First of all, call your insurance company or tow insurance company first before embarking on hiring a locksmith for keys locked inside your car. I have found out the hard way, It is a big racquet, at least here in Atlanta. After one locksmith was a no show, a couple refused to service area around Turner Field, 2 or 3 never followed up with a phone call from technician, I finally thought I had found a credible company in Colony Square Locksmith – WRONG! Most all quoted $ 19 – 39 service charge plus labor of $ 30 «and up depending on how complicated» but guess what? No one unlocks a car for $ 30. Lo and behold, after receiving the confirmation call from the Colony Square technician who said he would be there within 15 – 20 minutes, he arrived as stated in an unmarked minivan and promptly quoted me $ 155 to unlock my car. He literally got out of the van walked over to my car and looked inside the window. I balked, and stated I was quoted basic unlocks start at $ 30-what was so complicated about my car? He laughed and stated, no one would unlock this car for that amount«that’s how much an infinity M35 is to unlock». Well then, why would they not quote the price based on make and model over the phone? Like I said – it’s a scam! After dealing with this for 2 hours, I relinquished and let the guy do it which literally took 2 minutes! I intend to report to the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs. The locksmith industry in Atlanta needs a shake down in order weed out these unsavory proprietors.
