Had dinner here tonight with two girlfriends. Service was friendly and efficient. The food was really delicious. I had dinner salad and mushroom soup. My daughter had fish and chips(which is usually fried) and asked for the fish to be grilled instead of fried. The server was very amendable to the request, and was delicious. My friend had the special and said it was delicious. We love coming here. It’s always very welcoming with great food!

best steakhouse in slo county, defiantly coming back again! They have great portion sizes and everything is worth the price it is. Great tasting food and the pastas are my favorite, I wish we had more places like this around here. Guest house grill is definitely my favorite place to eat and I recommend all my friends and family here.

A+ all across the board! Very Friendly, attentive, and great service! The food hits all the marks! A delicious and savory menu that always keeps me coming back for more ! You can tell the owners and chefs take pride in the food as shown with all the fresh and high quality Ingredients, as well as all the homemade sauces, dressings and soups! Great full bar with live music Friday and Saturday nights! Don’t forget to save room for the bread pudding desert! A must try restaurant in slo county!

Guest House Grill has been the best restaurant in SLO County since the moment I walked into it. The service is impeccable! The food is spectacular! And the environment is that of a relaxed getaway!(Especially out on the patio) Favorite Dish: Coriander Chicken

Surprisingly good. Simple and to the point — steak and potatoes. I’m only dropping a star since you *can* find a better dinner for the price point nearby.

Laid back… service can vary BUT all the staff is extremely friendly and make you feel comfortable. The raspberry sauce and chicken I’m still trying to recreate in my kitchen ;) soo good. I have yet to have anything bad there and will continue to go to the restaurant that takes me somewhere without driving all the way to paso or slo to get away. Love it. Keep up the great work!

The food has gotten better here over the last year or so. They have added a nice outdoor dining area. The menu selections are Ok but somewhat pedestrian. Have ordered the crem brule twice and disappointed both times.

Food: I ordered the BBQ burger. It would have been great had it not been bright reddish pink in the middle. I just ate the outside edges, which were cooked enough to eat. I would have sent it back, but we had waited half an hour for our food as it was, so I definitely did not want to wait another 30 minutes for them to fix it. The French fries were smaller and thinner than even fast food fries, and salty as hell. I didn’t even finish them, which is a rarity for me. Service: pretty friendly, no issues there. Décor: I really like the way the bar area looked. However, some of the tables had these very tacky miniature lamps sitting on them. It looked bizarre and completely out of place. Final verdict: I just might give them another chance sometime, but I’m not sure just yet.

We were really bummed when we got a call from a nice New American restaurant in Paso Robles that their air-conditioning machine broke after their lunch service. It was 90+ Fahrenheit out that evening so no way were we going to make our way there but appreciated the heads up. We were really looking forward to some steaks and relaxation. That left us about an hour to figure out where to find some good beef around town. As many cattle as you see grazing on the lands of this region, there aren’t many traditional steakhouses in Paso Robles. We ended up finding Guest House Grill on Unilocal and made a reservation. As we drove south to Atascadero to find this restaurant, we noticed it is at the edge of an open shopping center. There wasn’t much of anything going on here at 7pm! We were skeptical whether or not to order steak since those weren’t commonly reviewed on Unilocal. Cut to the chase —– the steak was so very good! It is choice-grade steak but better than some premium grade steaks I’ve had before. I had the 14 oz. ribeye cooked medium with garlic whipped potatoes and a salad with oil and vinegar. The dish also came with sauteed haricot verts. It cost $ 32.95. The steak was well-seasoned and had a lovely grilled taste to it. Everything was almost too well-seasoned. My mouth puckered a little from the salt. It wasn’t overwhelming but maybe just a pinch too much salt on each element. The green spread they give you with your bread is SO good. I don’t know what it is. It reminds me of chimichurri but it isn’t. It feels like there’s avocado in it and you can really taste the garlic. It went really well with a bite of steak! We also got the catch of the day which was a Chilean sea bass with a red wine sauce, garlic whipped potatoes and asparagus($ 26.95). It was SO good. I wasn’t so sure when the waitress said a red wine sauce but I think there must have been some berries in it. It had a tartness. I think people dine here early because by the time we got up to leave at about 8:30pm, the restaurant was only half full. They have nightly specials such as all-you-can-eat spaghetti on Mondays for $ 12 or so and steak and lobster on Sundays at $ 26.95. We wanted to get the steak and lobster but they were sold out by 7pm. Wish I could eat here more often…

Top Notch You will regret everyday of your life if you go eat somewhere else. Chicken fried steak is my favorite. Owners are local guys who took a risk to open a business in Atascadero. Glad they did.

I liked this place. Comfortable, good service, good food. A win all around. We had chicken fried steak, and the cream cheese chicken. Both were flavorful and tasty. Prices were spot on. I recommend this place if you are in the area.

Perfect meal and incredible service. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and delicious. The clam chowder was a wonderful blend of peppery creaminess. The complimentary appetizer of pesto and sourdough was a nice starting touch. We enjoyed the live music immensely. We highly recommend!

The prices are high for what you actually get. The seared ahi salad should be $ 4 lower then it is. Service is very good, and the specials are a great deal, but the entrée prices and quality are just a bit high, especially for the area.

I’ve been to the area a few times but I didn’t know this place existed until recently. A friend and I had lunch there and liked everything about the place inside and out. It is now my go-to place when in the area. Ambiance, draft beer, good service & good food.

Best dining in Atascadero. A group of six of us dined here on a Friday night and had a wonderful time and meal. Our 20 minute wait for a table(reservations not accepted) was fine as there is a nice outdoor fire pit to gather around to chat and drink with each other. We were ultimately seated in a covered outside area with eight or so other tables and once the heaters were flipped on it was fine. They also have warmer booths and tables indoors with a full service bar. Friday nights they have Lance on site playing his guitar and singing. He is amazing as he knows all the lyrics, can play most anything requested and provides a lovely backdrop to the entire meal. Every night is a different special with tonight’s being Prime Rib. It being Lent, however, my wife had halibut over coconut rice while I went for fish and chips. My fish and chips were fantastic and came out nice and hot. I think it was sailfish but not being a seafood lover I am not sure. The tartar sauce paired nicely with it and I would get it again in a heartbeat even on a meat full day. My wife’s halibut was yummy and she especially liked the rice. Others in our party got the meatloaf(they get it every time), a breaded chicken dish that I can’t recall the name of but another a huge local fav and one prime rib special. All our meals were great and we would visit again and again.
