I need to update since there were some good things: he was on time. Professional demeanor. The lighting was cool. In retrospect it was not horrible and again he was nice through the process. My first review althrough true was a bit harsh.

The DJ was definitely not the highlight of our wedding. He butchered our introduction. Our last name isn’t super easy to say but I mean practice could have solved that. He reminded me I needed to pay him during the last 15 minutes of our wedding while I was at his computer finding the song we had requested(earlier in the week mind you) for our farewell song. In his defense, I had been very bad at filling out the worksheet in advance and we ended up doing it in the week before our wedding. That being said, we put almost 3 hours worth of songs on the list to make it easy. When it came time for dancing he only played our first dance song, and the second dance song we had requested off our list. To be fair, he did manage to keep everyone on the dance floor for the 30 minutes of dancing we ended up getting in. He’s a decent dj but he has an attitude that made me very uncomfortable. I am not sure I would hire him again to DJ. He also did the lighting at the wedding which looked great except for one strand(out of 9) that seemed to be really dull.

Used their lighting services for my dinner party under an oak tree at a winery in Paso. I found them to be easy to work with, responsive and they did a great job. I would rehire them again.

We were not happy with Entertainment Now’s DJ at our wedding – or his lack of responsiveness beforehand. We agreed to use Kevin(Del’s son) as our DJ on Del’s recommendation. We spoke to Del but weren’t able to speak to Kevin in advance. However, since the reviews on Wedding Wire were promising we agreed to use him.(I found out later WHY they had such good reviews.) The main issue was poor communication. In the weeks leading up to our wedding we left Kevin several voicemails/emails. We wanted to confirm some details like that they had certain songs, when he’d arrive, whether he wanted a vendor meal, etc. He didn’t get back to us at all. We never spoke to him before the wedding. We finally got in touch with Del(his dad) 4 days before the wedding and he assured us that he’d prepared everything for Kevin. I don’t know how that could have been true because when we got back from our honeymoon, I had a message at my office from the day of the wedding and they were asking us basic questions like the groom’s first name. It would have been less stressful to know that these things were buttoned up in advance. We filled out the worksheet on their website and input our song requests, but the DJ didn’t really follow it. And we had to insist to get them to play requests at the wedding. And he didn’t have the songs cued up properly, so he didn’t start the recessional music on time and mixed things up – like the cake-cutting song when we were supposed to be doing the farewell song. These things aren’t the end of the world, but it was just not running smoothly. Oh. And one thing that I didn’t realize before is the benefit of cross-fading or «beat matching.» Many DJs do this to blend one song into the next one – to kind of keep the party going. It turns out Entertainment Now doesn’t do that, so after each song, it falls totally silent and people stop dancing and start to wander off. So, if you want a real dance party, make sure your DJ is willing and able to do the cross-fading.(Or, frankly, there’s a setting on iTunes that does it!) As for why they APPEAR to have such good reviews, there are two reasons. One is that brides have rose-colored glasses in hindsight and don’t like to think that any part of their wedding day wasn’t perfect. But I think there’s nothing wrong with sharing the low points too – and for us, the DJ was the lowest one. The second reason(and probably the main factor in raising their rating) is that they’re dishonest! When I put up a totally honest review on Wedding Wire’s review site, they disputed it and said we hadn’t even used their DJ service. Then Wedding Wire has this weird policy where, if there’s a dispute by the vendor, they take your review down until you send in ridiculous levels of documentation. So, since Entertainment Now is willing to be dishonest and challenge legit negative reviews, and because most people aren’t going to jump through Wedding Wire’s hoops to show that their review is honest, their rating is very inflated. But, after Del called me a liar, I decided it was worth the trouble to send in the cancelled check and other documentation.(And after I did and Wedding Wire reinstated my review, Del called it «fraudulence» on that site too.) So I’m trying to spread the word on other sites so that future brides who search for Entertainment Now will have complete information – and hopefully won’t make the same mistake we did. This was a stressingly non-responsive and mediocre DJ. — — – Updated on 11⁄30 to respond to Del’s bizarre claim that they didn’t DJ our wedding. That is such a blatant and VERY easy-to-disprove lie. I’ve posted screenshots of emails I exchanged with Del prior to the wedding as well as a picture of his son, Kevin while he was AT our wedding DJ-ing with equipment labeled with an Entertainment Now sign. I don’t get why he’s willing to lie so publicly since it just kind of underscores how far they’ll go to hide bad reviews and inflate their online ratings.

Del did a great job at my daughters wedding at the Loading Chute. It was super hot and he kept his cool the whole time. Even after I changed up the program a few times, he wasn’t irritated in the least. He was very professional, and knows his stuff! When the dancing got started, the majority of the party danced every single song! There was never a bummer song. We were hot, and tired but he kept putting out great music! His knowledge of weddings and timelines, really helped us. I would definitely recommend hiring them. You won’t be disappointed.

Kevin and Dell are the best of the best. They were with us every step of the way from the planning to the day of. They are SO nice and helpful and answered any and every question that we had, day or night. They gave us very helpful advice and Kevin was so wonderful on our wedding day. He was so flexible and fun and all of our guests just loved him. The music was just perfect during the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. Everyone just had an amazing time.
