This restaurant gets 5 stars in my book! I came here Saturday night to celebrate my birthday and received exceptional service and tasteful food! I was very pleased and will mostly likely return. For a appetizer I had the lobster bisque, which had a little taste of spice but just the perfect amount. It was made with the perfect twist. I also enjoyed the complimentary bread with it as well. For my entrée I ordered lobster and asparagus. I was extremely impressed and pleased with the taste of my food. I am a HUGE seafood fan and this by far was the best lobster I have tasted. The entrée’s are also served in large quantities, so you will most definitely get filled up. I ordered a glass of Riesling wine.(I do not remember the brand) but it was sweet complimented my meal well. For dessert I was given an ice cream cake, stuffed with rich chocolate, oreo crumbs and what tasted like a bit of mousse. It was delicious and I would definitely recommend trying it! I also had shortbread cookies to go, which turned out to be very good as well. This restaurant is a excellent date spot, it is nice, elegant, and the customer service is superb. On the flip side it is pricey, so it is wise to be prepared to pay for a bill over $ 150 if there is a party of 2. There is also a dress code. Although, I don’t recall seeing it online, but I do believe you cannot wear jeans, as I saw that no one in the restaurant had them on. There is also free valet parking, so the struggle of finding a parking space is not a hassle. Overall, this restaurant is a thumbs up in my book. If you have the money or don’t mind splurging on good, quality food, stop by and check this restaurant out.

After dining here two times, which were almost flawless, I want to say to anyone looking for a classic steakhouse to come here. With a traditional dark wood-décor, classic bar, and servers in jackets, Bones does not disappoint in service, food and atmosphere. The crab appetizer was perfection. The meat was tender, sweet, juicy and complemented so well by the smallest amount of creamy tartar sauce(or cocktail if you prefer). We also split a bowl of the lobster bisque, which had just the right amount of seafood, spice and cream. Next we both had filets, cooked perfectly, and shared two sides — grilled asparagus(yummy lemon and butter flavors) and the corn pudding. Not a speck was left of our entrees. Lastly we have had twice now — their staple of a dessert — the Mountain High pie. OHMYGOODNESS! I don’t even like ice cream that much, but this thing is layer upon layer of texture, flavors and all around delicious tower of sweet treat. And of course, paired with a cup of coffee, this was exactly the way to finish a perfect meal. As far as beverages are concerned, they make a fantastic martini and their wine list is quite complete. We had a bottle of red throughout the meal and it was just amazing. Thank you, Bones! We can’t wait to be back.

Best F’N steak this side of the Mississippi! Grab the Dry-aged, bone-in ribeye. Make sure your last will and testament is in place, because you can now die knowing you had the best.

Came to Bones for dinner and really enjoyed everything — service, food, etc. The only reason why I am 4 starring instead of 5 is because it is ab it too stuffy for my tastes. There’s a bunch of those stuffy, old money Buckhead restaurants, and this is definitely part of the mix. The mixed grill is on the 2013 Atlanta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau list so I had to try it! It comes with Filet Mignon, Lamb and Pheasant Sausage. My favorite of the three might be the lamb? The other two were really tasty as well. The best part about the dish is that you get to try a few different things. I haven’t really seen a ton of places of this caliber give you an option like that. Started with the lobster bisque. It might have been the best lobster bisque I’ve ever had. There are some pretty good sized chunks of lobster, and the soup is so creamy. I also had the corn pudding as a side, and the pecan pie. The pudding was pretty good, it’s nice and fluffy. I’ve had it where it’s either too runny, or too thick, but this was a really great version. I feel that it’s kind of hard to screw up a warm pecan pie, especially topped with praline sauce and vanilla ice cream, and Bones DEFINITELY didn’t screw it up.

This is absolutely great place ! Me and my husband had a birthday dinner there. As soon as we walked in we were greeted nicely and our table was ready with birthday confetti sprinkled over the table. Service was impeccable ! Servers know their menu very well and do their job just so professionally that you don’t get in every even respectful restaurant. They were quick and polite and even very funny :) They treated us like we are regulars, although it was our first time there. Food was just everything that I would’ve expected from a place like this. You can order same meal in different places, but they way they make it is definitely deserves some special appreciation. My husband ordered filet mignon(he loves meat) with sweet potato and broccoli, of course I tried his food too and everything was delish ! I was especially in love sweet potato. I ordered cod that came with purée and spinach. It was so yammie ! We got huge piece of ice-cream cake for desert without even ordering it. They just brought it with the candle. We were pleasantly surprised ! Thank you for making that evening very special for us ! Definitely coming back !

My bf and I decided to try something new, and I couldn’t be happier with our decision. The service was impeccable! The staff goes above and beyond to ensure their guests feel important. I highly recommend the shrimp cocktails appetizer. They are huge jumbo shrimp and so fresh! For my main dish I ordered the lamb with spinach and a baked potato with butter, cheese and bacon. All I can say is OMG! Hands down some of the best I’ve ever had. I have zero complaints! We enjoyed the drinks, appetizers and our main courses. Unfortunately we were too full for desert, but we will return and make room next time!

Quite possibly one of the best meals I’ve ever had dining out. Almost steered clear worried about $$$$. Glad we chose to dine here. Great atmosphere. Great staff. Knowledgeable, attentive and just plain great. We enjoyed an amazing dinner(on a Tuesday) and would recommend reservations if possible. If I were a local I would probably be a regular. Recommended.

Came for lunch because I figured dinner would break my bank. Service at lunch was still great and delicious. Had the fois gras and hot steak salad. Everything was on point, even the complimentary hot crusty bread and veggie plate! The interior is old school ambiance and dimness. It is a little bit of a boys club as it was mainly business groups at lunch. It wasn’t until I walked out to the bar section that I saw a couple gals having lunch there. Pricey for a lunch, but good food and service. Definitely a great business meeting place.

My hands down favorite steakhouse Ive ever been too. I was born down in Atlanta and travel down a few times a year to visit friends and for work and I tried this place the other day with my aunt. Wow. This is what a steakhouse should be like. From the moment you enter everything is pristine. They greet you and already know your name and address you by it as the host brings you to your table. The staff here is very knowledgeable and goes over the menu with you and answers any questions that you may have. I order a filet and we ordered a few sides and apps as well. The phrase«you could cut it with a fork» is truly applicable here. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and melted in my mouth. I cannot say enough good things about this place and will be returning on my next trip down to Atlanta!

After eating at dozens and dozens of steak houses in California and only finding ONE that took #1, I have found this place in Buckhead that ties #1(Forbes Mill in Danville, CA) and actually takes the #1 spot for their Seabreeze loaded back potato with thick smoked bacon, so smokey it tastes like it just came off the wood in the smoker. It’s crispy salted skin made this the ULTIMATE loaded backed potato. We started with the Wagyu carpaccio on a crisp that was fantastic. Next the Caesar Salad which came with the white anchovies(ding ding ding)…this scores big points for me. I can’t stand boney regular anchovies but the Spanish whites are what makes the flavor of a great Caesar. This was great. Perfectly dressed and while I am not a croutons fan, these were really great croutons. The ribeye, bone in was cooked a perfectly seared medium rare and was beautifully marbled without any excess fat. We also had the bone in filet which was a huge bone in.(See the photos) Sautéed mushrooms were incredibly tasty as was the sweet potato loaded with cinnamon butter and candied nuts. I picked out a 2011 Muga Reserve Rioja that paired perfectly with the meat. We killed that bottle! Dessert was their monster bones ice cream cake that could easily feed 4 people… we didn’t(couldn’t) finish it. You are going to drop some serious dough here but it is not any more expensive than other steak houses I have been at and certainly not for these quality cuts of meat. Everything is ala carte so it all adds up fast. Service was great and you will notice stars on the servers jackets. Each star = 5 years. Ours had 18 years and going. This place was packed for a Tuesday night including the bar. I would highly recommend this place. 5 stars.

I’ve been here a few times, spanning about 20 years. It’s still really good. For my most recent visit(last week), I went old-school: New York strip. My steak, as expected, was excellent. Cooked exactly to my liking(medium, with a hot, pink center), with nice texture on the outside, not quite crunchy, but textured, and seasoned so I needed to add nothing to enjoy it. Of course, they have a broad selection of red wines, served at the right temperature for a red.(They may have a nice selection of whites; but I would not know.) They have the classic, steak-house sides: spinach, grilled asparagus, several versions of potatoes, and some nice bacon mac & cheese that I like. Service is a mixed bag. Ancillary folks are great: valets, doormen, hosts, bus boys, etc. But our waiter did not show up to even take drink orders for 10 minutes. That is an eternity in any sit-down restaurant. Once he arrived, he was good, knew his stuff, was unobtrusive, but not stand-offish or too posh. We will chalk that one up to a rare miss??? Overall, this place is very good, but is just a touch off of the very best, which I think it was 20 years ago.

The ambiance is definitely of an upscale old school steakhouse and the staff exemplifies the ambiance with their professional serves, they’re very attentive to your satisfaction and dinning pleasure. My 22 oz. dry aged Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. Bones was an okay place for me. I went there for my bday dinner, around 630 pm. Even though there were not many people in the restaurant at the time, we still got okay service. The ambiance is nice, but the food was not that great. Maybe it was an off night for them, but I was not a fan.

This place is really really really good. First of all, I love the décor and ambiance of the restaurant. It’s really old school like dining at an exclusive club in the 60’s. The service is impeccable. Waiters seem to always keep an eye on you without hovering. Very impressive. We had the beef carpacio and octopus salad appetizers. Both were amazing. I may have liked the octopus a little more, but both were perfect. We ordered the bone in dry aged ribeye sliced for us. It was cooked perfectly(medium) but it wasn’t as flavorful as I would have liked or compared to home. I know that Bones is buying prime cut steaks, but the prime cuts I have gotten from Costco or Wholefoods seem to have been better marbled. The steak was the weakest part of the meal, but it was still good. They had the nice sear on the outside without overcooking the inside. Next time I might get a sauce. We had the hash browns with the steak. It doesn’t look like much from the pictures, but it was really good. The wine list is quite impressive and there were some good choices that could be ordered by the bottle. We saved some room for Pecan pie by not finishing out steak and potatoes. The pie was good, but not amazing. Highly recommend this steak house for everything, but keep your expectations down on the quality of the steak.

Astonishing service from this really delightful steakhouse. We got there a little before our booking so we got a drink in the pub. The bartender really asked for our booking name so we could transfer the check to the chief statement if we needed to(which we did). Upon seats we were given our menus to peruse. It did not look like a long time but the waiter came and apologized for the long delay and carried on to tell us the night’s specials(the scallops were thick and succulent, not fishy at all). The portions are undoubtedly well balanced, not too much and not too little. We finished with the Chocolate Truffle Cake which, not being a chocolate fan, was a fantastic finish to a fantastic dinner. I’d definitely return for more.

Service was excellent. The food was good but not extraordinary. The portions are small for the price that you pay. The atmosphere was quiet. It felt like being in a cigar lounge without the cigars. Overall the food was good and the desserts were extremely good. It’s a typical upscale steakhouse.

This place lived up to all the hype! Although it wasn’t pretentious, it felt like old money. The service was impeccable and the food and cocktails was spectacular. I had the filet mignon au poivre and wild mushroom risotto. The steak was cooked to perfection and the risotto was creamy and rich. Although it is a pricey place, it is nice to go as a treat. We were celebrating our anniversary and they had decorated our table with confetti and offered us either champagne or dessert on the house; we chose dessert. After our delicious meal they brought us a Bones special dessert which was a layered ice cream cake. We had a great evening. This may be my favourite steakhouse yet.

This restaurant is the type of place where you see primarily older people. It’s very expensive and the décor does not match the price of the menu. If I’m going to pay 250+ for a meal, I want the atmosphere to go with it. It’s more of a traditional old fashioned steak house vibe and it almost doesn’t matter if you aren’t that dressed up. The service was good. The food would have been five star quality however both of our steaks came out only warm rather than hot. To me, it is unacceptable to pay this type of price and get anything less than perfect. The sides are very large and can easily be shared. Beware if you don’t specify that you want small rather than large sides they automatically bring you large sides and don’t bother to inform you of that. All in all, I would have to say, I expected a whole lot more based on others reviews and I was semi-disappointed however will still give 4 stars.

There is a lot of hype about this place. I heard it from friends and when i got to the restaurant there it was again, all over the walls. The atmosphere was good not great. I was expecting something a little more lavish and up to date. We arrived and the frenetic maitre d took our name and then we waited with the rest of the crowd for a few minutes for the waitstaff to catch up. We were seated downstairs. Server was very good, attentive. Great wine list. My wife had the filet and I had the bone-in rib eye. We also had the lobster bisque. The bisque was excellent. The 2 steaks were also very good. I guess, my rating is 3 stars because for the price(which was quite high) and the hype, i’d expect something exceptional. Don’t get me wrong, the steak was very good. But it was on par with other great steaks i’ve had from other steakhouses for much less. I loved the wine we picked and although we got a bottle there are lots of wines by the glass that you can select from with varying prices.

I eat out a lot, I’m fat, I travel in abundance and I’m a businessman. This was one of the best dining experiences of my life, top notch from start to finish. The food was amazing, the experience was even better — we had Derek as a server and he knows what he’s doing. I will be back and quite honestly, I can’t wait. The wagyu a5 was incredible, the corn pudding was orgasmic and the bone in aged ribeye put me over the edge. If you’re in Atlanta and you’re looking for an incredible cut of beef coupled with an unparalleled dining experience, come here. You can thank me in the morning.

This establishment was recommended to us by several people when asked«what is the best steakhouse in Atlanta?» We had some friends from back home visiting who live a great steak. Upon arrival the place was very inviting and a very nice couple was very glad to hear hat it was our first time there and raved about the food. The atmosphere/décor on the upper level was ok as they are I’m sure trying to stay true to their original décor. We were then taken to the lower level where the décor continued but got even more gaudy. Felt like we were in our grandfathers den where the wall paper and heavy curtains were made out of the same choking material. The food was only marginal in our opinion. While the steaks we ordered were on point the sides were not what you would expect for an ala carte menus at the most expensive house in town. The dry aged ribeye was tough and charred. The wait staff was very kind but a bit slow and did not care for the outfits they had to wear.

Oh yes, this is truly a five star restaurant! I have been here a few times and it has never been a disappointment to me or anyone else that I have taken or been here with. I will be honest I don’t like this as much as I like Peter Luger’s or Vic & Anthony’s but this place is almost as good as it gets, and is very deserving of the five stars that I gave it. Some people may pay complain about the price, but you get what you pay for IMHO and when the steaks are this good it is worth every penny. As far as steaks go, I have always gotten the rib eye when I have went here, I know that other people switch it up but for me a good steak is always a rib eye. I have had both the bone in and the dry aged rib eye and I prefer the dry aged with Foie Gras it is decadent. The only knock here is the Crab cakes, they are excellent but not that excellent. The Lobster Bisque is amazing. For a side I usually get the Corn Pudding, but the Truffle Butter Mashed is also very good. I also like that they are very blunt about asking you to limit your cell phone usage, I personally can’t stand it when people are on their phones at a table next to you.

Dining at Bones is a great experience. It’s more casual than I expected, which I like. You walk in to a small, unassuming bar. We wanted to have a drink before dinner, and they have the magical ability to transfer bar tabs to your actual table tab. This is the restaurant equivalent of splitting the atom in my opinion. 99% of restaurants will not do that for you. So obviously, this place excels at service. Dress code is definitely not business casual as stated on their website, it’s «smart» casual which means you can wear your fancy jeans — don’t worry. Service was fantastic, of course, and the waiters are true, seasoned professionals that have been doing this for a long time. Décor in the main area is very old New York or Chicago steakhouse style, with framed pictures acting as wallpaper. We arrived to our table to find some party decorations(it was our fifth wedding anniversary) and we were not alone — it seemed the entire row was there for a special occasion of some sort. It was a busy Friday night, but we were provided a table of four for our two-person party: A very nice touch. I wouldn’t say it’s the best steak I’ve ever had, award goes to the Kobe Cap steak at Grill 23 in Boston. But it was very, very good and my wife loved her lobster tail. I had the mixed grill which includes a filet, a couple of lamb chops and a pheasant sausage. Pheasant sausage was actually a highlight of the meal! We got the mac and cheese and creamed corn for sides, both delicious. The mac and cheese was amazing, probably helped out by the fried onion strips on top. Wine list is extensive, diverse and expensive. You can dip as low as low-thirties for a bottle here, but you’re at Bones: just go ahead and splurge and get whatever you want. You could actually come here and go «on the cheap»(like around $ 100 pp) and leave happy. But if you’re coming here for a special occasion for two, with drinks and wine, you’re going to be pushing past $ 300 with tip. Enjoy it, though — you’ll have fun!

Tried it for lunch and had a great experience — went for the burgers that were voted number 1 on Atlanta. Not sure we agree that they are the best but they were good. Bones Is my favorite kind of steakhouse dark, filled with regulars and bartenders armed with know-how and great jokes. No one had steak this go round. I started with the French Onion soup. There is nothing I love more than a proper French Onion and this was proper. There’s a lobster bisque I’m going back for. I had the seared scallops and mushroom risotto. They were perfectly seared. The only ding came from one of them not being washed properly, I could have done with out the free grits of sand. The risotto was really good. We ended the meal with a slice of birthday ice cream cake. This and all of its 5 or 6 layers of glory was just, oh my goodness. Delicious. Definitely going back for the Steak.

I came to this place because somebody from Atlanta said that this is the best place in town for steakhouse … I do not think so! I could not take any pictures, because of certain reasons, but I think that the prices were TOO high for the food we had and it was not an exceptional experience that I would had said: UAHOO! Anyway, good food, but not worth the price.

Cheese options: cheddar, swiss, bleu cheese Other additions: thick Applewood bacon, mushrooms Ketchup and Mayo on the side L.O.T.P. with 3 fluffy-battered onions rings or sub with fast fry version french fries Juicy, thick. The service alone gets 5 stars! Everyone was polite, cheerful, helpful, and just the finest waiters, bar tenders, and maître d’ I’ve ever had the pleasure of encountering. I’d been to Bones several years ago, but this experience is not one I’ll soon forget. We showed up 45 minutes early for our 7:15PM reservation, but we weren’t able to get in early which makes sense. Instead, we sat in a nice corner with two nice chairs, a table, and a couch for a party of 4. The bartender took our drink orders and brought us the best cheese circles I’ve ever had. When 7:10 rolled around the maître d’ went to the bar to inform the bartender that had just reordered our drinks to take them to our table, and then he came to us and seated us in their downstairs dining area. From there the service continued to get better and better. Our waiter had a good sense of humor, was extremely knowledgeable, and was ever attentive. Every time he came by our table he poured the bottle of wine my dad was splitting with my husband into their glasses. I ordered the lobster bisque and their bone-in rib eye because I knew there was no way I was going to finish a lobster tail and a steak. The size and amount of lobster pieces in the bisque was astounding. I don’t know how I’ll be able to order lobster bisque from another restaurant. The bisque was creamy and thick but not too heavy. Their bones salad with pistachios, blue cheese crumbles, Boston bibb lettuce, and a raspberry vinaigrette is so refreshing and lite. The vinaigrette is not too sweet and over powering. Everything completed each other perfectly. Along with the perfectly cooked medium-rare bone-in rib eye, I split the truffle butter mashed potatoes, grilled asparagus, and sauteed spinach with three other people. The rib eye had a beautiful char on it and was so tender. The truffle butter mashed potatoes were not heavy and paired well. You could taste the grill with every bite of the asparagus, and the sauteed spinach was equally as good as everything else. When we sat down they asked who the Georgia Tech grad was since my father was still wearing the«Proud Parent» button from the graduation ceremony a couple hours earlier. We let them know it was me, and they said congratulations and that many other folks dining their that night were also Georgia Tech graduates coming to celebrate. Why do I mention this? After dining they brought every table with a Georgia Tech grad a custom take-home menu with Buzz and«Congratulations Graduate» on the front of it and a piece of their Mountain High Pie. An extreme classy, beautiful, delicious, and solid 5-star restaurant [experience]. Whenever you have a big, big celebration, I would highly recommend celebrating it at Bones.
