The Saddle up has reopened as a BBQ place. I can’t really rate it as I haven’t tried it yet. The old signs are still up so I don’t know what their new name is.

I live near this restaurant and go in spurts. I find the food is always good but the service less than exceptional. Every time I seem to go in there there is a glitch in service not getting the order right having to wait for people who are on their way but they don’t take reservations. Howie is very friendly and kind but one of his waitresses very rude and inconsiderate I seem to always get her. The problem I have is they keep changing their hours so I never really know when they’re open or closed. I return because of the food the stakes are amazing and cooked to perfection or pulled pork sandwiches are the same. But because of the service I tend to stay away.

Not sure about this place. I can’t bring myself to spend the $$ on the steak to know if it’s really worth the cost of $ 22 and up. I only paid this much money for a steak at famous steakhouses in inner cities with much fancier sides and dinner bread. I’d prefer they have smaller 6 – 8 oz steaks at more affordable price. Wish they did breakfast all day. Good place for a burger/fries for Athol. Great, cozy atmosphere. Though thinking only if you don’t own a car and/or can’t drive to CDA or Sandpoint. Needs a wow factor to keep us coming…

I’ve been here a few times. The biscuits and gravy are ok. Eggs are always rubbery and bland. The staff is friendly but the food is just average.

I ventured here about a month ago with my parents. They have been here a few times prior, and stated that I needed to check this little place out. We arrived about 8, at this point there was only a few locals and us. The service was good. Our waitress kept our coffee and water filled(always a good sign). I decided on the veggie-bacon omelet, while ma’ had eggs and a biscuit and pa’ had the biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits were very tasty and definitely homemade… and the gravy, well, it was goooood. That being said, it’s sad to report that they’re only going to serve dinner now:(Until I can get back for dinner to try their talked-about smoked prime rib and/or ribs, I shall dream of their biscuits.
