Pure Pediatric Dentistry: Kristin L. Newsom, DDS, MS

I have been here three times now with my 4 year old daughter. She has had different dental assistants and all have been very sweet and engaging with my daughter. The dentist is nice and personable as well. I am very happy with my daughters dental care here.

Dr. Newsom is very nice but unfortunately we did not have a good experience with her, not once but twice. Due to anesthetizing the wrong part of the mouth, and then not fully numbing the part that was having teeth removed, my daughter felt her 2 eye teeth being removed. In the process, an adult tooth was also chipped. I trusted the dental office (not the one she works in now) and so gave her a second chance. When my daughter received a filling, again, she was not fully numbed. She did stop and numb her more this time. But it was not a pleasant experience. Luckily, we went to the other dentist in the office to have the other teeth pulled (all 4 were pulled in order to conserve space and keep teeth straight, not due to poor hygiene) and when he saw her fear, he stopped, assured her, made sure she was fully numb and was a pro. Again, this was in a different office. Perhaps she was just starting out? But please be advised to be wary. I would never go back to her again.

They are really great! We love this place but most importantly is my 3 year old son loves going to the dentist! A perfect pediatric office!

Having just relocated from Colorado, my wife placed me in charge of finding a new dentist for our 12 year old son. Her only requirement was a «pediatric dentist». I did my due diligence as much as is really possible to find someone with a good patient following, reviews etc. Boom, we stumbled upon these folks and after two visits, including x-​rays, cleaning, an exam and one tooth extraction… I can say we hit the mark! This team is awesome. Dr. Cottrell was described by my son as «kind, and makes sure he’s (my son) comfortable». And honestly that goes for the entire staff. Great sense of humor across the board, and super efficient at their jobs. Advanced technology used in the office too, which all seems amazing to me. To be a kid again, I’d have been happy to go the these guys.
