Advanced Massage Network

**note: This review is about my experience with customer service, not a massage session**
I called Advanced Massage Network yesterday to attempt to redeem a Groupon that I purchased last month, and was told that it could not be honored because it was «detrimental to the business.» While I understand that this business may have had issues with Groupon, and that the voucher may have offered too much, what I did not appreciate was the tone of the woman on the phone. She seemed irritated and annoyed by the fact that I asked ANY questions about why the voucher couldn’t be redeemed, and what kind of process I needed to go through for a refund. First, I do not think that if a person has already purchased a Groupon that they should be penalized for a business not being aware of the fact that it is discounting too much. Next, the client should not be told to coordinate their own refunds before the person attempts to see how they can make the deal work in some way. For instance, I would have probably been fine with a 90 minute massage, instead of the 120 minute massage that I purchased. However, the lady was rude and it wasn’t until I started pointing out her lack of professionalism that she reluctantly offered an apology or understanding of the fact that I, the client, had been inconvenienced by the situation. By the end of the conversation, she seemed to recognize that her attitude had likely cost her a loyal future customer. If a business underestimates the costs and benefits of their Groupon deal, they should probably not turn away potential business. Again, I would have been more than willing to negotiate another deal, but I was treated as an inconvenience. If you appreciate excellent customer service, or you are thinking about purchasing a Groupon (or similar) voucher for this business, I would not recommend.

I had a great massage here. My entire body was extremely sore and tired from working out. Alexis was really helpful and I felt a lot better the next day. I would recommend this place!

It’s hard to find a good place to get a consistently beneficial massage. Alexis delivers above expectations every time I see him. He is excellent at unwinding and releasing all the pain and tightness I develop from living a super active lifestyle. An absolute must for any athlete or someone experiencing ongoing muscular pain.
I don’t hesitate to recommend him to all my friends.
