The Atholl House

My wife and I have been there many times, found the place to be very clean, staff was very friendly, and service was excellent. Have had no complaints about the food, very well run place, would recommend to anyone. A++++.

Have been here a half dozen times since they opened, for breakfast and lunch. Simple and attractive atmosphere. Friendly service. Haven’t tried a lot from their menu, but most of the time, have really liked what we ordered. Eggs were cooked just right. Lunch favorites are the pulled pork sandwich (I order it with sweet potato fries), Thanksgiving sandwich, and BBQ chicken bacon quesadilla — all very tasty and good sized. The soft pretzel sticks with beer-​cheese dipping sauce is great! As far as suggestions, I’d like to see a greater selection of dark beers on tap, and the coffee could be better. It’s never been busy any of the times we’ve been there for breakfast or lunch — kind of concerning. We want this place to succeed. Hopefully the word is getting around that this is a good place to eat. Gonna check out the live music on Friday nights.

I went to Athol house today while my son was at a appointment. In 45 minutes they could not serve simple boneless buffalo wings. I ended up getting my son and going back to pick up what turned into a to go order. The boneless wings were tough and made like crap. I can not see them in business for long if this kind of service continues. They wven charged me for them still.

We ordered take out tonight & got The Buffalo Skins, The Smoke House Burger (Medium Rare), & a Side Garden Salad… They were all very good. Burger was cooked Medium Rare like we asked for (so many times it’s over cooked at other restaurants) the flavor combinations were spot on & the fries were great! Buffalo chicken diced up on top of potato skins is a great idea & they tasted awesome! The bar tender who took my order, packed up my food & cashed me out was super friendly & professional. She also went the extra mile to ask if I wanted any ranch etc. For the potato skins & asked if I was going home or if I was going to need plastic silverware! Definitely a good place to go for a good meal & spend time w/​friends & family. They had half the bar & tables occupied & everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Nice atmosphere!

They did a great job renovating and redecorating the place, good food, good booze selection, fast service as well.

Had a fantastic breakfast here, omelets were delicious and the home fries were great. ⁴⁄₅ because they didn’t have any jelly/​jam for the toast and the prices seemed slightly steep.

Went for lunch a few weeks ago. Sixty bucks for three people was steep for Athol. Food was decent, with an emphasis on decent. I’ll probably go back since it’s close and the atmosphere is really warm. The wait staff are very friendly, if a tad slow.

Pretty darn good here. Going to have to eat more food here to get a better idea/​opinion of the place. So far, so good.

Staff super-​friendly, place is fun and lively and the food was yummy! We went on a Thursday and it wasn’t too busy so our food came quickly. We got fried pickles and burgers, everything was great. We’d love to come back on the weekend when they have live music!

Well… tried to go to Blind Pig, but there was a wait. Friends at bar suggested Atholl House (and highly recommended Meatloaf Panini).
Get to Atholl House ½ hour before food service ends (@ 8:00). Place is empty… which is a little concerning.
Totally thrilled with service. Beer on tap choices are good (Magic Hat #9 on tap… yay!). Pretzel sticks w/​ale cheese sauce=good. Loaded steak sandwich=good. Prices are great.
Will be back.

I wasn’t sure if I should give this 4 or 5 stars, but settled on 5 because the rib-​eye steak I had was delicious. The dining room was empty except for a table of 4 ladies who were finishing up their meals. Our waitress came over right away and took our drink orders and told us the specials. That is when I settled on the ribeye steak special. While the décor is a bit dated it was a very homey feel and we were quite comfy there.
The food was hot and delicious and good sized portions. The service was excellent. I will return when next time in Athol.

My first experience there was for breakfast and for the same cost, or less I think there are better local breakfast spots. It was busy, but we did have to request the server to bring the items we ordered and didn’t find the breakfast to be very remarkable. That said, we tried it for lunch and dinner and were favorably impressed. If you love a good burger and fries, you’ve got to try this place, they grill the roll to perfection, and the garnishes are generous. The fries are done perfectly, we were both really pleased with the place, the food and this time, the service was very attentive. Another time I was there and had the fish dinner which was also excellent. So five stars for the lunch and dinner, and that does get balanced out by the less than stellar breakfast experience. Again, if you are looking for the quintessential burger, you’ll probably be very pleased!

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Slow kitchen and poor service. We saw the girl who wasn’t our server more than our server. We were the only ones in the restaurant at lunchtime on a Sunday (should have been our warning) and it still took half hour to get microwaved chicken tenders, an omelette and a burger. Had to ask for drink refills.

We had a great meal here the other night. Steak tips and haddock were delicious. Super friendly staff and it’s so great to have a new place in town. I will definitely go back.

Slow for breakfast on busy mornings but well worth the wait. I have now been for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lunch and dinner are much faster. Mixed drinks are good, somewhat decent beer selection. Food is simple but good. Loved the strawberry salad. The cooks must be inexperienced at fast cooking for crowds hope they speed up soon.

Well we tried a second time to give them a second chance.
A few months back we did breakfast and it was a nightmare. Food that was brought was not what was ordered, we cut them some slack because they had just opened.
We went back tonight and it was pretty disappointing but let me say first the service was awesome they can’t help the product that they deliver.
Took us 35 minutes to get our food from the time we ordered, the not so funny thing is we ordered sandwiches. Bread was stale on a BLT, onion rings overcooked or cooked from frozen not sure but they were very chewy.
French fries were cold.
Pretty disappointing for waiting 35 minutes, the highlight was the beer was cold
Unfortunately we will not return for a third time.

I want to like this new Resteraunt because it’s local. We went for breakfast first and ordered a few things so we could judge. Pancake small thin not cooked well, Belguim waffle not crisp couldn’t hold melted butter, hash canned but cooked crispy, home fries soft. Maybe needs more attention to detail even though it’s just breakfast fare it could be better.
Service polite, checked back for coffee.
Atmosphere inviting and relaxing.
Resteraunt restrooms clean.
Will I return probably to try another mealtime.

Great service, nice atmosphere and excellent food!
We have been 4 times since their recent opening and everything has been consistently delicious! We have no complaints thus far.
Breakfast, burgers, pannini’s, chili dogs, fried pickles! All great!
Pubby type of atmosphere with class, in the front and family friendly booths & tables in the back.
Advertised specials and hours extending.
Unlike the most previous owners, I think they will do well!
