No More Babaganoush! New menu is not so hot. Gyro meat was cold. Mac and Cheese was toxic. Way overpriced for what you get. Never again.

I am a bit conflicted… I loved coming here before but things have changed! The food is not as good as it was! The staff was so friendly and made a point of inquiring how our food was! Which is nice especially in a college town little restaurant! But the food seems to be different; the gyro meat was more«chunk» than the usual thin slices. Seems like the toppings are a cut below than they used to be! I will be back and give them another chance anyway!

First of all, I really don’t know why this restaurant is marked as closed by Unilocal.I seriously just ate there about 4 hours ago. Very misleading, and possibly bad for their business. Now as for the restaurant itself — On a Saturday Afternoon, there was only a single other customer in the place. This aligns fairly well with what other people have described in relation to its atmosphere — not packed in any sense, but as a result, I found it to be a very relaxing dine. The food — I got a lamb and beef gyro plain with only feta cheese, and a side of French fries. It was all very satisfying, had excellent flavor, and didn’t leave me feeling gross afterwards. The price wasn’t too bad(about $ 8.50 for the gyro, fries and a drink), and the amount of food was very satisfactory. Verdict — Definitely a good place to dine. Great food, chill place, good price.

Best gyros in Athens! A little bird told me that this business is now closed! This breaks my heart because I wanted one last gyro from the gyro gods!

The amount of good reviews on here surprise me… I had high hopes for this place and was so disappointed. I ordered vegetarian stuffed grape leaves and watched the«chef» take them straight from the fridge, toss them on a plate and microwave them. They sucked and the plate was hotter than the food. I stopped going because the sense of apathy seeping from all of the employees here was just as disappointing as the food. Have they gotten better? I landed on the conclusion that I can make better Mediterranean food at home for way cheaper. I’d be willing to go again if they made improvements but if I’m gonna get microwaved food from a can then I’m staying home.

I don’t understand how this place is rated so highly other than location and hours open, perhaps. There are now at least five Mediterranean/middle eastern eateries in the area, and this is my least favorite. Souvlakis has the best hummus. Salaam has the best atmosphere. Jerusalem and Ali Baba are other, superior options.

Love the atmosphere in here… not very busy for a Friday night in a college town and not a lot of seating, but spacious and relaxing. The ambient music was great and the lighting was peaceful – I could see myself coming in at times like these to work. The service was not quick but very nice and the chicken for the gyro was grilled, well prepared. The seasoning in the soup of the day was excellent. The menu wasn’t necessarily extensive but gluten-free and vegetarian offerings were staples. I’ll be back to try some of the other items.

INCREDIBLE food. First off, this place is a gem for the gluten-free among us, because the gyro and chicken salads are huge and delicious and a screaming deal at $ 7. I am not exaggerating calling this some of the best food in Athens as well as easily the best Mediterranean food I’ve ever eaten. The gyro meat and the chicken are tender and perfectly-spiced, the veggies are abundant and fresh, and the vinaigrette is well-matched. But the baba ghanoush is what is truly making me crave this place every single day I spend in Athens. Garlicky, smoky, rich, essentially the Platonic ideal of baba. I get a side of it every time, just to pile on top of my salad. I regret not buying it by the bucketful. However, I just found out they have garlic sauce — one of the simplest recipes worldwide and one of the best of all time — and yes, it’s incredible, too. In other words, don’t go here on a first date. Or maybe do, because if you’re a garlic lover your mate should be, too, so this could be a good way to weed out the mismatches. The very first time I went here it was a slow night over Xmas break. One of the owners, who wears the smiling assurance of knowing his baba is the best ever, offered us hot tea after we sat down and brought out a tea service on a platter. The icing on the cake. I could not be happier that this place is here. I would have these people cater my wedding were I crazy enough to have one.

As other noted, the décor and dim lighting don’t make for the most inviting atmosphere. However, for cheap Mediterranean eats, Habibi’s is tastier than Ali Babas(a food cart with a similar menu) and is a better value than Salaam. There are daily specials which offer great deals, such as throwing in free sides and drinks. I’m a big fan of the chicken shawarma, which is sliced grilled chicken in a delicious garlic sauce and rolled up in a pita with sliced pickles. I’ve also had the super falafel(falafel, hummus, and tabouli pita), which was good, but not great. One thing that is perplexing is that each time I’ve been to Habibis, the fries have been different. Obviously, consistency is very important for a restaurant to maintain. On several occasions, I’ve ordered fries and received thick cut steak fries. Other times, I’ve been served narrower, McDonalds style fries. The latter variation was far more impressive, as the steak fries are fllabby, unevenly seasoned, and underdone. I thought – and hoped – that the new, skinny fries were here to stay, but during my most recent visit, those disappointing steak fries returned. I just wish they’d pick a style and stick to it! Habibis isn’t amazing, but it’s pretty tasty, filling, and affordable.

Really tasty Mediterranean food at reasonable prices. The dining area is functional, but doesn’t have any atmosphere. However, this is a great place for lunch and an convenient location.

Thank you God! Finally an authentic ethnic food restaurant in town that hasn’t watered down the flavor for Apalachian palates. The food is spot on. Can’t get enough of the chicken kabobs with the to– die– for garlic sauce. The rice pudding is amazing. Get here as quick as you can. Large portions, fair price.

Went here for lunch, got a sort of falafel/tabouli wrap which was muuuuch better than the first one I’d had here. It was super crowded though, and we ended up waiting for a really long time. Go before or after a meal rush.

Delicious food! The hummus is fantastic. The gyros are large. The sauce is delicious. A good value for your money.
