Getting supplies for my daughter’s 1st New Year’s in her 1st apartment. This store has all the paper products and snacks at very reasonable prices.

I love my kroger in Athens… This is my favorite place for grocery shopping! Everything is clean and organized. fresh, and great prices ! They have awesome sales with 10 for 10 items such as bread, frozen veggies, soups, etc. Awesome baked goods. nice flower shop. … why go anywhere else… kroger marketplace has it all !!

I turned to my husband as we left the parking lot and said, «this is where we are coming, forever.» Holy cow is the staff awesome and friendly. Uhmmm the were giving out sushi, olive, and cheese samples! YUM, plus we went up to the fresh seafood and the extremely helpful lady behind the counter gave us shrimp samples! We ended up getting crab, it worked we bought fresh seafood, lol. Love the different sections, the tool section, the clothing, ect. What a fresh new clean store. I refuse to go to Kroger on Alps. Literally, avoid it like the plague.

Whenever I’m in Athens for a visit I supplement my local shopping and co-op visits with trips to Earth Fare and, now, this new Kroger Marketplace out on Hull Road. My bank account demands I compromise just a wee bit on some things but my tummy demands good, wholesome food. Service is beyond excellent here. More than 4 people in line? 2 new ones open up for you with smiling staff. Every transaction we’ve had has been excellent with a genuine(or extremely well faked) concern and/or happiness. It’s almost a bit Stepford Wives around here to be honest. Are people really this nice anymore? Even in the south? The organic produce section isn’t huge but it has good basics and the frozen & dry good organic/vegan/natural section more than makes up for it. I’ve picked up the majority of basic goods that I used to buy at Earth Fare for upwards of ¼ to ½ less. I do miss the recyclable boxes that EF provides but I just bring my own. Sushi is good and will border on great(really! it is!) if you ask them to make you something specifically. They’ve always offered me that option which is super nice. I don’t like crunchy stuff or heavy sauces and so they’ll make a plate to my liking in under 15 minutes and under $ 20. Score! Beer and wine selection isn’t the best(go to Five Points) but it’ll get the job down between cheap basics and a small selection of more crafty/expensive brew/bubbly. Don’t get a sandwich made to order here. My husband loves Kroger sandwiches for some reason but I refuse to buy them if I’m shopping on my own because it takes too long(25+ minutes with almost no line). They usually fill the sandwich counter with the one person who slow as molasses, new and(the one and only person who) doesn’t care about providing a friendly experience. Every time. Every Kroger. I’m done with that section forever. Unlike the Kroger on Alps(thumbs down!) there aren’t piles of random crap heaped in already crowded, narrow aisles. This Kroger keeps it all neat and organized in a ridiculously large clothing/knicknack/etc section. They’re definitely trying to give the ol’ mega stores a run for the money. Add in a jewelry store, pharmacy, mini clinic, phone place, money orders counter, Starbucks and god knows what else, and this place could be mecca for those who seriously want ‘one stop shopping’. Not my thing personally. Parking is ample(for now but may change once the other shops in the lot open) but watch out for those Athens drivers! There are NO4WAYSTOPSINTHISPARKINGLOT so quit pulling out in front of me, ok? Ok. Also, that Bulldog statue thing is scary.
