The last couple times I was there a blonde female tattoed was seriously the worst and rudest bartender ever. I do the same job.16 year veteran… I don’t hang with my regular men customers when a girl walks in alone… or you have a chance to make new clientele that make more and tip more… She made the bar feel oppressive and unfriendly. You don’t ignore people to feel cool… she knew nothing about whiskey. or any drinks. Who hired this girl? By the way I love the change… the owners were always extremely business minded… but really… please make sure you ask the right questions for hiring a bartender at a whiskey bar and not people you know. I’m assuming that’s how she got the job.

I came here late on a Friday night after a party, with a group of friends. I had already been drinking elsewhere, so I didn’t want to get any beer or whiskey for fear of a bad mixing hangover. Assessing the bar, it appeared well-stocked, but not someplace where you’re supposed to ask for anything complicated. I thought I could find one drink that the bartender could make comprising a simple liquor and mixer, but I was dead wrong. The bartender was as incapable as she was unwilling to make anything. «Do you have Sweet Tea Vodka?»(judging by how well-stocked it looked, it seemed a reasonable request) «No.»(She has no clue what sweet tea vodka is and is not willing to look) «Okay, well, do you know how to make a gin gimlet?» «Does that have vodka in it?» «No, nevermind. Okay, how about just an Amaretto Sour?» «I don’t know how to make that.»(REALLY? You REALLY don’t know how to mix Amaretto with sour mix?) She brings my friend a gin & tonic that is the worst-tasting g&t ever. Like, wretched, couldn’t drink it. HOWDOYOUDOTHATTO A G&T?! It’s not complicated! So, no, apparently, a simple liquor + mixer is far too much to ask in this place. I left without having anything, assuming she’d screw up a glass of water if I gave her the chance. I’ve asked around and been told that you should only order beer and whiskey there, so I guess all the rest of the liquor is just for show? Anyways, as long as that bartender is still«working» there(not sure what she does, as she is unable and unwilling to serve drinks), I will not be going back.

Best wedding bartenders in California, probably the US! Hiring Whiskey & June was easily one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Actually it didn’t even need to be discussed once we saw photos of the trailer, it was a done deal. We had our wedding at the Santa Margarita Ranch and placed the trailer in the barn, it was so perfect! I have never been to a wedding with a trailer bar and I’m sad to say probably won’t ever be at one again. If you are looking for a fun and unique touch to your wedding you found it with Whiskey & June. Our beverage tasting with Whiskey & June was probably the most fun we had during our wedding planning. Nicole and Erin are so sweet and they truly want to ensure you love everything that will be served at your wedding. The cocktails they created were amazing. My mom and I don’t like whiskey but the whiskey cocktail they created was so delicious and smooth we even enjoyed it! I am so happy that my coordinator Laura Robertson, from Touch of Style Events recommended Whiskey & June! Thank you so much for making our day extra special and for the tasty cocktails. I know we will be stopping inAtascadero for some more cocktails soon!

This place is like winning the gold digital watch in those put-a-quarter-in-turn-the-handle-and –pray-you-dont-get-the-lame-sticker machines. Is it the best thing that will ever happen to you? hopefully not, but let’s be real here, when you’re sitting behind your corner office desk wistfully looking out the window wondering where the good times went, what’s going to come to mind? that«once in a lifetime» trip to Argentina or the unbridled there-is-justice-in-the-world joy of scoring of that watch? As a bonus this digital watch comes with taxidermy, one of the best whiskey selections in the state, perfectly executed classic cocktails(pro tip: Remember the Maine, Water Lily), and cheap pool. Smile, because somehow God still loves you.

Even though I’m a local this was the first time in the bar for Momma and me. They have been open for 2 years. I saw an article in the SF Chronicle about«The best dive bar in SLO county» so how could I resist? It’s a divey bar for sure but really friendly and a fabulous selection of spirits. I’m a whisky(Scotch and Irish) guy so that’s important. It has a great neighborhood bar vibe and we felt welcome and comfortable. Our bartender Aubrey(hope I’m spelling that right) was a cutey that poured a good drink. Momma is an aficianado of good Bourbon so she started with a Sazerac and then had some Hudson straight up. All in all a lovely place to sit, have a drink with a friend or friends and listen to the juke box or play shuffleboard. Aubrey told us you could get your order from Scotty’s BBQ next door delivered and eat in the bar. What could be better than pulled pork and whisky? Happy hour(Both of them!) makes for an inexpensive drink. The premium spirits aren’t overpriced. Certainly not Bay Area prices! There is a good selection of house cocktails your should try too. Clientele ranges from retirees(us), professionals, and working stiffs. My wife was not the only woman in the bar. Friendly folks having a good time. We’ll be back.

I’m new to the area and I’m not sure if I’ve ever found a place that is more welcoming. Come on happy hour seven days a week who does that? Friendly locals and bartenders that can make you anything you ask for. Pool tables a jukebox and shuffleboard and damn good drinks it don’t get none better then this.

Swanky, pretentious bar this is not! Whiskey and June is, however, your quintessential neighborhood bar where everyone will know your name if you go often enough. Randy, the bartender the night we were there, was very friendly! He is funny, very easy going and knew quite a number of people who were there on a Sunday night to get a drink and play shuffleboard and pool. Looks like he’s worked there for several years, and was retained by the new owner of the bar. According to Randy, before the bar changed owners, it had only six beers. Now the bar has twenty something beers, some on tap, some in bottles and some in cans. It also boasts over 160 different kinds of whiskey, so if you’re an aficionado and/or love whiskey cocktails, this bar is the place to go in the Central Coast. The bar’s owner is a native of the area, and has recently returned to the area after years of living in NYC and working in a three Michelin starred restaurant in NYC. The bar was featured in the NY Times article, «36 Hours in San Luis Obispo.» I ordered a Negroni, and was asked if I wanted a particular gin for my drink. I settled for something decent like a Plymouth and was very happy with my drink. He served it in a small coupe glass. My husband ordered an old-fashioned with a nice whiskey. Very smooth and delicious as well. At some point in the evening, my husband was recruited to play Shuffle board which he has never played before. I sat there and talked to a couple of guys nearby until my husband came back. Whiskey and June is truly a fun and friendly place to have a drink! Definitely worth another visit next time we’re in the area!

What a great dive bar! We were in the area, for a nice Memorial day weekend holiday get-a-way plus visiting family since my Dad was in town visiting his brother. We really wanted a drink this evening since it was our last night to have some fun out on the town in the wild country of Atascedero. We had already had some wine in the afternoon with my cousin and Dad, so were ready for some time together just the two of us, to relax and enjoy the Sunday evening. We sat down at the end of the bar right near the front door since all the other bar stools were taken. The ambiance was casual. Our bartender was very friendly and talkative. He helped us order our drinks since we did not know what we wanted. I got the Old fashioned, a very nice burbon which I savored slowly as I just sat and watched people getting happy while playing shuffle board to the left side of the bar. My wife ordered a nice drink which I don’t remember the name of which was quite bitter, but she really liked it. It was funny after a bit, we were tired and almost ready to go after finishing our first round of drinks, but one of the guys playing shuffle board recruited me to be on his team to play another game. I’ve never played shuffle board, but he was very friendly and would not take no for an answer, so I went with it and he quickly gave me a lesson so I could look like I knew how to play the game. Our team lost. I did improve but I think I may have been the weak link on our team! It was fun and the bar was a nice place to hang out and relax. I really enjoyed our bartender who was very personable and always smiling and chatting with everyone as he served them. They are recently under new management. Previously they had six beers in their selection, but now they have a very good selection of beer and also an extensive selection of around 160 whiskys. Our bill was $ 20 for two drinks and lots of good entertainment! I would go back to Whisky & June anytime we are in the area.

We had spent the day wine tasting in Paso and we were wined out and just needed a cold beer. We were staying across the street at the Carlton so this spot was very convenient. Huge beer selection as well as a nice whiskey collection. Super reasonable especially at happy hour. Great jukebox.

Fun dive bar with a full length shuffle board table and pool tables. Reasonably priced drinks with good pours from the friendly bartenders. Good for late night after hours fun. You never know what your going to see at Whiskey & June(formerly Terry’s Bar and Microwave). Have fun and bring your designated driver! Additional parking behind the bar and you can also enter from the back.

We wouldn’t have gone here if it wasn’t for the friendly tip from Avian and Claw across the street. After a day of wine tasting we needed a cocktail. Pool tables, shuffle board, juke box, clean restrooms and friendly locals just hanging out. The bartender/owner was pouring and proudly serving good alcohol. Definitely going back!
