This place is amazing and my favorite go to place for pizza. The sauce and pizza were great.

I thought I wrote a review for here before– I guess not lol Anyway, Sac’s has been around Astoria since I was like a teenager– and that was at least 20 years ago or close to it haha I’m old. Anyway, it’s been the same owners ever since thy opened. I know Dominick is one owner and I believe Sal is the other.(My apologies if I have any of the names incorrect– yikes!) Regardless– both of them are awesome guys. Nothing but nice, courteous, and professional when you talk with them and always smiling. Inside you have a fireplace, and the air smells like that coal oven. Smells so good! I love the ambiance here too, it’s very cozy and you have room between tables so you’re not on top of each other. The service is always great. As a matter of fact just this past weekend when I went, I went kind of late on Saturday night and had a very charming and funny waiter. I shoulda asked his name– he made my mother and I laugh a lot. Tall, young caucasian guy, glasses and a beard– very nice. Anyway– I like to give credit where credit is due– and he was just very pleasant. So, the thing that’s different about Sac’s pizza is that they use fresh mozzarella on their stuff and it seriously makes a big difference when it comes to greasy and non greasy food. The dough even tastes difference from other pizza places. The food is never greasy. Their pizza is just«different» — I’ve never had pizza like theirs before and it’s very delicious! I guess this is what makes them stand out to me from all the places I’ve tried. They use the same cheese on their dinner dishes too– and again, it stands out to me. They have excellent eggplant dishes which are my favorites. Chicken dishes are delicious too, and naturally so are their pasta dishes. I’ve never had anything from here that was bad. On this night I ended up getting my favorite appetizer– the asparagus wrapped in prosciutto! It’s so good! And for my dinner– I had the veal domenico but a half plate. I hadn’t eaten here in a while and they never had half plates before which is a genius idea because for people like me who can never finish the entire dinner– now can! Lol I finished my dinner off with the chocolate lava cake– you can’t go wrong with that! It’s a perfect small size too. Overall– I never have any complaints about here. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are all great! I’ve also gotten delivery from here as well and again– no complaints. They are a little more pricey than other pizza places around, but you really are getting your money’s worth. Definitely stop in here if you haven’t!

My only complaint about Astoria is there are so many good places to eat, you can’t really frequent one place. Sac’s is the exception. My only complaint about Sac’s is that everything I have had here(and I’ve been here at least five times since we moved in the summer) is INCREDIBLE and it is so hard to choose what you want. We went for my BF’s b-day dinner and we actually tried all new dishes. He had the grilled octopus app(special $ 15) and I had the prosciutto asparagus app($ 10.95). It was a religious experience. As we both ate our food, we would occasionally pause, close our eyes, point to our plates with our forks and give an emphatic, «Mmmfh!» My asparagus bundles were tender and wrapped in prosciutto and cooked in some kind of olive oil, coarsely grated cheese and herbs. Each bite was like an everlasting gobstopper — one flavor would sing to you and then — as you chewed — another would tap dance its way into your heart. Listen, even the bread basket at this place is good. I NEVER eat from the bread basket. Why waste the calories and fill up on nonsense, right? No! EATTHISNON-NONSENSE! The birthday boy ordered the homemade lobster– and crab-stuffed ravioli in a brandy cream sauce(full $ 21.95) which he really enjoyed. It was topped with shrimp, too. I ordered the veal Antonio minus the veal plus chicken(full w/veal $ 25.95). I went all out and got the linguini side(with the same wine sauce… I would eat ANYTHING with that sauce). Amazing. With two Peroni and a Diet Coke, it was about $ 98 and change. That is the most I have ever spent here. We normally eat an appetizer or two and/or pizza and spend maybe $ 20. Join the birthday club(you’ll get a little paper to fill out with your bill) and get a free entrée for your birthday month with one other guest and a free entrée the following month if you bring three others. The atmosphere is outstanding. Waitstaff is great. We’ve sat in both the dining room and café side. Off the top of my head, I’ve had the polenta(Best you’ll ever have! That’s not hyperbole. The BF’s Abruzzo father even said so), pizza(a hundred times YES), fried artichokes(if I had to pick, I’d say my least favorite thing… maybe… that’s a tough call), a salad(wonderfully green and cheesy), scallopini della Antonio(YES), tasted the seafood ravioli, prosciutto asparagus app(saw angels), had the homemade ravioli with mushrooms(which I would get again and I don’t even like mushrooms) and I vaguely recall scarfing someone’s pea and potato side sometime in 2015. If you’ve gotten this far in the review, bless you. I hope I’ve convinced you that Sac’s is THE spot. I’m picky about my Italian food having grown up with a great-grandma with three kitchens(one upstairs, one downstairs and a spice kitchen to cure olives) and a grandma with two kitchens. If my dad were alive, I would take him here for his first meal in Astoria.

One of my favorite slices in new york! Im so overwhelmed when i go there cuz i never can decided between a reg slice a white slice or a chicken roll. I usually get all three. And after i demolish everything i usually go into a carb coma. The pizza is brick oven and full of flavor. The chicken roll is made perfectly and u gotta get a side of marinara sauce to dip the chicken in. Omg my mouth is watering just thing about it…

I ordered a large cheese pizza with sweet sausage, onions and olives. The delivery man was rude, the dough of the pizza was completely RAW and thin and they put the toppings on only 1 half of the pizza. When you tried to pick up the pizza everything fell apart because the dough was so thin. Will never order from this place again.

This is the best pizza in the neighborhood hands down. I recently moved from Ditmars down to 30th Ave, and was looking to find a new go-to delivery spot. I must have tried about 4 or 5 pizza spots before landing on this one randomly on Grubhub. Since then I order from here at least once or twice a month. I always get the pepperoni pie. Always delivered fresh, hot, and faster than I expect. The crust is super thin, the sauce is flavorful and more on the tart side which I like. They use fresh mozz on the pie which is fantastic. Usually, neighborhood pizza joints use some other cheese that looks overly«orange» to me. A pie is a little pricier than what you’d expect(easily going north of $ 20), but is SO worth it. I hope to stop in one of these days and dine in. If there’s any downside, I had once ordered some pasta one time(penne ala vodka) and I thought it was kind of mediocre.

Brick oven pizza in Astoria is the best and most amazing pizza there is. If you need real ingredients try this place and you will never go back to others. Hey, Fuggedaboutit!

This is real pizza and real ingredients. Past by this place a million times(my bad). But now that I found this place, I won’t go to another. The pizza is made with fresh mozzarella and imported tomatoes so the pie tastes different then every other place. This is like gourmet pizza to sit down and enjoy, not eat and walk with. The place is clean and the management cares about its customers. I also like to support a local family business who has deep roots in Astoria. Thanks for a great pizza! Ja

Been coming here for years mostly on the pizza side of this location. The location is divided into two sections one is the restaurant and the other is the pizza parlour. Regardless from either side you can see what the other side is like. The Pizza is made there and you can see the types of ingredients that are being used and how they cook it too from start to finish. For the pizza parlour side they have the typical slices such as plain, and Sicilian slices as well as the mama’s pizza which holds nothing but the tomato sauce. They also have white pizza and garlic knots. they have another slice which might be a spinach slice not sure haha. All the pizzas taste fresh and great considering they are always making a pie almost every 15 mins from what i can tell. you can also notice how many order go out. The restaurant side is great the for dates and when you want to enjoy a night out. The service is great and the owners are always on site and great to talk to they are nice people. When you go they are usually the first you notice when you enter because they are watching to make sure everything is running well.

I love this place so much. The toppings are quality and the crust has a classic brick oven crispness that’s chewy on the ends. I’ve had the Mama’s Old Fashioned pie plain, with sausage, and with prosciutto. Like I said, the toppings are the tops! The sausage is just thick enough and the prosciutto is succulently salty without being over the top. The pie is delicious plain, too. The staff is as lovely as the food. With the exception of one elusive waiter, I’ve always enjoyed five-star service.

I’m so happy that Sac’s has finally gotten the 4 stars it deserves. Or maybe not? Now everyone will come. I’m selfish, I don’t like sharing my spots. During my Astoria days Sac’s always hovered at 3 ½ stars. I never really understood why. The pizza always had the perfect ratio of sauce to cheese. The toppings were always fresh and the pizza was always hot. I know it’s hard, but the other items on the menu were also amazing choices. I specifically remember the garlic grilled artichokes. Mmmm, to be back in Astoria again, what I wouldn’t give. Head out to Sac’s right now! You can even get a single slice if you’re not feeling like a fatty at the moment.

I have not left a review on Unilocal but after going to this restaurant I was compelled to do so. Let me start by saying this is definitely the best Quality brick oven pizza you can get in Astoria, period. The food though is on a totally different level. It really is authentic homemade Italian cuisine. Everything I tried there was cooked to perfection and the taste, spot on. They also have a beautiful dining on the side so you can have a view of the busy astoria streets or a more secluded area that can be by a fireplace if you choose. I will continue to come here and wow my friends and family with this great food.

Great pizza, they actually serve by the slice, open til 12am. It’s a combination of a NY and a thin crust slice with it being cooked in a brick oven. Not as saucy as NY slices and just enough cheese like a thin crust slice. Check it out.

Was craving spaghetti and meatballs, so though it wasn’t on the menu, I ordered it. Felt like a five year old, but ordered it because I could. It wasn’t particularly good, but the meatball is definitely quality! On a side note, service was pretty slowwwwwww… and the hot lava cake wasn’t great…

I would like to give some love to this pizza place since I have used it many times for delivery. It is the best pizza delivery option in the area. I really like the mushroom pizza as well the pepperoni. The house salad is really good too

We just arrived in New York looking for pizza, looked on Unilocal and saw Sac’s was close and delivered. Called and ordered, phone service was good. Delivery time was fine, pizza arrived burnt and cold, no napkins, driver carried no crushed pepper, we also ordered a salad it came with no fork. We ordered 3 cans of soda, only receive 2(room temperature). Don’t recommend cold, burnt, and not tasty!

We’ve been meaning to eat here since last year and just never found the time. However, once we saw that it was listed as the best Pizza in Astoria, we knew we needed to try it out before the lines start forming. I think the Grandma was helping out as I saw a little old lady walking around the kitchen — super cute! We ordered a linguine with clams and a pizza. The pasta was mediocre but the pizza really was fantastic. Go with the larger pie as the slices are larger and more fun to eat :) This is definitely our go to pizza place from now on!

Mid afternoon on a Friday I’m out to lunch with my co-workers who chose Sac’s. We ate everything on the appetizer menu so let me tell you my faves: The Mozzarella e Pomodoro was really tasty Melanzane Rollatini was heavenly Funghi Portobello was light & perfect We got two pizzas: mama’s old fashioned & a regular, MUSTTRY! THe coal oven does wonders to the pizza & I know pizza, top 3 in all of Queens easily. We also tried a few entrees: Pappardelle all’Amatriciana, manicotti & Ravioli di Spinaci. My Sicilian co-worker loved the 1st kind, I loved the manicotti & the ravioli were yummy too. Dessert: if you’re into Apple pie I would definitely try to catch their country Apple pie which won some award in Ohio. 2 thumbs up! The tiramisu is good as is the tartufo & the hot lava cake is something to write home about. Chocolate lover here & I was enchanted with this!!!

Hands down the best pizza in Astoria, and some of the best in NY. The slices are delicious, and the personal pies are also really really good. I love the their sauce and the blend of cheeses on the pizza. I haven’t been her yet for sit down service, but I’d really like to because their regular menu looks good and the prices are on point.

A couple of nights ago an old friend surprised me with a visit. I’ve had a terrible flu for a while now and have mostly been indoors, so the surprise visit was a treat; however, the best treat of the evening was that he introduced me to the wonderful deliciousness that is the Sicilian pizza from Sac’s place. I usually order from Rizzo’s or Basil, so when he suggested Sac’s, I wasn’t thrilled, but since pizza was his idea and he was paying, I just said okay. and, boy, am I happy I did. We got half pepperoni, mushrooms and onions and half plain. The crust was delicious(doughy yet perfectly crispy). The pizza was just the right amount of cheesy, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. Rizzo’s has nothing on Sac’s, and Basil, though very good, is a different kind of good. Sac’s delivers the comforting, wonderful, reliable slice; it’s the old friend of pizzas… and my new go-to.
