I ran into the food trunk of Crêpe Sueztte by Knopfler(Very French, right?) Family at Dunwoody Food Truck Thursdays, my order was recommended by Grandpa Knopfler himself(he sat at the window as the cashier =) — the sausage crêpe(savory) — $ 10, it was A MUSTTRY!!! It could be a good portion for a girl’s dinner dish. I’ve had a few crepes when traveling in Paris, crepes to French are just like hot dogs to Americans, tones of different flavors and interesting seasonings. Knopflers did a great job on the crêpe — the basic, after one bite, you gonna realize the differences — fluffy yet very plush melting in your mouth. I saw the industrious and courageous three generations running this great business. Would love to try more of their items(especially the sweet ones) and have a good conversation with this lovely family.

Another new addition(or at least one I’d never seen before) to the food truck park. Crepes are hard to make in a fully functional kitchen. Try making one in the back of a truck. They did and they did it well. The gentleman taking the orders appeared to be French. First good sign. We had trouble deciding on which crepes to choose. Second good sign. We ended up with the Opera(salted caramel, chocolate, and whip cream) and the Charlotte(custard, strawberries, and whip cream). I started with the Charlotte & he started with the Opera. I wanted to stick my face in the whip cream and inhale. It was amazing. It wasn’t too sweet, light, and everything the kind in a can aspires to be. The crêpe was thin, also not too sweet, and the perfect consistency. The strawberries were still a little tart which balanced out the custard nicely. That’s what I love about European desserts. They aren’t so sweet they make your teeth hurt. A few bites in, we were eyeing each other questioning whether or not we wanted to switch. For the sake of the relationship, we traded. The Opera was all I expected. The salted caramel sauce was amazing. I would gladly double fist that with the whip cream until I weighed 300 pounds. I hope to see them stick around as another dessert option. Yum.
