I had the chicken breast pita with the signature sauce. I kept it simple with the toppings but it was still delicious. Friendly service and very clean restaurant. Seating may be an issue but the wait to sit inside on a hot day would be well worth it. The pita sandwiches seem like they travel well too. I’ll definitely be back.

Step out the door. Walk down the street. Go to Gyro Wrap instead. You won’t regret missing this place.

This place is better than your average pita pit. The staff is always friendly and the food is fresh for the most part. Pita Pit is a chain so you’re expectations can’t be too high, but it does offer a bit more healthy food in the downtown Athens scene, especially if you’re looking for something quick and cheap. Side note: the smoothies are a bit pricey and overrated imo

Great food! The pita breads remind me a lot of burritos! They have really great ingredients for the pita bread. The price is very good for what you get. You can also sign up for their emails to get coupons.

Subway with a pita instead of bread. Some of the ingredients are really, really obviously not fresh. Not dangerous, just bland and not desirable. On the plus side, you can load it up for relatively cheap. But really I’d rather just go elsewhere.

The employee Dylan was very unprofessional. A friend of his walked in and he waited at the door. Dylan and the friend had a conversation yelling. Dylan described how he got very intoxicated a few nights before and how he got kicked out of a bar. This is incredibly unprofessional. I won’t be visiting this location again.

A cute little place in downtown Athens. Don’t know why I did not ever eat here during my school days. I’ve definitely been inside, but never actually eaten here. Man did I miss out. The concept is like Subway or Your Pie – build your own food item. The ingredients were fresh and delish. The chicken Caesar is a good choice. The place was small so accommodating large groups isn’t ideal. It’s more of an order and go type joint. Just order and take your food and sit on UGA’s campus or around downtown since Athens has pretty nice weather. Beware the pollen though because you can even see a wave of green at times. Lol. Parking is wherever since this is around the busy downtown area. Don’t forget to feed the meter. You can park in the student decks or lots after 5PM and during the weekends if you don’t mind a tad of a walk. Look for Jittery Joes at the corner and you’ll see Pita Pit. It’s sort of underground on the basement level btw.

Grabbed a few sandwiches to go. We ordered a Caesar and a gyro. Both were really big with lots of toppings and very flavorful. We will be back every time we come to Athens.

Buncha no-shows, never show up anywhere. You try to invite them over and tell them to bring some food, but they always make excuses, «oh sorry we forgot» or «out kids had a soccer game». C’mon the least you could do is give us the food we paid for.

Wow! What happened to Pita Pit? I haven’t been in a while because my last experience was so horrific, but I decided to give them one more try today. My coworker went to pick up our food. I ordered a hummus pita with grilled veggies, lettuce, tomato, and sauces. The pita I received did not even have hummus on it, but in it’s place had pieces of burnt meat that had probably been on the grill for days. I took one bite and threw the whole thing away. I will not be returning to this location.

The food was really good. We both had regular gyros. The reason I gave them 3 stars and not four is because I thought 6.25 for the gyro wrap was a little much and there were only two tables in the restaurant.

What took me so long to try this place out? On a recent trip to Athens a friend suggested I try this place out. I’m always looking to try new things so I went for it, and man am I glad I did. I wasn’t sure what to order I am so accustomed to getting the same Publix sandwich after work. This was a welcomed change! The more than helpful staff pointed me in the right direction and I was not disappointed. The meat was fresh and delicious! I noticed everything inside was clean and well stocked a nice touch! And again the staff was great. I love when people project that they like what they do, no matter what it is. They were helpful and polite and for that reason I know I’ll be back. If you are on the fence about breaking away from shops like Subway, don’t think twice about it you won’t be disappointed!

Returning to Pita Pit time and time again is like going to see an old friend. For a quick lunch or dinner its a great alternative to other fast food places. It is also a solid option if you are looking for something different around campus. Parking is usually easy to snag(like anywhere else in downtown). Late night and during peak lunch times it can get a little crazy in this tiny location but that is to be expected so just be patient. It seems under-staffed during the few crazy hours a day but most of the time it is relatively empty. It is essentially like a tastier subway in that you pick your meat, toppings, and sauces. The chicken is my favorite with caesar dressing. All of the pitas are available as salads as well. The salads are large and they are happy to load on the toppings for you. I wouldn’t consider pita pit the cleanest, most delicious, or nicest place to go in Athens but it serves its purpose as a quick, tasty bite of personalized food. Eating on campus can start to get really repetitive so branch out and give pita pit a go.

My roommate has been building this place up for a year now, and it did not disappoint. These full flavored wraps take late-night drunk food to another level! With there great location and hours, its clear who they’re catering to… and i’m no complaining. No wild night in Athens is complete without it.

Out of food and dirty-handed servers. I usually like the Pita Pit, but this location is bad news. We arrived at 8:30 on a Saturday night — not prime time, granted, but not terribly late for weekend dinner at a college town. There was a line of about five people waiting to place an order, which is usually a good sign for campus proximate restaurants. We later discovered the line wasn’t due to the quality of the pitas — but was actually caused because one of the servers hadn’t shown up for the night shift. The poor lone person left working looked like a left over extra from«Night of the Damned» — or maybe«Night of too many drugs and not enough sleep.» He eventually took our orders, accepted payment, and then set to work to make the poor pitas. He then found out the store had no bacon and no gyros. He wasn’t sure what else he had, but helpfully offered to substitute everything with ham. Pita worker of the damned then started by selecting the bread, then put in the spinach, then **he wiped his nose with his hand,** then stuck that same dirty hand into the cheese bin to continue making the pita. We won’t be back.

I am a huge fan of Pita Pit in downtown athens. Everytime I need a bite to eat while roaming the bar scene I choose this nearby place. They serve a variety of pitas ranging from a chicken caesar ranch pita to just a plain turkey pita(my favorite). The only downside to this location is that it can get super crowded… which means hungry drunk people + long lines = lots of arguments and yelling. It starts getting busy at 12am on weekends but the closer it gets to 2am the worse it gets. The people who work there are super nice and handle the crowds well. It’s a good little spot. Oh, and if you want a table get there early because they only have a few but if I were you i’d get my pita to go!
