Appalling is the nicest thing I can say about this location and their rude below sub par staff. I have loved Bakers shoes for years, though usually purchase at Lenox or the now closed Town Center location; every time I have visited the Cumberland location, I receive poor service(such as no acknowledgement from staff upon entering the store, attitude from staff when asking questions about styles/colors, or needing different sizes, etc.) which is why I don’t frequent this location unless I have to… like my visit yesterday, September 4th. My latest visit to to this location proved to be my worst customer service experience ever — not just from Bakers in general, but from ANY retail business. I only came to this location to return(with receipt) a pair of shoes I had purchased(unworn, of course) at Lenox two days prior. I was refused a return, despite the fact that the shoes had never even been removed from the box, the receipt was present, purchase was TWO days prior, and I presented them with the same card which I originally used to purchase the shoes. The«manager» — Bea — was disgustingly beligerant, rude, impossible, and unsurpassingly unprofessional, so I informed her that I was not interested in speaking with her, due to these reasons, and I requested the corporate number to contact with a massive complaint; the«manager» then — well, after rolling ger eyes and adding a few neck and head rolls — threw a piece of paper at me with the number, which landed in the floor. When I called, the number was disconnected and a Google search showed NO connections with Bakers. I put this call on speaker phone and requested that someone provide me with a working, and accurate number, to which the«manager» told me she didn’t know what to tell me because that’s all she would give me. After a few choice words, she scribbled down another number; when I called, it was a personal numver, again NOT related to Bakers. While the company itself may have some cute shoes from time to time(though both quality and appearance have gone down since Bakers was bought out), the Cumberland Bakers offers appalling service from kids who want to mock their customers rather than provide them with even mediocre customer service. I will NEVER step foot at this location again, and being honest, this ridiculous experience has entirely cost Bakers my business. Thanks to the employees at the Cumberland Bakers who, rather than perform their jobs in a respectful manner which would reflect positively on the company as a whole, would rather show their asses and be hood rich divas, my casual shoe business will solely go to Guess, Aldo, and Steve Madden, who provide service almost comparable to that which I receive at Prada, Fendi, and Neiman Marcus. Unless Bakers wants to lose even more business, they need to unload their trashy staff and replace with people who not only appreciate and value their jobs(considering this economy), but also present Bakers as a whole in a better way because right now, they show that being disrespectful is more important than offering customers who support their business(and ultimately pay their salaries with what we spend) with proper customer service.

I really wish I could give this place less than 1 star. I went in to return two pairs of shoes that turned out to be a terrible choice for me. I JUST bought these shoes last Monday so they were well within the 14 day return policy. I get to the store to be told I could either come back next week or take a store credit. WHATTHEHECK?! Is that even legal? The cashier suggested I drive to Lenox mall Bakers to get a refund. I get there and am told the EXACT same thing! PLEASE avoid ALL Bakers shoe store if you value your money. They are quick to take your money, but do not give a damn about your satisfaction as a customer!
