wizard of Oz is a performance area fully equipped with lights, a stage, sound booth, and more seating for patrons. So if you’re keeping track of what Q.E.D is lets recap really quick: dope coffee shop, cool wine bar, sleek performance space, good place to write stories and jokes, and fun place to hang out Check the calendar there is pretty much something for everybody

We are so lucky to have a venue like Q.E.D. in Astoria. Last night, I walked over here and saw several SNL cast members/featured performers do stand-up, one after the other: Jay Pharoah, Kate McKinnon(on her birthday!), the very high-energy Leslie Jones, and just-back-from-tooth-surgery Pete Davidson. It was so awesome! I still can’t stop smiling. The price? Just 7 bucks for admission.(How does this place make any money?) Q.E.D. doesn’t have a show like *that* every night, but it does offer a whole lot. Besides comedy and improv, you’ll find poetry, storytelling, game nights, and different classes like«Intro to Guitar» and«Changing Careers Using LinkedIn.» In other words, as the venue’s own website puts it, what happens within its walls is «as diverse as Queens itself.» All of that *and* a bar up front with beer & wine plus an assortment of nonalcoholic drinks, like the delicious Hot Apple Cider I have had twice now. If I had one very small complaint, it would be that the place feels too shiny and new. Maybe this is because I was there for stand-up comedy, and I’m used to grittier Manhattan clubs with some wear and tear. Even Jay Pharoah joked last night about walking in and seeing an assortment of pastries and wondering if he might eat a nice breakfast before his set. Anyway, I want to give owner/creator Kambri Crews a big hug for bringing something like this to the area. Q.E.D. is a new neighborhood treasure. Come out and support the good stuff happening here!

As a long time resident of Astoria I was pleasantly surprised to find this place existed, and conveniently located just off the Ditmars train station. A friend and I went there for a podcast taping(Tell Your Friends Podcast), shocked that something this cool was happening just minutes away from our apartments. It’s a great atmosphere for comedy in the back room, but the front room and bar is also a great place to just hang out. Great beer selection, snacks and just a generally chill & friendly vibe. We stuck around for a little bit afterwards and chatted with Kambri(the owner) and her husband who were both super friendly and accommodating. I’m hoping this becomes a premier venue for comedy because the neighborhood desperately needs it!

Finally, a place to go do something other than eat in Astoria. Classes, comedy, story telling and great artwork are what you’ll find in this fun community space. I went here for the open mic on Sunday and the drinks and comedy were all great!
