Runway Tire Service did a great job on replacing my tire and had very reasonable rates. The owner was very friendly and upfront about the cost. I paid a total of $ 105.00 for a replacement tire and labor. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I didn’t feel like it was your stereotypical mechanic trying to screw over their customers.

I took my car in one evening right before they closed just to drop it off. I woke up to a call at 8am to let me know if was finished. This was the first time in a long time that I’ve taken my car to a mechanic and I wasn’t told about a bunch of other problems that I HAD to deal with NOW. I appreciated the advice they gave me and the straightforward and efficient customer service.
Speedy service, Honest mechanics. Affordable prices.

I bring car here because emergency brake was sticking and it smelled like buring when driving. Instead of saying I need to pay 500+, they said I didn’t need anything new. They said the cable just needed adjusting and charged 102 after tax and before a 15% coupon. I think they are trustworthy, though with mechanics you never know. Hint: checkout their website for coupons.
The only downside is location and timing. It is in the industrial section of Astoria and not convenient to transit lines. Also, they are only open most days from 7am to 5pm, so no late night service. Additionally, I don’t think they offer a night drop (I looked but didn’t see one). Also, they get busy so if you are in a hurry, this may not be the best place to go. But I do think they are honest and professional. I don’t think they try to scam people.

Love these guys. Super friendly and never feel taken advantage of. When I ask them to check something on the car during a routine service they let me know if there is a problem or not. Unlike most car shops, it is most often not. Would recommend.

I first visited Runway back in April for 2 new tires. As a female, I find lots of car service businesses try to take advantage and sell me unnecessary services or charge me extra. This is NOT one of those places. The guys at Runway treated me very respectfully and explained all of my pricing options. They worked very fast and didn’t try to sell me the most expensive tire.
Their fantastic speedy service is why I returned this week when I got yet another flat that needed replacing. Again, the staff was friendly and helpful. They knew I was trying to get to work on time, so started my car at 8:00am and I was on my way by 8:30am.
Although Runway is located in an otherwise «sketchy» out of the way area of Astoria, this is the only place I’ll go for future car needs. These guys are great and I highly recommend them!
