We hired Chef Matthew Meyer as a personal chef for a small dinner in Las Vegas and he absolutely exceeded our expectations in making our night truly unforgettable! Despite throwing numerous obstacles at him he was professional, flexible, and was a true joy to work with. His staff transformed our plain dining room into the perfect fine dining atmosphere as he created a spectacular six-​course meal that was almost too pretty to eat. We cannot praise him enough and would recommend him to anyone looking for a luxurious meal or gourmet catering!

I am a professional wedding planner and have had the pleasure of tasting dishes from some of the best chefs/​caterers/​restaurants in SLO county. However, I actually started my career in restaurant and bar consultations in Los Angeles. Having originally come from a place where the restaurant industry is tough and teeming with amazing talent, at times it has been a little rough on my ever-​hungry stomach to find overhyped food, that totally underwhelmed.
I am so very glad to share that Chef Matt of Matteo’s Gourmet Food Services is the answer to so many fantasies of amazing dining. Chef Matt’s food speaks for itself, embodying his wonderful skills, passion and creativity.
I enjoy his approach to dining, creating refined, well-​balanced and well-​executed menus, however successfully brushing away pretentiousness. I can compare his dishes in a way to French dining, in the layering of flavors, yet the beauty of his ingredients and allowing them to meld together, is so simple and true, that I automatically am taken back to honest flavors of Italy. It is such a nice blend of the refined without the bullsh*t.
I can write a piece about the amazing 10-​COURSE DINNER he created, but one simply must try his food to truly understand what an asset Chef Matt is to our lovely county.

In my 16+ years in the hospitality and event planning business, I have never come across a chef as talented and passionate as Chef Matt. I had the distinct pleasure of dining with some industry friends at The Casitas Estate recently, where Chef Matt prepared a 10-​course sampling of some of his best creations. And can I just say, wow??? I am in awe of his presentation and professionalism. Every single bite was just so delectable!

As a photographer I have had the opportunity to photograph and also eat many different and amazing meals. Not only was Matt’s food a work of art to photograph but it was one of the most flavorful meals I have ever had. Having been raised on Asian food I appreciate the fusion blend of Asian and Western ingredients. Matt is an amazing artist and chef. I feel so honored and privileged to have had his food and I look forward to having more of his creations.

As the owner of a luxury inn where we have discerning guests looking for a culinary treat, I cannot begin to express how excited my husband Tony and I are about having Chef Matthew Meyer, owner of Matteo’s Gourmet as a new chef in the area. Hailing from great work in Las Vegas, I liken Matt’s style and many beautifully designed courses to Jenson of Cass House (who we miss very much out in Cayucos!)
