Dr. Baawo may be a competent dentist but I don’t know. I have a molar tooth that needs either a replacement filling or a crown and found his practice on Living Social. Several discounts are offered for an initial examination, a filling and a crown. I called and talked to the receptionist about the Living Social Discounts and whether they would apply if it turned out I needed a crown. She said that a coupon for the initial examination would be honored for the filling and applied against a crown if needed. When I realized that I would need the filling or crown soon(the filling was flaking) I called and changed the initial appointment from an examination to either a filling or a crown and confirmed that the coupon would apply to either. I arrived early and waited outside a locked door until the receptionist got back from lunch. She then had me fill out paper work that was inapplicable to my needs. The dental assistant then started my examination and seemed surprised when I told him what was written above. He left to talk to the Doctor. The Doctor entered the room and the first thing he said wasn’t hello; rather, he wanted to get«my side» of the problem. It went downhill from there. Dr. Baawo isn’t a fan of looking at you. He doesn’t answer questions, that is for his subordinates. As to their responses? We aren’t saying whether you were lied to or not but, if you want a crown, the price is double what the lady told you. Go elsewhere. Oh, and the TV was playing some celebrity gossip channel.

I went in last week(07⁄14) for a regular cleaning and to have him take a look at an unfinished root canal(still need my crown). The staff was extremely personable and nice. Time kind of flew by while I was there because they made me very comfortable. Dr. Baawo looks very young, but has a very old-soul feel to him, which I love. It helps to really create a calm, serene environment which is always a major plus when dealing with dentist offices. I’d recommend him to family and friends!

Dr. Al was very nice the first couple times my wife and I went in. Then he started hiring people who didn’t really know what they were doing. He played terrible movies while he was working on me and did not ask about my opinion. Then he made me wait over 2 hours one time. Then after he finally finished my root canal the tooth didn’t fit right so I had to wait even longer for it to be finished. THEN after 6 months the tooth fell out!!! I asked him to put it back in and he refused! THEN my wife went in for a cleaning and they refused to honor the coupon they sent us. WEWILLNEVERGOBACK.
