Nice frozen yogurt/coffee shop. Trendy back room with good seating and environment. Staff was friendly and store was very clean.

Don’t let the score fool you, this place was pretty delicious and I’d probably go back. In the end, it’s just your typical Frozen Yogurt place so don’t expect anything game changing. The back lounge area, while cool, is a little dirty. They also let you sample any of the flavors so that was a nice plus to see if it was worth it. I went for the Coconut FroYo and put on all the peanut toppings I could find(a surprising amount).

I am giving five stars, because I love the design, layout and feel of this place. Perfect for studying and getting work done! The yummy Fro-Yo definitely is a nice pick-me-up, and I liked their iced coffee. Only complaint is the inside is FREEZING!!! So bring a sweater, even in the summer. Other then that, I can’t complain as the clean, spacious, beautiful interior is rare in Astoria, so they get five stars!

Vanilla Sky has some things that would merit a 4-star rating. The interior design is cuter than most and specific to them, clearly had some thought put into it. The fruity sorbet flavors were all very good. The coconut is outstanding — actually takes the way coconut flesh does, not overly sweetened. Toppings selection is pretty good. Prices seem standard. My main bone to pick with them is their namesake flavor, Vanilla Sky — it’s awful! Starts out tasting like vanilla, but ends with this incredibly artificial aftertaste that sticks with you. I was rushing to try other favors just to cover it up. I’ve never had such a negative reaction to a froyo before. I hope it was just a bad mix/off night, or that they can fix it. Totally soured my opinion.

I came here for an event(painting class in the back). The environment was quiet and clean. People were relaxed and enjoying yogurt. I didnt eat here but the ambiance was subtly beautiful and the people were happy eating yogurt, reading books, painting, and just hanging out for a quick stop I highly recommend this place if you want to make a quick stop for some quiet time and desert. Great for finding your sanity!

A unique venue: a good and inexpensive place to hang out for whatever… working on laptop or socializing… An innovative feature is their self service frozen yogurt which is sold by the weight, like a salad rather than by the scoop and/or topping. One can get exactly what one wants, and remunerate accordingly. Also available are the usual panalopy of coffee drinks and Waffles as well as croissants, turnovers, spinich pies, chees pies and biscotties. All good and of above average quality and taste. The rear section of the café is nicely decorated and has a glass skyline on the ceiling, like an indoor garden. A special ambiance which is both open to all ages but never feels as if it is for children. All sorts come there and hang out… The best inexpensive café on Broadway in Astoria which has it all: ambience, light breakfast, extraordinarily delicious frozen yogurt and cleanliness. Bright and nice!

Dropped by post-Astoria Flea and enjoyed the flavors we chose, but not as much as other self-serve froyo spots, which also have more enticing options.

Self-serve frozen yogurt always has me skeptical. I end up paying way more than I expected and I want to go back to my college days of ordering regularly at my local Red Mango. But Vanilla Sky for some reason has gotten me back on the frozen yogurt grind. I feel like the value here is always fair and I end up with a decent cup of yogurt and toppings(which always add more weight than expected) for a good price. $ 5 on average and I walk out super satisfied. I’d stick with their creamier flavors though as the fruity ones I’ve had tend to be too frozen if that makes any sense. They also have a really cool space in the back to hang out which is a plus.

Very modern and clean spot for some frozen yogurt. They have some pretty unique flavors that I’ve never seen before at 16 Handles(which is my go-to froyo place). Highly recommend their mango and vanilla sky flavors!

While they don’t have as many flavors as 16 Handles, and I do believe they are a bit more expensive per ounce, Vanilla Sky is pretty awesome. Their frozen yogurt is delicious and they have a wonderful selection of toppings. The lounge area in the back is really comfy and cute. Even the bathrooms are adorable! I highly recommend Vanilla Sky. FYI: If you go to Chicken Shack, save your receipt as they tend to have a coupon for 20% off your order at Vanilla Sky printed at the bottom of it.

Love Vanilla Sky! Their froyo is light, lots of different flavors and toppings. Love their pistachio and coconut flavors. The best part though is their lounge /café area with wifi, which is a perfect area to get work done. The lounge is never too busy during the weekdays(not sure about weekends), quiet, and a much-needed space in Astoria for anyone that works from home, etc.

So I’ve yet to try their frozen yogurt but hear me out, mmkay. I’ve spent days hanging out here sipping on green tea and using their wifi while mine suffered an outage or conducting interviews of would be roommates. That being said, this place has an inviting, invigorating sense of charm. Relaxed, spacious environment where locals hang out. Spick and span to boot including restrooms. Pass me a pillow because I’m about to make myself at home :)

Vanilla sky is a pretty place. They have really interesting FROYO flavors, which is pretty awesome. Though I am often skeptical of pay by weight places, the prices in my experience end up being pretty decent. They have a good number of add ins that you can use. The sitting area is really great for a FROYO place. They have a Television and even outlets to charge a phone. I was pretty impressed in general by the place in comparison to most other yogurt places. Though admittedly, it is just FROYO, though with lots of variety, the facilities, the variety, the add ins, and all the other average stuff make this place above average just by being clean, pretty and consistent. If you are expecting a fancy place full of things your friends can’t pronounce, this is not where you find it. But if you want a clean pretty place to eat FROYO, this will work out nicely.

Stopped in here for a little dessert after dinner. I had the cookies and cream flavor with my random toppings like gummy bears, oreo crumbs, and cake bites. lol. Im a child at heart. It was the perfect size for me and I didn’t pay over $ 3.

This place holds some memories for me. So it might have gotten one more star then really deserved, but if it isn’t four stars it’s three. Not the most inventive of flavors, but good prices and lots of toppings which they try to keep organized and clean throughout the day. The space itself is very clean and modern feeling– there is wifi and tv’s if you want to hang for a bit and they also have some smoothies and treats for sale, but I just stick with the fro yo. You can also fill your own Pints and take them to go if you want something at home. If you can make it that far.

Want fro yo, go here. Want a pleasant space to plug in, connect to Wi-Fi, and do some work, go here. Great seating on the back, selection of toppings and yogurts. Not much else to say. 4 stars because, well, it’s DIY fro yo. Check out pistachio fro yo, with strawberry and mango. A fantastic and refreshing combination.

I stopped by here the other night. Seemed like a pretty standard DIY froyo place with a couple other menu options like coffee and waffles. For froyo they had around 10 flavor options and plenty of toppings to choose from. I really enjoyed their cookie dough topping — so yummy. What really set this place apart for me was the huge seating area in the back! Tons of tables and chairs. It seemed like quite a few people were studying/working there in the evening. The bathrooms were also surprisingly nice, check em out.

This is a great alternative to Red Mango for self-serve froyo. First of all, I loved the décor! The front half of the store is very bright and clean, but the back room is where it’s at. There are benches and cute wooden tables under a soft light, and it looks like someone’s backyard. I wanted to sit here, but it was packed with people on their laptops. As for the yogurt, there were plenty of flavors I’ve never had, like eggnog, Smores, pistachio, etc. The staff are not stingy with the sampling cups! Personally, I really liked the plain yogurt. It didn’t taste like the plain versions from Red Mango, Pinkberry, 16 Handles or Yogurtland. It had more of a tart kick to it. There were plenty of toppings, but compared to the other froyo places, there was less fruit and more candy/sugar options. I can’t wait to come back for more!
