I am currently in Balance Yoga’s basics series, and I love it! Kathy is very helpful and in touch with the needs of beginner students. The included free Mysore classes are a great way of transitioning into the flow of the practice. Although I was nervous about the independent nature of Mysore, I had nothing to be worried about, as the teachers are attentive to all of the individual needs in the class — from beginners, to experienced yogis. I’d recommend this studio to anyone!

This is the best way to be introduced to yoga. The basic series really helps build your foundation to not only the Ashtanga method of yoga, but to all practices. Kathy and Marsha are kind and knowledgeable. Mysore classes are very hands on and these adjustments will help build a very strong and proper practice. The space is brand new and beautiful. Very quiet and clean. I highly recommend Balance yoga l!

Balance Yoga is my yoga home in Atlanta. When I moved back to Atlanta a few months ago from New York, I wondered where I might end up. As fortune would have it, Balance moved from Buckhead to the Emory area, and that issue was settled. Balance yoga is primarily an Ashtanga studio. They offer mysore classes in the traditional style, but what I like are the vinyasa classes, which have a lot of the asanas of Ashtanga. It’s a lovely studio space, owned and operated by Marsha McNeight with kindness and integrity. I recommend all of the teachers, Nancy Davis, Jackie, et al. are fantastic.

I practice Ashtanga, so this is as good as it gets. Amazing teachers, clean modern space… lots of options for practice times… They have 2 big rooms, one for Ashtanga, and one for Vinyasa style flow. They have spacious restrooms /changing areas & a really nice shower too. I would say check them out!

I’m so glad that Balance Yoga moved to this location! I live less than a 5 minute drive away, as it is located close to Emory. There is a small parking lot out front, so you won’t have a problem finding parking. The studio is small and tucked away, but there are two yoga rooms inside. I have been to two classes here so far, and perhaps it is because they are new to this area, both the classes I have been to have been very small. The first class I went to was the«Vinyasa Flow All Levels» course, where there were three people total, including myself and the instructor. The instructor was very knowledgeable, but not very hands on as I would’ve expected for a small class, but perhaps that is just her style. I especially enjoyed the«Vinyasa Flow Level II» course, with only five people including the instructor. This instructor was much more hands on, and made minor adjustments to my poses that really enhanced my stretches. All the instructors are filled with so much positive energy. At the end of each class during savasana, the instructors put a lavender/lemon(?) towel over your eyes to relax.
