Condemned not open. Which piss me off badly. For it to say still open on the website and on Unilocal and it’s not. Me and my family came from great distance for BBQ and it was none, it didn’t even look like it had been open in months… Well your lost

Visiting Atlanta for the first time, wanted some really good, no play BBQ. And this place was really great, everything was great. The rib tips and pork sausage were great. Definitely going back Only gripe is sides portion size could be a bit bigger especially for price. Outside of that great food

Hands down the BEST barbecue I’ve ever had. This place doesn’t get enough credit. The décor is simple and the place is really cozy but don’t let that fool you. If you want good food then come here. I had the chicken dinner and honestly I didn’t know chicken could taste so good. SOMOIST and fell off the bone! And I don’t know if he makes the bbq sauce but that stuff is amazing. My boyfriend had the brisket. I’m not a beef eater but he loved it, super moist and tender. This is now my number one barbecue place.

I’ve been wanting to check this place out for a while now, and finally decided to drop in today. I entered and a couple was in the middle of yelling at the girl working about a creative loafing deal. These customers were being loud and rude about demanding to speak to management, while openly questioning the girl workings intelligence«you would think with all these colleges around here that someone could do basic math *insert pompous laugh*». They were more than overreacting to what seemed like a simple misunderstanding. After the girl working asked if she could help other customers(the complaining coupled screamed out, «NO, WE’RE customers,) the man in front of me was helped, and then I got to order. They were out of ribs, then my card wouldn’t swipe on the ipad. I checked my account and I had 4 transactions for Bludso’s show up, but the girl said my card was being declined(I’d made a transaction right before coming in, and made one at Burger King 5 minutes after leaving.) This is all while the dynamic duo is causing a scene. I would’ve liked to work out my issue, but couldn’t get a word in because of the two jerks yelling to speak to the owner on the phone. I finally got my card back and left. I’ve come across waitresses/cashiers not knowing about CL before, or maybe not being sure what to do and it’s always a simple issue to resolve. Instead of discussing the CL deal, or politely showing the girl their voucher they jumped from 0 – 100 and just started being awful. I hangout in Casteleberry hill and love BBQ so maybe I’ll give it another try, but I really just wanted to leave a comment that the owner sees and hopefully they know the girl working today(short hair) handled those two awful people like a CHAMP. They were disrespectful as hell and causing an ugly scene in what seems like a nice place.

Wow, this place was awful. Honestly I don’t know why it got so many positive reviews. I was asking myself, were these reviewers bribed with a guilt trip if they didn’t change their review? Were they friends with the owner? But let’s get to the review. We ordered a variety of menu items. The chicken was tasty but nowhere near amazing. The rib tips were dry and did not taste fresh. I suspect the barbecue sauce was store bought. The sides were really small. The mac and cheese had a weird, garlic like flavor. It had too much cheese and very little macaroni. The coleslaw was pretty good. They were out of collard greens unfortunately. We also had the beef brisket and potato salad. Both were forgettable and the pulled pork sandwich had no flavor without sauce. Anyone who knows barbecue can tell you the meat should be good even without sauce. I was impressed with the red velvet cake. It was moist and delicious but but guess what, it’s made from an outside vendor. Bludso’s service is excellent and it’s a nice-looking, clean restaurant(including restrooms and floors). There’s also a flat-screened TV tuned to sports. But I can skip the trendy décor for some real barbecue which can be found anywhere else including Ebony and Ivory, Fox Brothers, Big Daddy’s, a backyard, even a hole in the wall food truck on the side of a gas station. Without Scoutmob, two meals and dessert to share(a sandwich and one side plus a two meat combo dinner) would have cost $ 34. Considering the small sides and the quality of the food, it was way over-priced. I would not recommend it or return.

Just stopped in for a chicken link sandwhich. The meat was delicious. However, for a sandwhich over 6 bucks, I thought the portion size was small. The sandwhich also came with two slices of thin white bread. I would have appreciated a better bread selection(i.e. a loaf or hamburger bun). I’ve been a fan of Bludso’s for years. I’m from LA and always frequented the Compton location. The food in the Atlanta location is just as delicious, but for the increased prices, I hope they improve on the quality a tad bit. I was here last weekend as well and had the two meat combo. It was delicious as well and I had no complaints on that.

This is a great hidden gem. I had the rip tips plate. So good! The sauce was great, and meat was tender. Definitely will come back

The meats taste a lot better than the veggies, but overall, this is good BBQ with outstanding customer service! The restaurant is located in historic Castleberry Hills near the West End and downtown Atlanta. It’s mostly street parking, which may be a bit of a challenge, particularly at night. However, there is plenty of seating if you choose to dine in. I had the beef rib dinner with collards and I got a chance to taste the chicken with mac and cheese. The food portions are decent and the prices are comparable to what you can get. I enjoyed my experience and definitely recommend this place. Everyone has a different preference when it comes to BBQ, so even if you find this food, okay, I think you’ll appreciate the customer service. That goes a long way!

April showers brings May BBQ lol decided to check Compton’s finest out today. Pleased with my two meet lunch combo(comes with two sides, .50¢ extra for collards and Mac, and very delicious cornbread) which was 10.75 and I used the dine in scout mob which was 50% off YAY! I got double Ribs(4bones) fall of the bone tender, the greens were good and fresh BUT wished they had more of a sizzling spice to them though, rather salt. I did NOT like the Mac, mines wasn’t fresh, it was actually cold when it came out, after being heated I realized it was wayyy too much salt/pepper, not creamy, It was Ghetto Ghetto Mac. I told one of the workers who asked me how it was and was like«that’s what’s up» umm NO lol other than that customer Service was 100! My half and half did not possess a fresh brewed/fresh squeezed taste so that was heartbreaking. Will return for the ribs and corn bread! Lol oh and tell them if you want your sauce on the side

I really liked this place. Hubby and I went for dinner. We split the rib plate, which I thought was a really good price($ 12.50 for 4 ribs and 2 sides). Got the beans and the Mac & cheese for sides(also got a side of coleslaw). The sides were a little small I though, but at the end of the meal(which is we split, even) we were satisfied.

After the last review I wrote, the owner Damien contacted me wanting an opportunity to change my mind about his ribs. That alone is commendable so I gave it a try. I must admit that it took me a long time to make the second trip to his restaurant because I did not think he could change my mind but he did. The rib tips were a night and day difference. They were super tender and the sauce(even though the tips didnt need them) was good too. The sides i got(mac and cheese, greens and potato salad) were really flavorful. Damien definitely made a loyal customer out of me. I also want to add that the place is super clean on the inside and really comfortable to dine in at.

You know, it’s rare these days to find an establishment that actually«listens» and cares about what patrons think. If you recall from my initial review, I liked Bludso’s. They always had the BESTBRISKET that I had been able to find since relocating back to the«A». Mind you, I’m a brisket lover, and I have been on a quest to find some that is just decent. Doesn’t really have to be great(I gave up on that), just CONSISTENTLY decent. I’ve been ALL over town(and Cobb County) looking and trying. I’ve spent a LOT of money, looking and trying. Have I been everywhere? No. Have I been to your favorite place? Probably. I dunno. Maybe not. If not, I’ll get there. There are still some places on my «to try» list. I must advise you, though– my trips searching have been dramatically reduced. Actually, I no longer burn gas, using my GPS, driving around searching. Bludso’s has IT. Hands down. Brisket is the BEST stuff you will EVER eat. Consistently. I stop in with a little frequency. Only reason I don’t visit more often is that one just can’t eat beef daily. Well, I could, but you get my drift… Service has improved, Mr. Owner Man must have been having an off day that first time I «met» him. He’s been on point ever since. I like the fact that he’s an owner who is present at his business, comes out and talks to patrons, and guess what– he’s actually the man behind the deliciousness that is the brisket! They’ve fixed the environment. You can dine in nicely now. Cool music playing for the right vibe. The impressive(imposing?) flat screen is still there, but I think it’s maybe for special events, which could turn out to be a good move. No distracted staff anymore. Courteous, polite, engaged, professional people, giving you a comfy dining experience whether you’re on your work lunch break with co-workers, in between classes, stopping in for a quick bite after work, or maybe doing a chill date night thing. Maybe you’re trying to get to know the neighborhood? Guess what? You can even get a cup of ice water now! I say all of that to say, you just have to support and appreciate a business that listens, and fixes the things that it thinks might help. You know I always hip you to Unilocal tips, so here they are: *********** The LUNCHSPECIAL: from 11 – 2:30, get the TWOMEAT lunch combo with TWO sides for something like $ 10(I forgot) — it’s SUPER reasonable. You will NOT be disappointed!!*********** *********** UnilocalTIP #2: Scoutmob has a 50% off special right now. BANG! That is a TREMENDOUS deal! That means that you can get the TWOMEAT combo ANYTIME for like $ 8.00. WHAT??! YOU need to be HERE. Don’t believe me? Read some of my many other reviews about BBQ places in Atlanta. I’ve been searching. The search is OVER. WINNER!

Good food. Great location. Even better customer servjce. Came here two days in a row and the ribs/brisket/mac and cheese are the best on the menu. Meat literally falls off the bone and the bbq sauce is delightfully messy. I definitely support.

My wife and I had lunch there today and thought the food was great. I had eaten there a couple of months ago and enjoyed the barbecued chicken. I again ordered the chicken, and my wife got the shredded pork. We weren’t disappointed. Unlike a recent reviewer, I found the chicken to be moist and perfectly seasoned. My wife has been underwhelmed by some of the local BBQ offerings, but she gave the pork high marks. Thumbs up on the mac & cheese, baked beans, and potato salad, too. If you dig BBQ, you should check this place out.

The ribs were exceptionally dry. They charged extra for bar-b-que and 1.25 for these extremely small sides. I really did not believe someone can mess of BBQ. There is way too much salt in the macaroni and ribs. Never again My friend got the chicken and she said it was dry and salty.

Being from Los Angeles, Bludso’s BBQ is a staple in the community! So with that said, I knew it was going to be a Homerun. The location is in the Castleberry Area of Atlanta, an area that’s on the rise within the city. They have a loft style restaurant so you can order at the bottom, and if you choose to stay and eat they have sitting at the top. Now let’s talking about the food. It was Super Bowl Sunday so I needed a platter for the guest I was having over. So I ordered Two Slabs of Ribs, along with a 1.5 pounds of Beef Brisket, and some smoked sausage. All of it was smoked to perfection and tender as hell. Everyone at the party was extremely happy and Bludso’s is now a staple in my BBQ diet!

Well, well well… There’s a new restaurant in town; downtown that is. It has the Great State of Texas proudly displayed underneath it’s not so catchy name of Bludso’s. Started in Cal-i-for-ni-a apparently. Hmm. I spent many a year in Tejas so I know a thing or two about BBQ pal. Can I get a witness? You know Fox Brothers is right down the street right? Fat Matt’s ring a bell? How about Sonny’s ?!(just kidding). You really think you can just bring your California based Texas BBQ into my hood? Hotlanta? Pleaze! Well…drum roll please… You pulled it(seamlessly, shamelessly, and artfully) off Bludso’s! Don’t come in here expecting a cool sit down place like Smoke Ring down the street. It’s not in the best area of Castleberry Hill and I’m not sure about the parking situation but don’t let that scare you away. Make no mistake, this place is mostly a takeout place still waiting for their liquor license. You know how long that takes in Georgia. There are still 6 or 7 small tables and some bar stools however. The«silverware» is actually«plasti-ware» and there is enough Styrofoam containers to send environmentalists into a shit fit. Seriously, I will pay an extra buck for your guys to serve my food in containers that will eventually decompose and aren’t made of filthy petroleum. I really feel that these are the best damn ribs east of Texas for sure! I tried both the beef(Texas style) and the pork(def NOTTX style) and once again, Pork rules! Pay the extra $ 1.50 to get the virtually boneless ribs. I actually got the sauce on the side and was glad I did because they were perfectly seasoned. The sauce is sweet, smoky and spicy so dip your meat in there every once in a while. I got four sides total and they were all very tasty. The Mac and Cheese looked a little stale but was cheezy and tasty luckily. The greens were superb and the beans were chocked full of meat. The servers were speedy and very friendly. Bottom line: if you have a hankering for«no frills BBQ» and want to take a walk on the wild side, visit Badass Bludso’s and be sure to thank me or rip me a new one on Unilocal

I’m familiar with Bludsoe’s because I’ve eaten at their spots in LA. I usually get their ribs but this time I wanted to try their brisket and chicken links. I got the 2 meat lunch combo and @ $ 10 wit 2 sides I think it is a good deal. It’s definitely enough for 2 people to share or have the rest later. The brisket was good but not the best, the chicken links were excellent they chopped em up and had em sittin in the sauce just how I like it. They are known for their ribs as they were showcased on the food network a while back. Definitely hit this spot, try something and leave a review.

A true Angeleño likes their bbq from 2 places, Texas or Korea. Not sure if Kevin and the team know anything about the latter but they have the Texas brand Down. Pat. Smokey sauce and meat. A lingering sweet heat. The lack of need for a fork(that I will use because I’m in public and polite). Sooooo close to the original. Will give them a minute to work out the minor kinks.
