Cowlicks

I think this place is now closed. I searched the plaza carefully. There is one spot that’s papered over — that was probably it. :-(

This place is awesome… they have great seasonal fro yo flavors. Pumpkin spice rocks this month!

Cowlicks is a latecomer to the Atlanta froyo market. Cowlicks looks like your typical self serve froyo place. They have a ton of flavors, a ton of toppings, and charge you by the ounce.
I sampled a few of their flavors and they tasted pretty good. They have a lot more non-​tart flavors than tart. So if you’re fan of tarty froyo, you’ll be disappointed. But if you like the desserty, non-​tart froyo, this place is a decent place to go.
One thing I love about Cowlicks is they offer froyo floats. It works the same way as regular froyo. They have float cups and just combine your froyo with the soda. They have example recipes like Dr. Pepper with Strawberry froyo, Chocolate with Root Beer, and so on. I love floats, so this is a good gimmick to distinguish themselves from the 1000’s of other froyo places in Atlanta.
The froyo came out creamy. Reading the other reviews, I guess it does come out a bit melted, but I rather have creamy froyo than icy ones. However, I got a float so I don’t know if the yogurt melted fast or not.
When I walked in, it looked empty. An employee popped out to greet me and tell me how this worked and disappeared again. When I finished making my yogurt, he popped out so I can pay. That seemed odd to me. But hey, if business is slow, I probably will do this too – maybe have CoD playing in the back. He seemed friendly though. However, I was disappointed he didn’t ask for my number. Maybe I wasn’t hot enough like Kate B.

Pretty good, nothing stood out though to make them a cut above the rest. Also, the yogurt was melting very fast. I don’t think it’s cold enough. If I have a coupon then I will stop back in, but I won’t be going out of my way. Also, when I walked in, no one was around to help me.

GREAT concept — HORRIBLE execution. Yogurt is all runny and melted even before you get to the toppings table. Toppings look stale and disgusting — and don’t taste much better. Love the hot fudge option — but on the already melting yogurt, it makes your yogurt turn into soup. Staff not terribly interested in visitors, either — even on a Friday evening. My helpful staffer came out chewing on something, took my money and went back into the back room. Not sure what was so important back there. Maybe she was turning down the temperature on those awful frozen yogurt machines. Also — YUK on the ‘no fat’ options! They taste terrible, even as soup.

I like self-​serve! It’s great to control exactly how much you get of everything, not only for personal tastes, but for those of us trying to watch what we eat! The yogurt is great. I used to frequent this place more often when I lived in the area, but we stopped by tonight as a treat. I was a little disappointed in the toppings — they weren’t labeled and the fruit was a little off (not really acceptable being that it’s peak berry season!).
I still would go to Cowlick’s over Pinkberry any day!

I am sorry to hear that some ladies have been put off by the guy behind the counter taking your money for the yogurt. My fiancé and I have come here 4 – 5 times over the past couple months and enjoyed it each time! We originally stopped by because of a coupon/​groupon which looks to still be available at

I must say I definitely felt I got more value for my money here at cowlicks and was happy as a clam to find some yogurt flavors that tasted delicious, maybe not as healthy for you but delicious. So in recap you can get some healthy yogurt here (like my fiancé does) and for us other folks that like yogurt to be more along the lines of soft serve ice cream then they have you covered as well.
PS: They also have hot fudge topping as well which is nice in the cooler weather!

So I stopped by Cowlicks last week after a friend recommended that I give it a shot. As a fro-​yo enthusiast, I decided to make the trek to Vinings to see what the fuss was all about. Although I usually don’t take the time to write a review for anything but bad experiences, I was really impressed with the customer service and awesome yogurt I received. I will definitely be returning and here’s why:
–To start, I was instantly greeted by the manager who was both genuinely friendly and helpful! I was able to sample everything and was even turned onto some new fruit toppings I had never tried before. It was perfect customer service and in no way did I feel the so called creepy vibe as previously mentioned below.
–Secondly, it seems to be such a great place for kids! The décor is really fun and the staff seems to make a trip to the yogurt shop truly an experience for the little ones. I nanny frequently and plan on taking the kids to Cowlicks very soon!
–Third, they have such great rewards programs! I’m all about the frequent punch cards and thought it was really neat they offered a free yogurt for dad’s on Father’s Day.
Although Vinings is a little of my way to say the least, it’s more than worth the trip. Fingers crossed for more stores to open in the Atlanta area! :)

I was home hanging out when my fiancé called to tell me they were having their grand opening. I have been obsessed with fro-​yo as of late, so I jumped at the opportunity for free fro-​yo. A man who identified himself as the manager was there to assist my every possible need. Er, a little too friendly to the point of me wondering, «hey are you hitting on me?» Anyways, I sample the different flavors, decide on cake batter, original, and a wee bit of vanilla and some toppings. It was free for the grand opening, but would’ve been cheaper than my fro-​yo typically is at Pinkberry or Frutopia. The best part about this fro-​yo was it was absolutely delicious!
I came back here for dinner the other night with my fiancé. The manager was there again, and was yet again creepy. My fiancé was like, um that guy was awfully friendly to you-​and just you. All three stars go to the delicious fro-​yo and no more. The interior is kinda tacky, and the guy who calls himself the manager is creepy.

Decided to try despite the totally tacky interior. One of the male employees approached my girlfriend and I and was helpful at first, offering us sample cups, but then starting asking if we wanted to come to a pool party he was throwing for his employees at his apartment. We kind of ignored that, but then he started asking for my phone number. When I said no, he looked at me like I was crazy and then asked my friend if he could get her number. It was mega-​uncomfortable and I will not be going back.
Yogurt was decent, nothing special and maybe a touch more expensive than other stores. If you like your yogurt with topped with harassment, this is the yogurt place for you! If not, exit the parking lot, pick any direction and drive half a mile. You’re bound to hit a better yogurt shop.
(Side note, I assumed that since they had floats there would be real ice cream as well, but they’re frozen yogurt floats.)

Cowlicks recently became one of the million of yogurt establishments in the Atlanta area. Decided to stop by and give it a try seeing as how our other two options are Yoforia (always packed) and PinkBerry (over priced). The staff here was really friendly and that was definitely appreciated; they showed each customer what the deal was with serve yourself yogurt as well as how to create your own float with a soda stand near by. The interior of the store wasn’t like other yogurt stores in that it was kinda tacky and didn’t have that fancy yogurt store design.
Their was a decent variety of yogurt flavors, but not all were low-​fat, a good way to justify eating froyo daily. I ended up choosing 3 flavors: strawberry, island banana, and vanilla. The vanilla and strawberry were pretty good, but the island banana had that gross fake banana taste to it. Of the yogurt shops I’ve been to, I don’t think I’ll be returning to this place.
