First time back to Cosmolava in awhile and brought a group of non-nightclub goers… and they had a blast! Adore the chill feeling, diverse mix of DJs, and dance floor. The bartenders do not water down your drinks and they’re super friendly!(Thank you Waylon) :) Will be back again for sure!

I am sorry to give this place such a low rating, because there is so much potential. It got an automatic 2 star deduction when I saw several people smoking inside the club IT’S 2016, WHERETHEYDOTHATAT? Here apparently. The music was pretty good though, I was able to the beat. I would suggest avoid wearing heels because of the slants and slopes to get to the club from the parking lot, although I was rocking my heels. You do have to pay for parking, but we came across a guy that let us pay $ 5, which was a steal compared to other places. The crowd appeared to be mid twenties to mid thirties. I would try going to another club(there are many nearby, walking distance).

Private party eliminated a floor. $ 10 cover. DJ was meh. You can smoke inside, pos or neg depending on your preference. Drinks were straight. Would not recommend or come back.

This place is bumpin on the weekends! Don’t let these reviews deter you. This place is epic– it looks like a house from outside and has 4 bars/dance floors! And they showed the USC homecoming game, so they get an A+ in my book

Decided to go here at the last minute last night with some friends. The have a rsvp list so you can get in free before midnight of you are on the list by 9. My friends and I got on the list but didn’t get there until later. There was only a few people in line which was great cause it was cold, so we were in quickly. The inside was set up really nice. There is a bar and spacious dance floor. On a patio the is an outside bar and very spacious area. Upstairs there is another bar and a smaller dance floor, but it still had plenty of room. I tried a cosmo at the bar which was watered down. My friends kept getting drinks but were saying the same thing. The dj would play songs you couldn’t dance to and sometimes there were even pauses in between songs. I can’t hold that against the lounge though cause he was just there for Friday. The dj did play Thriller which was awesome since it’s Halloween weekend. The atmosphere here was so awesome. All and all I had a great time and would definitely go back.

This lounge is definitely not for the Grown and Sexy crowd! If you grew up in the age of Justin Bieber this might your hang out place! The website pictures look really Luxe!!! But when there I was not sure this was even the same place! I went through every room to see if any of it looked the same! Maybe when it’s empty and with the lighting maybe ??? After the walk through and seeing one young girl with drink in one hand and jumping dancing on one of the bench seats we left!

I convinced a group of us to come here because of the great reviews since we are out of town but to be honest it wasn’t our type of scene. We went on a Friday night at midnight and it was pretty much empty downstairs and main floor. Upstairs had more people of a much older crowd and the DJ seemed to only play songs from 2005 nothing recent and some slower tempo songs you can barely dance to. We stay for an hour to see if it would pick up and it really didn’t, so we ended up leaving. The pros, the layout was nice, the drinks were good and they have a nice outside space.

I’m not a club/dance kind of man. I enjoy shooting pool and listening to live music. That being said… Cosmo Lava was FANTASTIC. Went there on a Saturday night, it wasn’t uncomfortably crowded, and the drinks were reasonably priced. What really impressed me was the staff. The bartender downstairs was really prompt, professional, and(unlike most bartenders in my experience) she seemed to genuinely enjoy her job. She was the only one running the bar(it wasn’t a large bar, but she managed a big crowd without a hitch). The DJ in the basement was decent. The music wasn’t my style but it wasn’t polarizing; I still enjoyed the atmosphere. Even the manager was approachable and nice. TL;DR: Definitely worth checking out.

I always have a good time at Cosmo Lava. I like that there are so many different areas with different types of music. Whenever I get tired of one type of music, I can just walk over to the next room! It’s also never empty or ridiculously crowded. I can always find a place to sit if my feet get tired. They also have pretty good electronic DJs that play in the basement as well. Keep in mind that if you are going for the DJ, the basement is a difference entrance. I accidentally took the wrong entrance the first time; however, they were able to just let me pay the difference of the two covers and were very nice about it. I highly recommend Cosmo Lava if you are looking for a fun club to go to in Midtown!

This place was really cool! There were multiple areas, so if you were over a song then you could just move on. But the music in pretty much all areas was on point(Top 40s, Hip hop, etc.). The crowd was young and really fun. Places like this one are the reason why I love Atlanta. Can’t nobody party like they do in this city.

Very cheesy place. The idea is cool, and nice layout. but infested with college students. Pay at the door type place.

Went here with the girls… The dress code wasn’t that strict as people inside dressed pretty causally, but I guess it’s because this place was more of a bar than a club. This place has many areas to wander through. From what I can tell, there were 3 distinct areas. There was the first bar area when you first enter. There were some mini booths and high table tops here. The next area had some tables and chairs with the same bar strip but on the other side of the wall. The last area could have been another bar area that’s more dimly lit. I am unsure because we didn’t make it through here since there was a mini line that formed just as we hit the top of the stairs. There was also a mini porch area if you want to take a breather and cool down outside. It can be accessed through the first area. Parking was available directly behind the building for a whopping $ 15. The cover charge for this past Saturday night was $ 5.

I’m not a club kinda girl. However, I seem to end up here for any of the party holidays such as Halloween or NYE. Booze: They have full selection of booze. They don’t skimp on the pour. Service: Bartenders are fast and nice. Scene: Diverse crowd. They play good music. Not elbow to elbow crowded. This place is tons better than Opera in my opinion. So since this is right by my house I will be back — NYE.

Cosmo Lava Lounge is awesome in that it has just about anything for everyone. With 4 different«floors» so to speak, including a grimy basement filled with creepers, outdoor bar with modern hits(though it’s really more for chatting), upper dance floor with dance-y pop and upper lounge to chill and talk, you will undoubtedly find something you like. However, that being said, the crowd is very hit or miss. But with a $ 5 cover, moderately priced drinks(6 – 8) and numerous floors, you’re bound to have a good time!

Loved it here. Three different levels to choose from. Me and my posse went during their Halloween event, it was spectacular. This club separates from the others on the road because they have outdoor deck/seating for when you need to get the ringing out of your ears from music and people. We got here at 10pm… think we were too early to enter. But no line at the time! The crowd started to pick up around 12am with dancing and things. Drinks were great! The first bartender we flocked to was in the front of Cosmo. I couldn’t decide what to get so he just recommend ‘sex on the beach’. That was really yummy! Just the perfect amount of alcohol mixed in. There were different music on each levels playing so I thought that was pretty cool. It just depends on what you like. It got really crowded around 2am, so the party was still hoppin. Ladies(and men sometimes) can get in for free if you like RSVPATL on FB or Twitter. Special promotions for the weekends. I will definitely come back here again. possibly for Halloween ;)

Two things are guaranteed to happen if you enter the volcano that is Cosmo Lava: 1.) You will have a good time and 2.) You will spend too much money. That’s just the truth. So. Yea. I’ve always enjoyed my excursions and got my dance and groove on. However, I perpetually feel stolen from upon next morning remittance: was my night worth near $ 100 dollars? Compared to the(professional) women I sometimes swipe right on(but never call) on Tinder: the answer is NO. Get your market straight, Cosmo. I’ll see you soon. And to the(professional) women on tinder: thanks for preventing the world from ending.

I’m not a lounge club going kind of girl. But I humored my friend one evening and went to Cosmo-Lava one recent Friday evening after going to an art event down the street. PRICE: Free — $ 10, I assume its about $ 5 on average. Um, can someone say awesome! You have to just support these type of venues and go from time to time just because they’re awesome enough to have a good cover. AMBIENCE/SETUP: Very chill and laid back. It’s a place that becomes whatever you personally make it. They have good music and several dance floors. Like others have stated, this place is huge, I mean it keeps going and going and going. Cosmopolitan and Lava lounge are connected, so whichever one you enter you can go into the next. Cosmo has the entrance area with bar, then a space in the middle with two bars and a small outdoor area, then you can travel around the corner and across the way into Lava. The middle part is the most live from what I remember, folks were dancing in here it was more clubbish. We then made our way downstairs to another section it was pretty hype, or wait, hmm I’ve kinda confused myself because there was also a section, I think the basement of Lava that was completely dead, but if you want some private space then it would be the place in the club to be. CROWD: Very diverse aka there was a rep from each racial group, lol. No, but seriously the crowd was mixed in regards to age and race, if I had to do a median age I’d say mostly 20s and 30s(asians, indians, whites, blacks, etc). There were folks there with their pharmacy school friends, a bachelorette party, dudes flying solo, couples having a night out, people just networking, girls night, guys night, etc etc. To me this place is about having fun. I see it as the perfect spot to go if you are with a group of friends and wanna just have a nice space to party in. They definitely have the space and good music to match. I don’t remember seeing the DJ, I was kinda wasted and not looking for him either. SERVICE: Service was decent, depending on which bar you go to the drinks are watered down. I think the drinks in Cosmo are more watered than the drinks in Lava. I loved the attendant outside the restroom– awesome setup. Thanks for the lollipop. Be sure to tip him a dollar or so if you can.

I can’t believe I forgot to write a review about CosmoLava. I found myself here a few months ago for the Atlanta Bartenders Ball. We got there around 8 and I was impressed at how gigantic the place was. The bartenders were all really awesome and Tonya at the front bar was the absolute best! I had Way too much to drink(as I was nominee of the night) I was handed shot after shot of Deep Eddy(which I endorse endlessly). I wish I had explored the whole place a bit more but it had from what I saw well over 4 fully stocked bars and two different areas for a DJ. The DJ spinning that night was in an elevated loft location and it was cool that the crowd was down below. Tonya let me keep my jacket behind the bar thank goodness as my only negative of the entire restaurant is the serious need for a coat check. Seriously. Loved it! Had a blast! Definitely didn’t drive. I wish I could find a way to check this place out on a Friday or Saturday but hey-those are the nights I pay bills. A girl can dream, dear

Been here several times for friends’ birthdays — such was the case last night. I’m not a huge fan of the lounge, but with the free-before-11 incentive, coupled with the occasion we were asked to come out, we made the best of the situation. We arrived a few minutes before 11PM, but we didn’t actually make it to the door until about 11:15 due to processing of the guest list. Fortunately, the fellas made note of who actually came before the cutoff time and honored the free entry. Kudos to that! There are about five different atmospheres /four different floors between Cosmo + Lava Lounge, each with a different feel and type of music playing. I personally prefer the red Chinese lantern room(or that’s what I called it when my friend and I were trying to find each other). It’s quieter, more laid back, and it’s not as densely populated. For music and dancing, I recommend the uppermost room, as the DJs there usually play today’s hits/hip hop music. I’m sure most people have the same idea, since that room gets insanely packed out. This time, I noticed they have a coat check. Good option to have when it’s cold out but don’t want to carry your jacket everywhere you go. Not sure how much it was, since I didn’t utilize this. Cost for a decent night out: $ 8 weak ass drinks, mostly filled with ice cubes Free Budweiser Black Crown thanks to promo girls $ 10 parking right across the street Not too shabby for $ 20 and the company made it well worth it!

This is my first review over a «straight» establishment, although I am not sure how«straight» a place called«Cosmopolitan Lounge» can be. So to start off, I am spoiled by gay bars. Can we all just be real? Gay bars have more upbeat energy and the music is just better all around. That being said, this place is probably the closest«straight» establishment I’ve been to that has good music and good overall energy. Now this could be due to a couple of reasons. The first reason being that this place is located in midtown and the second reason being that the word Cosmopolitan is in it’s name. The drinks here are a good price. I ordered a round of drinks for my table of 4 and it only cost $ 25 bucks. Not too bad. There are a lot of girls here in dresses. Once again, Cosmopolitan is in it’s name. So why am I giving this place 4 stars? Well the people upfront gave me and my boyfriend a hard time about our I.D.‘s. They gave him a hard time especially because his hair color was different, which was bothersome. Do people not know that I’m dating a celebrity? This is a big red flag that a lot of minors probably sneak in here, or so I would think. All in all, I wouldn’t mind coming back to «Cosmopolitan Lounge.» Good job for making a straight establishment fun!
