Aamco Transmissions

last week I dropped in for a quick ½ hour oil change. through a comedy of errors (not all their fault) it ended up taking almost 3 hours. Clarence, the owner, wanted to make it right so he agreed to do some other work on my car ½ off. like I said, it wasn’t all their fault it took so long. he didn’t have to give me the extra. but Clarence wanted to make up for it all the same. not make excuses. very good customer service.

I had been taking my truck here for years, even referring my niece and best friend to them. Both people I sent to them were told they needed extra work that they didn’t really need. In my niece’s case she had gotten the work done a month earlier at Sears so she took it back to them and they said Aamco was lying and she took it to a friend’s husband, a tech at a dealership, who also said Aamco was lying. As for my best friend, his dad is a mechanic a few hours from here and had recently worked on his car and told him the work was just to pad their bill. He even made a trip up to check it out that weekend and found no problem.
I got my radiator replaced by them. And when I got my vehicle back about a week later I was driving on 285 and it overheated. I pulled over and immediately realized the hose clamps had been left off the heat control valve so two of the hoses came loose. The only reason I know this is because I had just changed the heat control valve myself and put 4 brand new clamps on the connectors. Anyone, can make a mistake but for my next repair I went elsewhere and they said I would need to replace the radiator soon because someone had driven a screw into it.
