My go to coffee. Super cute place with very nice staff. The selection they have here is awesome. The prices are also around the same as Starbucks so I really chose to support the locals on this one!

I love Bru! One of my favorite coffeehouses in town! I especially love the back patio and taking friends there. It’s really nice there which is why I had my baby shower there!

Another very cute local café! Although the coffee was good, the atmosphere was not are lovely as some of the surrounding shops and the service was a little shoddy(the baristas completely forgot our drinks… and it was not busy!). I still enjoyed Bru and would go back, as the coffee was really tasty and very strong! I also liked the fact they had some cool artwork from local artists; it added some nice ambience.

This is my go-to coffee house to stop by if I’m trying to fit in a peaceful break between Santa Maria and Paso(or farther) along the 101. It’s right off the freeway, which makes it fast, and the coffee is always good! I order a cappuccino or macchiato and have never been disappointed– always a delightful pull of fresh beans. I prefer to sit on the patio. It’s shared with a succulent/gift shop and a nice water feature for soothing noise. One note is there’s not much in the way of food choices, so I usually just grab caffeine! Great little spot if you’re just looking for a good cup of brewed beans.

This place came highly recommended from a local, and they were spot on! We had an iced mocha, which was possibly one of the best we’ve ever had! We also had a latte, which was made perfectly(and had beautiful latte art!). The barista was very friendly, and gave our dogs lots of treats and attention while we were there.

Nice place! It has seating outside in front, inside with air condition and in the back patio! It also has a small room with two tables if you want some alone time work done. They offer coffee menu, but also all different kinds of drinks! We had a fruit smoothie, its was very natural with fresh fruits and no added sugar! It was delicious. They have enough room for big study groups and sofas if you want yo get a little more comfortable. The free wifi works fine, it was very easy to access it and work with it. The place is also very VERY clean, the bathroom is very nice and the tables and floor are very clean also. The staff was very nice and they gave us our beverages rather fast. The music is nice also! Planning on ditching Starbucks and coming here more often!

Standby coffeehouse in Atascadero. Friendly staff, reliable experience, good coffee and food. I’d recommend it to anyone.

Awesome coffee but on a scalding 100 degree day GETTHECEILINGFAN working. I asked if we could turn it on and behind the counter was told that the fan is dangerous cause it spins very fast and wobbles and is not secured correctly. Cmon a 2 hour trip to Home Depot and some mounting screws and or a new fan would make for much happier customers. Delicious coffee why settle for anything less than an awesome experience for a customer?

Really great coffee, one of the best mochas I’ve ever had. Also love the environment… Great for getting some work done or eating breakfast. The reason I didn’t give them 5 stars is because they ways seem under staffed and the staff that is there seems to be irritated by it. It took 15 mins for some to finally take our order and we didn’t have anyone in front of us. It was bc both people were busy behind the counter getting previous customers orders together. That’s a pretty darn long time. Also it was terribly hot inside and apparently the fans don’t work :(besides that, awesome coffee.

Go for the beverages and the awesome outdoor patio. Do not go for breakfast!!! The pictures of the food on this site are outdated. We ordered breakfast burritos and they were terrible — obviously mass produced, frozen & the reheated in a microwave.

We’ve never been there for the music and we haven’t had time to look at the art; we’ve gone there because it’s relatively close to Atascadero’s zoo. With a preschooler to entertain, it’s wonderful that you can take what you order out to the nursery behind the coffeehouse. It’s pleasant out there and the area has a back exit when a wiggly small person needs to walk around. The only thing is, I find the coffeehouse to be pricey with not that many pastries on offer(what we like to eat when making a quick coffee stop).

This café came recommended by a friend, and it definitely has a couple of great features. One, it has coffee. That’s good. If you’re into the whole cold fusion coffee movement this place is for you. I’m actually not, but thought their regular latte was fine. Two, there is POWER! If one of your main criteria for a café is a good place to steal power, this is the place! There are two oulets at every table(one on each side.) These people know me, I think. So bring all of your chargers and get some energy(besides just the caffeinated kind.) What’s not to love? Well, it’s pretty dark inside and kind of echo-ey. There was a bunch artwork on the wall which wasnt to my taste, but I like that they’re supporting local artists. A-OK

Stopped by because I wanted to try the cold brew nitro on tap. Uncomfortably quiet inside and staff was incredibly pretentious and unwelcoming. I felt like we were inconveniencing them with our business. Coffee was okay and they had treats for the dogs. But not good enough to compel me to return ever. Disappointing.

This the kind of coffee house that turns a great cup into a fantastic experience! I’ll plan to stop here as I traverse the 101 between San Francisco Bay and Santa Monica Bay.

Right off the 101, Bru serves Stumptown coffee in a way that will leave your taste buds dazzled. Such a wonderfully done coffee shop that invites you to linger and write that novel you always wanted or catch up with that old friend.

Good coffee, staff hit or miss. Last time I was there, the girl asked me 2 times if I wanted it for here or to go. I said«here» both times. They served it to me to go. Then, when I told them I asked for«here», they stared at me blankly, like I was an inconvenience, and didn’t offer to redo into a real cup… which is what I prefer. Not a big deal but it was the attitude and forgetfulness that bugged. The guys that work there seem to be friendlier than the ladies. Coffee is really good, nice to have a place like this in a-town.

The place is really nice inside. It was quiet when we went in It was probably because it was around 4pm. The barista was helpful and very relaxed. My hazelnut late was really good but my mother in laws Chai tea was soo good. I’m happy they also sell stumptown coffee beans. It was pricy but it’s hard to find that brand in Las Vegas. Will go back again. =D

I really like their pour over coffee from Stumptown! We were in the neighborhood and this was the closest good coffee shop available according to our Unilocal app. I need good coffee am, and since we were staying at a motel for the weekend, we were not making our own brew at home. Nice service here. We did not have to wait in line long, and quickly ordered two coffees and two burritos, since this ended up being our breakfast stop also. This was actually our second visit, we tried their coffe out the morning before also, so it was our choice for this morning also. The burritos were okay to good. I really was very hungry and enjoyed my potato and egg burrito. It had some spice to it also. My wife did not say much about hers, not bad I guess, but the salsa sauce to pour onto it was very fresh and flavorful. The atmosphere was casual, friendly and relaxed. This is a nice coffeehouse to wake up in, and just enjoy a really good large cup of fresh hot wonderful coffee! The price was fair also. Not complaints. We would go back.

I’ve been coming to Bru since it opened 4 years ago… The servers were top notch and friendly and if they didnt know how to make something they would google it with you! Today… We’ve had it and are sharing the worst it’s ever been in terms of food and service; it’s staggeringly declined over the last year. We used to go the Bru every weekend for breakfast: Huge bowls of Turkish-style yogurt, fluffy scrambled eggs and bacon, hand-made burritos, hand-made breakfast sandwiches, unusual coffee roasts, etc. Today, we found out the only thing on the menu is burritos(frozen, Costco-style) and a small selection of pastries to go with coffee. We noticed the menu on the wall had been cut in half and the food menu only had three items. We were shocked… But ordered a bacon burrito, veggie burrito and two large mochas. There were only 4 other people in Bru at the time. We sat out back in the garden area, so didn’t hear the cashier call our order was ready. After 15 minutes I went in to check on the food. The cashier pointed to the counter and said«you must not have heard me call your order.» I said I was out back and in the past our food was always brought to us. All he said was«it’s probably still warm» and went back to doing what he was doing. It’s mother’s day… We chose to go to Bru to celebrate. We ordered mochas and burritos and the mocha tasted like Hershey’s syrup. The burritos we cold and pre-frozen. What a disappointment and a waste! We used to LOVE this coffee shop for the yummy mochas and awesome food menu and the fact you get to sit in a flower garden area to enjoy them. I will NOT be recommending this place to friends anymore!!! Atascadero has a huge shortage of quality places to go eat, relax, shop, etc. This experience today underscores the reasons why people spend their money in other cities on the weekends. Whatever happened to Bru over the last year casts poorly on the decision making of Management and the Owner. Bring back the quality menu and customer service, Bru! You just lost two loyal customers!

In general, I found it extremely difficult to find coffee I considered good in Cali. I Unilocaled coffee shops to stop at on our way down south and chose this one since they carry Stumptown coffee, which I’ve had before and knew it would be good. This spot didn’t disappoint and was the best latte I had on my entire trip. The muffins were good too. Minus one star because they weren’t busy but forgot to make my friends coffee and we had to go up and ask for it after ten minutes of waiting. The staff was all really nice though so we didn’t mind that much.
