Okay. So to be honest before I lived in Athens, I didn’t even know that Piggly Wiggly even existed as a grocery store anymore. As it is, this is one that could cease to exist, and it wouldn’t be that missed. Even though it’s nice having a grocery store located close to where I live, the fact that they have pretty early closing hours, and the fact that it’s probably one of the oldest grocery stores around, doesn’t serve to help. Although North Ave. is getting better as an area, there are still a lot of elements that college students would rather not be around, and I don’t usually see many college students shopping here. It’s unfortunate because that might be a reason that’s keeping the grocery store down. Still It gets a two from me for the fact that it’s old, the clientele can be shady(being located so close to the ghetto), and the fact that it closes early and doesn’t have that great of a selection. The only reason it has a two is because of its convenience in location, but mostly if I go grocery shopping its several miles away at the Wal-Mart in Oconee.
