It truly doesn’t get any better than Purple Chopstix! The Sweet Potato Peanut Pasta is amazing, and so is the Yellow Curry. My husband loves the Red Curry and my daughter is crazy for the Seafood Crepes. Amazing service from Aysha! And you must try Ed’s Sunday Brunch! This is an Athens gem!

Very cute little Restaurant with a very cool Charm to it! It’s defiantly not for everyone but I thought their homemade soup was delicious and worth the price! The food deemed to be quality and although it’s not very packed it’s definitely a place I would go to again! Excellent service very clean and so worth the adventure!

One of my favorite restaurants in town! It’s such a cozy little place. I love to come with a group of girlfriends for birthday dinners and take over the back room. It’s also a romantic place for a date! Several choices for outside seating too — you can eat on the patio or even on a new deck across the creek! You will be offered the choice of Tom Yum soup or a side salad with your meal. CHOOSETHESOUP. It is soooo good!!! The Tom Yum is the best best best, spicy and flavorful. I am obsessed with it! It’s always hard to decide on an entrée, but I love the Bolivian al Gusto, the yellow and red curries, and the sweet potato peanut pasta. Their chocolate raspberry cake is to die for when they have it! I like that it’s BYOB, so you can bring whatever you want! Oh, and their Sunday brunch buffet is also great. A wide variety of deliciousness. Mmmmm!

Purple Chopstix is my favorite restaurant in Athens. I always go for the Daisy stir fry and it’s always delectable. Staff are nice and the vibe is true Athens. I’ve been about a dozen or more times. Warning: they sometimes run out of their chocolate cake, which makes me want to cry.

A little pricey. Good for the vegetarians. Might need to make a reservation. I got the Sweet Potato Peanut Pasta and it was legit, so was the Tom Yum Soup. If you’re trippin you may not want to go in because it’s definitely decorated with some sensory overload stuff but I liked it. They support Passionworks in town which is cool.

This place isn’t for everyone, but that’s part of its charm. It’s predominantly vegetarian, and any vegan would be happy here, though they offer a handful of seafood and chicken options. The menu and the interior are delightfully eclectic and contain a nice dose of Athens weirdness. Most importantly, the kitchen knows what they’re doing, and makes an array of tasty food that defies categorization. Their Sunday brunch is one of my favorite meals in Athens. Very laid back place with a friendly vibe. Parking can be a challenge, and service is on Athens time(not a place for people in a rush). Sit back and enjoy your meal.

It’s really more of a 3.5. The food is awesome… sometimes. The main complaint I have about this restaurant is the consistency of the food. Food can come out a little cold, over seasoned(salty or way to much raw garlic), or under seasoned. This is an observation made over ~20 visits as it is a favorite of the co-workers and the wife. I would still take out of town guests here for a nice relaxing dinner.

If you want an AMAZING brunch, this is the best in Athens! Ed Fisher does an incredible job with flavors to tickle all your taste-buds! One of the very few places you can dine outside and the décor is delightful. The service is always friendly(like you are family!) and down to earth. I love their dinners. The menu is small, but everything is delicious! Highly recommended as a fun and delicious time!

I finally went to this restaurant yesterday after having heard good things about it for months. I’m a sucker for Sunday brunch, and once I found out they had it there I knew I had to try it. While it seemed a bit steep at $ 15(all inclusive), it wound up being worth every penny. The food was AWESOME. Gigantic omelets stuffed to the gills with the tastiest ingredients, fresh deluxe salads with homemade salad dressings, french toast with REAL maple syrup, wontons, samosas, fresh made from scratch biscuits with delicious sausage gravy(that was actually soysage! had no idea), extremely tasty yogurt with fresh blueberries and granola if you wanted it, cut fruit, shrimp, marinated veggies, vegetarian sushi, quality coffee with real dairy to put in it – let’s just say it was hard to leave. The cheesecake for dessert was pretty good, too. The icing on the cake was the décor within. Passionworks is a local artist studio that assists developmentally challenged artists in creating and selling their work, and it appears that the owner of Purple Chopstix is a big supporter. The colors burst from every corner. Even the bathroom is beautifully decorated. Purple Chopstix has the feel of a family friend’s cozy living room and I could sit there and eat and converse for hours, literally. I will be returning as soon as I can. Take note that brunch on Sundays starts at 11am and they seat until 1pm, and weekday hours are 5−8pm.

I’ve lived here for over six years, and yesterday was the first time I stopped by at this Thai Fusion/Latin American restaurant off of Richland Ave. An understated restaurant presence in the Athens community, Purple Chopstix does offer flavors otherwise absent in a fifty-mile radius. Unfortunately, the food is salty, sad, and uninspired. Red and green curries taste no better than a $ 3.95 offering anywhere else – in fact, much worse, due to the saltiness. My order of curry with tofu came with chicken instead – which was itself overcooked. The single server was nice enough to take it away, but returned with an undercooked tofu curry. Serves me right for complaining, I guess. Other dishes I sampled suffered similar issues, minus the rather serious protein mix-up. Tom yum soup and salads were good, however. But after six years of waiting, a tremendous disappointment. BYOB. Entrees $ 12 – 18. Open most days for dinner only, some weekend brunches.
