these people know nothing of customer service or about the loyalty of customers
as a customer who had been coming here for four years youd think theyd have enough common sense to tell me your car cant be inspected today
theres a problem which i would have made an appt for that isnstead of slapping a rejection sticker on my car
wasting my money
i will never go to a place of business that has a total lack of respect for they’re loyal customers!

Thank you DAVE, et al! My engine light was ON and I also needed some brake work done, along with an oil change. I was a little cranky about the wait, I’ll admit. But after I thought about it, realized that they were just trying to do the job properly and it wasn’t exactly an easy thing to diagnose and correct. Dave did TRY to explain it all to me, but that was sort of futile, because I really do not understand much about cars. Initially we had (prior to bringing it into Speedee) per the auto part store, replaced an Oxygen Sensor, but THAT apparently was not the problem at all and our replacing it may have actually worsened some related issues.

Dave apparently properly diagnosed whatever the trouble really was and it involved timing and all sorts of complicated, possible issues. He used a reasoned, process of elimination approach, that saved on costs. And of course, it isn’t their fault if they need parts and have to order them. SO, after a couple days and some separation anxiety, I had the car back (YAY) and the light was off and having driven several hundred miles, thus far has NOT come back on. It seems to be running better and more efficiently and safer for the public at large, now that the brake work is done!
The costs were very reasonable. I do think they try to get the job done right and they are so knowledgeable that, if you’re anything like me, it won’t make a bit of sense to you, BUT the job will get done, right! :-)

Staff are very helpful, prices are fair, and they have a fairly comfortable waiting room. If you have a question, the staff will go out of their way to try to answer the question or get you the answer. They don’t pressure you into buying extras that you don’t really need, but will tell you about the recommended services at the proper times for your vehicle. Other places I have been to try to tell you that you need everything extra done. Most of it I will do myself when the weather is warmer anyway. I have been coming here for a few years when I don’t have time to do my own oil changes, and will give them the business over Jiffy Lube any day.

It’s such a reassuring feeling when you’ve found a quality place to take your car for the regular upkeep it requires. The guys at SpeeDee in Athol, MA, have been nothing but courteous and helpful, as well as thorough and prompt. And the prices are extremely fair. After meeting the owner recently, Dave S., I see the apples (of staff) haven’t fallen far from Dave’s tree! It’s no wonder he expects the best from his team as he is what a good leader exemplifies. I had a business matter to discuss with Dave and he politely made the time to see me, without my scheduling an appointment in advance, even though I know how insanely busy his schedule is. Dave listened with interest to what I had to say and couldn’t have been more down to earth, responsible and clearly dedicated to ensuring his customers leave with the best experience they would expect for whatever car-​related reason they’ve had to come to SpeeDee. This is the only place you need if in you’re in the Quabbin area … or western, central Mass.

I had a remarkably nice experience at this place — considerably better than any other quick oil change shop I have been to. The guys running the shop were genuinely nice, and they didn’t try to upsell me on anything. Just did their job well and explained everything clearly. And there was no wait. What more could you ask?

After the Overhaul, this place is a great place! The staff has got to be the most polite, helpful and wonderful staff I’ve ever encountered. Before you spend any money, they go with you for a test drive so they can see/​hear what you are noticing. Then, they also take it in and give it a free look over and let you know what’s wrong with the car. Unlike how Speedee used to be (before the overhaul and new owners and staff), they don’t make up problems, and they don’t tell you «Yes, there is an issue» when there isn’t. Also, if you only have one vehicle, and you can’t stay there due to previous obligations, the staff will personally drive you home and if need be, pick you up! I have never had such a pleasant experience with any mechanics until our Newly Overhauled Speedee took on some major changes. The Staff cares about you. Like, really cares! Amazing! Go here if you think you have a problem. If they find you don’t have a problem, they will tell you instead of making up things to get your money. The customer actually «comes first» here. Good Job to the new owner, you should be proud!
