So many neat little businesses around here, whether you’re looking to do some old fashioned antiquing or browsing, or if you’re looking for something in particular like furniture, gemstones, or books. This place also encompasses a variety of restaurants and shops as well. I guess it could be called the Chamblee Square or Downtown Chamblee? It’s the type of place you’d go on a clear afternoon to eat, shop, and browse around the myriad of little shops. I came here during the Taste of Chamblee Fest, which took place in the middle of the square and it was really fun. There was the perfect amount of people here; not too many and not too few. I think I’ll definitely be back here to browse around sometime soon, especially if I don’t have to deal with homeless people and a lack of parking, and Chamblee seems like that kind of place.(Thankfully.) Great area to look for unique items, but overpriced compared to other consignment/antique stores in other areas.

What a fun area! In my quest to shop local, I decided to head to Antique Row, and I loved it. Some of the stores reminded me of walking into a convenience store in NYC — stuff from the floor to ceiling, tucked in corners, etc. I can see how people get into antiquing, because I honestly think you could go into ONE of these stores for 8 hours a day, every day for a week, and still not see everything that’s in there. One of them in particular — I walked through a doorway expecting to be in a small back room, but I ended up in basically a WAREHOUSE that was still piled wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling with items. Granted, a lot of it’s crap, and some of it’s REALLY expensive — but if you look long enough, I guarantee you’ll find something you like. This’ll be my new way to kill time on the weekends, when I can’t think of anything else to do, or when the weather’s bad. But like Jenn said — get here early! Their hours are somewhat limited.

I always have a great time wandering around Chamblee Antiques Row. Parking is abundant and there are lots of quality antique and thrift shops that you can easily walk to. There are a couple(like Biggar Antiques) that are just down the road, so don’t forget those treasures. if you get hungry or thirsty there’s a tea shop, the frosty caboose(snacks and coffee!), and a pizza place nearby. Get here early though. Shops close at 5pm on Saturday!

I’m in love with this little area! Pretend you’re a pirate looking for some booty. Would you look in a single shop surrounded by nothing else of interest or would you take a tour of an entire street full of buried treasure? … I thought so. Antique Row has a number of antique, consignment, and thrift shops to look in. Some shops are extremely packed in and full of more stuff than your grandmother’s attic while others have a more minimalistic approach. Either way, if you’re looking for it, it’s bound to be here somewhere. Even if you’re not looking for it — I’m talking to you, old schoolhouse desk or old bellow coffee table — it’s here and you’ll want it more than what you originally came here for. Prices range from extremely affordable to, well, what you’d expect antiques to run, so it’s safe for any size wallet. The best part is that nearly every shop is mere feet from another, so once you park you just wander around the nicely sidewalked streets in search of that perfect item for your home or just to have a look back at yesteryear. Good luck on your treasure hunt; X certainly marks the spot here.
