I stopped here this evening on my way home from work to fill gas in my car. After filling the tank with $ 39.84 worth of gas, I drive off only to look down at my dash and see I am still out of gas. I immediately go back to the gas station and let the owner know what happened and he refused to reimburse me for the tank of air I paid for. He says my gas meter and sensors are broken(in my gently used Audi that has always had a perfectly functioning gas meter). He even tried to stick a ruler down my tank to measure the amount of gas inside the tank; at that point I just left and called my credit card company and they are declining the transaction. After how rudely and dismissively I was treated, I will never be coming back here. Be warned, if you purchase gas here, bring a measuring device to prove that the gas you paid for never came out. I’m not sure if they have the stations rigged to run up the gallons and $‘s and not dispense gas or it was just a defect.

I was just at this gas station but I didn’t go inside. I simply purchased gas. I was surprised to see what looks like a $ 100 credit card hold for a purchase that cost about half that. I think that is exorbitant. The pump is also really slow.

Gas up, late night. Not even that sketchy.

The new digs are definitely worth an extra star. If you like beer and live in the hood, Chevron may be your new best friend. The prices are reasonable(not Kroger on sale prices, but certainly not expensive) and their selection is insane. Like, closer to Hop City than your average grocery store kind of insane. They’ve got a huge walk-in cooler in the back corner that stocks an impressive array of both domestics and imports, as well as a growler station that, on my visit, had about 5 taps available, mostly local product. Looked like they had a better than average wine selection, as well. Plus, the purveyor is SUPER friendly and will special order stuff if you ask. But boo to only having a Pepsi fountain, no fountain Coke. I’ll keep going to the BP down the street for my fix. And I still wouldn’t come here solo late night, if you were curious.

Just went by here on my way to get a Scoutmob friendly Taco place. First, I think I’ve been here before and the place looked totally different. Today when I swung through for Gas and a Bottle of water, the place had been extended. The entire building has been torn down and rebuilt. The exterior of the store is bright and feels very safe. The inside is new and hip. Very spacious with a ton of selection. Staff was friendly and prompt. Water was ice cold the way it usually is at a quick trip of some sort. I didn’t get a chance to go in the bathroom, but by looking at the rest of the place i’m assuming it is clean. Def worth going if you need gas or something ice cold to drink!(I’m also assuming the beer is as cold as the water!)

Me and a friend were browsing in the store for a bottle of wine and after picking up a bottle to look at it, a different bottle(that neither of us touched) fell off the shelf and opened, didn’t break, causing a small amount of the wine to leak out of the bottle. At this point the employees claimed that we had to buy the bottle that fell and threatened to call the police if we didnt buy it so after a lot of arguing on both sides they agreed to drop the price of the bottle down to $ 10 from $ 14 at which point we agreed to buy it simply to end the confrontation. This was not a bottle of wine that we wanted to buy and we both felt like we had been bullied into buying it. I am frequent customer of this establishment and have never before had a bad experience there but tonight was terrible and I’m not sure if I ever want to go there again.

Alright, anyone who is familiar with midtown should know the L5P Chevron and the craziness that occurs there minute-by-minute. When I had a day job I went there every morning to say hello to the lady who works the morning shift, and buy a cheap red bull. But, afternoons and evenings I steer clear. Why, you might ask? Well, it’s not the bums that put me off, I can deal with them, but it’s the fact that every time I go there after noon someone rear-ends my car. Yeah, it’s happened 3 out of 5 trips up to this gas station. After the second hit-and-run I stopped going there altogether. But the other day I was running late for the drive-in so I stopped to buy refreshments there. Suddenly a woman came running in, shouting, «Whoever has a black Civic in here best come out! You been hit!» I KNOW it was me. So I dash out to find a guy cracked out of his mind on God knows what trying to back out. My feisty little self gets pissy and starts yelling at him. He gets out of the car and is obviously so high his eyes are rolling back in his head while he is speaking to me. A neighborhood homeless hippie Vet comes out of the bush and says, «This dude was so messed up I watched him careen into the parking lot– he wasn’t even paying attention to where he was going!» So I am furious– the dude says he just got out of prison, has no car insurance, etc. Offers my boyfriend drugs. It was a fiasco. Thank God he only put a scratch in my bumper or there would have been a fight. So, I don’t think I will ever go there again, not even to buy the cheapest red bulls around, or to say hi to my lady. I am sticking with Buddy’s!
